Silver Star is the biggest roller coaster at Europa Park Resort in Rust Germany. This Bolliger & Mabillard Mega Coaster was built in 2002 and changed the skyline of the park ever since. With a height of 73 meters, it was the highest roller coaster in all of Europe until Shambhala opened about ten years later. Silver Star remains one of the most popular attractions at the park ever since.

Europa Park - Silver Star - Onride & Offride (Kompletter Streckenverlauf / Erste Reihe POV / 60 fps)
Onride & Offride-Video von Deutschlands höchster Achterbahn und einer der höchsten Europas im Europa Park in Rust aus Sicht der ersten Reihe. Die Hyper Coaster ist 73 m hoch (gleichauf mit „Schwur des Kärnan“) und 127 km/h schnell. Während der Fahrt auf der 1620 m langen Bahn erlebt der Fahrgast eine maximale Beschleunigung von 4 g und insgesamt über 20 Sekunden eine Beschleunigung von -0,2 g was dem Gefühl der Schwerelosigkeit sehr nahe kommt. Der Silver Star hat drei Züge mit je 36 Sitzplätzen und erreicht so eine theoretische Kapazität von 1750 Personen pro Stunde. Die Fahrgäste müssen mindestens 11 Jahre alt und 140 Zentimeter groß sein, um mitfahren zu dürfen.
Nachdem der Zug die Station verlässt, wird er mittels eines Kettenlifts bis auf die Spitze des 73 Meter hohen Lifthills gezogen. Dort beginnt dann die eigentliche Fahrt mit dem 69° steilen First Drop. Nach zwei weiteren Hügeln (Camelbacks) folgt der „Horseshoe“, eine hufeisenförmige 180°-Kehre. Nach einem weiteren Hügel durchfährt der Zug die Blockbremse, einen kleinen Drop und eine aufwärts führende 270°-Helix. Nach einem weiteren Hügel folgt nun die S-Kurve, welche den Zug in die anschließende Schlussbremse entlässt.
Geplant wurde der Silver Star vom Schweizer Achterbahnhersteller Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma Mack Rides. Ein besonderes Merkmal dieser Bahnart ist das häufige Auftreten von Schwerelosigkeit, in Fachkreisen Airtime genannt. Zudem gibt es insgesamt 20 Sekunden „Floating Airtime“ (auf vier parabolischen Hügeln, einer Helix mit Drop, einer Bremse mit Drop und den First Drop verteilt), bei der ein Bereich um -0,2g erreicht wird. Hierbei werden die Fahrgäste sanft aus dem Sitz gehoben, schweben für vier bis fünf Sekunden zwischen Sitz und Bügel und sinken dann ebenso sanft wieder zurück.
Als Sponsor beteiligte sich der Automobilhersteller Mercedes-Benz. Auf dieser Tatsache basiert auch die komplette Thematisierung. Der Name „Silver Star“ lässt sich mit dem silbernen Mercedes-Stern, dem Markenzeichen des Herstellers, in Verbindung bringen. Die Warteschlange führt durch die komplette Ausstellung, jedoch kann sie auch von Fahrunwilligen besichtigt werden. Der Weg, der die Besucher zur Motorhall bringt, ist im Stil einer Rennstrecke gehalten.

Onride & Offride Video with emotional outbursts (cries) on Germany's highest roller coaster and one of Europe's highest in Europa Park in Rust (first row POV). The Hyper Coaster is 73 m high (equal to Schwur des Kärnan) and 127 km/h fast. During the ride on the 1620 m long track, the passenger experiences a maximum acceleration of 4 g and a total of over 20 seconds an acceleration of -0.2 g which comes very close to the feeling of weightlessness. The Silver Star has three trains, each with 36 seats, reaching a theoretical capacity of 1,750 passengers per hour. Passengers must be at least 11 years old and 140 centimeters tall to ride.
After the train leaves the station, it is pulled by means of a chain lift to the top of the 73-meter-high elevator. There begins the actual ride with the 69° Steep First Drop. After two more hills (Camelbacks) follows the Horseshoe, a horseshoe-shaped 180° turn. After another hill, the train passes the block brake, a small drop and an upward 270° helix. After another hill now follows the S-curve, which releases the train in the subsequent final brake.
Sponsor was the Mercedes-Benz car manufacturer. This fact is also based on the complete thematization. The name Silver Star can be associated with the silver Mercedes star, the manufacturer's trademark.
