Shopping in African Bush ????????

■ TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: How do you charge your phone and computer when the tribe you're living in doesn't have electricity? You travel to capital city of course where there's an abundance of little shops making bank on the fact that even remote Masai tribes have cell-phones and other modern tech these days but lack the infrastructure to keep their devices charged.

After delivering my computer and Powerbank to Emy's favorite charging store, we continue on to the town's greatest baker before paying a visit to a tailor to get my new clothes from the market sown together.

Laundry in African Bush ????????

■ TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: When you find yourself living in a remote African village without electricity, running water or even a well, doing laundry suddenly ceases to be something you do when you have 2 minutes to spare to load up your washing-machine, and instead becomes a journey you plan to spend the better part of your day completing.

Seeing as I am a visitor here eager to get an insight into what life living in a Masai tribe in Tanzania is truly like, this was something I was royally looking forward to. I thus decided to rent a motorbike and turn doing my laundry into a truly epic excursion through the bushlands of rural Tanzania.

African BUSH MEAT CARNIVORE Restaurant in NAIROBI KENYA! VEGANS BEWARE!

Any foodie who has visited Nairobi will tell you that there’s one experience you must have when you visit the country—you have to eat exotic bush meats at the city’s most famous restaurant, Carnivore! Joining me on this latest food adventure are my guide Obed from Kumbukumbu Tours
and my good friend and cameraman Tasos.

???????? More Kenya Videos:

???????? Tasos:

CARNIVORE RESTAURANT: I’ve been dying to go to Carnivore Restaurant ever since 2004, when my cousin’s spouse first told me about it. We enjoyed an incredible, meat-heavy feast centering around three wild game meats: crocodile, ostrich meatballs, and ox balls. We also had pork spareribs, top sirloin, lamb, chicken, roasted potatoes, ostrich liver, beef ribs, a spicy courgette soup, several unique sauces, and some desserts!

Finkenstein Estate Bush Market in Windhoek, Namibia, southern Africa

Finkenstein Estate Bush Market took place on 11 March 2023 near Windhoek, Namibia.

#BushMarket #Namibia #SouthernAfrica

The Finkenstein Estate Bush Market is a community event held every two months in a beautiful natural veld environment a few minutes’ drive from Windhoek. Stalls are positioned between blackthorn trees close to the development comprising Finkenstein Estate, Finkenstein Manor and Finkenstein Village, just south of the B6 road between Windhoek and the Hosea Kutako International Airport. Entrance is free of charge; parking as well.

The Finkenstein Bush Market really is an ideal free day out for the whole family, their relatives and friends. Namibian businesses – large and small – participate as vendors and exhibitors and everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy our unique peaceful rural atmosphere. A huge variety of crafts, beverages and food is always on sale, and information stands are also featured showcasing handy local services and suppliers.

The food court, with ample seating and shade, is an ideal place to socialise while enjoying meals from around the world plus Namibian specialities, of course; or you can sample a range of different refreshing drinks at our outdoor bar @THE RIVER with more seating. Opportunities to be ACTIVE are a special feature of our event, whether you want to take part in a trail run, get on your mountain bike, or take a scenic route on horseback. In addition, there are always fun activities for children to enjoy in a safe setting at the KIDZ’ KORNER.

The Finkenstein Bush Market was launched in mid-2020 with the aim of strengthening our community bonds and providing a venue where people from Windhoek and beyond can support local producers, a goal that has only become more important as a result of the recent pandemic.

The Finkenstein Bush Market organisers and vendors are committed to:

maintaining fair and competitive prices;
delivering hand-crafted items and farm-fresh products that are not widely available elsewhere;
using eco-friendly, healthy and organic ingredients wherever feasible;
offering a broad range of goods and attractions that will interest all visitors, whatever their age;
creating a uniquely vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy;
prioritising local goods and services in order to support Namibian entrepreneurs; and
building and strengthening a self-help community spirit.
We are always looking to expand our group of Finkenstein Bush Market participants. If you think you would like to take part as a vendor or exhibitor in the future, please get in touch. We welcome ‘home industries’ just as much as large-scale businesses.

Support our Namibian community – buy local products!

