This time, I traveled from Tokyo to Hokkaido on the Shinkansen 'Hayabusa,' which operates at the country's fastest speed of 320 km/h.
The Hayabusa Shinkansen features a first-class section known as 'Gran Class,' which I had the pleasure of riding. Additionally, the Hayabusa I took this time is coupled with the 'Komachi' Shinkansen bound for Akita.
There's plenty to see, so enjoy the ride.

◆Gran Class is a more luxurious seat than the green car on the Japanese Shinkansen and is available on the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen (E5 and H5 series), the Joetsu Shinkansen (E7 and W7 series), and the Hokuriku Shinkansen (E7 series).

Riding Japan's Shinkansen Bullet Train in FIRST CLASS (300km/h) ????????
In this video, we ride Japan's Bullet Train Tokaido Shinkansen in First Class (Green Car) from Tokyo Station to Kyoto. We will be travelling on the fastest bullet train on this line, the Nozomi, which reaches a top speed of 300km/h. The journey time between Tokyo Station and Kyoto on the Nozomi Shinkansen is slightly more than 2 hours.
We will take a tour of Tokyo Station, Japan's busiest railway station, before boarding the Green Car of the Nozomi Shinkansen 25 bound for Hakata. After boarding, we will take a detailed tour of the First Class seat and the train amenities.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

Riding Japan's Fastest Bullet Train ???? Crazy Shinkansen Experience from Osaka to Tokyo
We're in Japan and travelling from Osaka to Tokyo by bullet train. This is our very first bullet train experience, the Shinkansen is the fastest train in Japan and one of the fastest trains in the whole world. Come with us as we have our first train experience in Japan. The Nozomi is the fastest train from Osaka and Tokyo and completes the journey in just 2.5 hours.
We pick up lunch for our ride at Family Mart (Japan has some of the best convenience stores in the world), then make our way using the Osaka Subway system to Shin Osaka where we pick up the Nozami Shinkansen train.
Once were in Tokyo we make our way to our neighbourhood and check into our hotel. We give a quick tour of our very small but stylish hotel room.

Correction: The trains are not MagLev yet. MagLev is still under development and is estimated to launch within a few years.
We're leaving Tokyo on a 2-hour trip to Kyoto, at speeds above 300 kilometers per hour, without leaving the ground. We're doing it by taking the world-famous Shinkansen bullet train between cities. And we booked their first-class green car to see if it's worth the extra cost. If you've seen our Milan to Paris episode, you already know we're not very good at trains. So will this be a fast and simple point A to B or are we on the fast track to another stressful day of travel?

Shinkansen Nozomi is the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen line connecting Tokyo Station to Hakata Station in Fukuoka Prefecture. With a maximum speed of 300 km/h, it is suitable for various situations such as work and travel.
As long as the train is not full, you can purchase seats up to the last minute, making it an easy ride. You can buy a station lunch and enjoy your meal while watching the scenery change from place to place.