Africa Bush flying - Day 1 - Bush Pilot exploring Botswana's Okavango Delta by bush plane Day 1

Africa bush pilot flying the Botswana Okavango Delta 2019 - Follow along, as I explore the Okavango Delta, by bush plane, flying with Ian Chamberlain from MackAir.

In another video, I'll share the fun trip from Cape Town to Maun, flying upfront, with pilot friend Vera in the ERJ. This was a real treat - thanks Vera!

In 2019, this region is in the midst of a severe drought. Join as we fly to the safari lodge airstrips, and view the Okavango Delta from above.

In this episode : We visit Xaranna, Chiefs Island and Cement, before returning back to the Maun International Airport.

With Botswana's large concentrations of birds and animals, this area is perhaps one of the best places to view animals and birds in Africa. It is one of Africa's last remaining great wildlife habitat and provides refuge to huge concentrations of wildlife.

The 8-person villa is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful nature reserves in South Africa and is part of a fenced Estate: Zandspruit Estate (Hoedspruit). From the private swimming pool, from the verandas, but also from your bed and standing under the outdoor showers of Villa Scarabee, you will experience the unique power that South African nature has to offer!

Exotic AFRICAN STREET FOOD!! Eating Bush Meat + Kakum National Park | Ghana

???????? JOLINAIKO ECO TOURS:
???? GOLDEN HILL PARKER HOTEL:

As my day in the coastal city of Elmina, Ghana continued, I got my first taste of some truly exotic African street food called bush meat before I headed out to explore Kakum National Park! Come with me as I continue my incredible road trip through Ghana!

My afternoon began with me and my guide Isaac from Jolinaiko Eco Tours riding one hour north to Kakum National Park! The park is famous for its seven suspension bridges, which give you a bird’s-eye view over a forest. It was a forest preserve from 1931 to 1992, when they converted it to a national park.

???? WATCH: African Street Food in the Biggest Market in Accra –
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

Kakum National Park is home to tons of wildlife, including endangered species as well as elephants, monkeys, and birds. The scenery on the way to the park is very diverse and ranges from bush to villages. The road was recently paved, so it was nice and smooth!

The lush, thick forest as we approached the park reminded me of El Yunque National Park in Puerto Rico, which I visited back in 2018. It was beautiful and bright green! It only took us 30 minutes to get to the park.

It costs 2 cedi per person to enter the park. They offer two activities: a canopy walk and a nature walk. I’d only be doing the canopy walk for 60 cedi. There’s also a hotel, a restaurant, and a gift shop there.

We headed out on an uphill walk along a stone path through the forest. You should be in good shape if you want to attempt it!

We entered the primary forest and continued on to the canopy walk. The bridges were built in 1994 and sway when you walk across them. Between the bridges are wooden platforms. If you want to walk all seven bridges, take a right at each platform. They’ll take you in a big loop!

The bridges are about 40 meters above the forest floor. The surrounding trees are massive, and the forest is gorgeous. This area reminded me of a zip-line I went to in Hawaii and another forest I visited in Malawi. Surprisingly, there were lots of flies this high up!

What a beautiful place! After you do the canopy walk, you can continue on with a nature walk. But instead, I went to get some food!

Five minutes later, we arrived at a blacksmith’s shop in a nearby village. He was making a farming tool used to cut the roots of trees! Then, we headed on to Tourist Spot Restaurant, where they serve fufu, fish, ampesie, rice package, bush meat, and more!

First, I washed my hands as I listened to the music playing. Inside was a small bar serving a strong, bitter medicinal drink. There’s seating both inside and outside. They have two types of bushmeat: grasscutter and antelope. I’d be eating the antelope with a rice ball called emotuo in a peanut sauce!

The antelope meat was fatty and gamy but tasty, and Isaac let me try some of his grasscutter. I liked it a lot! The emotuo and peanut sauce was outstanding. The emotuo reminded me of Japanese sticky rice. I liked it better than the banku and fufu I’d been eating! Everything was so flavorful!

The ribs are always the best part of any animal, and the antelope was no exception. It’s my favorite dish I’d had in Ghana so far! After the meat and emotuo was gone, I drank the sauce. It was like a yummy peanut soup! Three drinks and three bowls cost less than $2 USD!

Best of all, the people at the restaurant were so friendly and let me film everything!

Next, we drove to a village where people were roasting cassava flour (gari). I tried some. It was nice and crunchy. The people there were too nice!
