FIRST EXPERIENCE INSIDE FASTEST JAPANESE BULLET TRAIN (shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

Today is our FIRST TIME riding on a Japanese bullet train! The Shinkansen is the fastest bullet train in Japan, and one of the fastest in the world! We had quite the experience cruising at nearly 200 miles per hour from Tokyo out to Kyoto, eating our 7-Eleven purchased snacks along the way. Once we arrive in Kyoto the sightseeing really begins! After trying the famous 7-Eleven strawberry sandwich, we visit the Golden Pavilion and the epic Fushimi Inari orange gates! Two must see sites when in Kyoto! Did we mention its cold here? We had to find somewhere to warm up so we went to the popular Ichiran! This place not only has arguably the best Ramen in the world, but the experience is awesome too! After some street food dessert, we head back to our apartment for the night. Cannot wait to see more of Kyoto!

I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and YouTuber who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.

I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.

After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.

I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.

I've travelled to North America just once as a YouTuber, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.

In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.

I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan.

Osaka to Kyoto Japan on Shinkansen Bullet Train 2023

This is the Osaka to Kyoto bullet train process and experience on the Shinkansen high speed train in October 2023. The train ride is very short only 43km and takes around 20 minutes I sat in the economy section. Seemed like the train ride was over before I even could sit down and settle in. Overall a Great experience.

Japan's FIRST CLASS bullet train: Tokyo to Kyoto

Correction: The trains are not MagLev yet. MagLev is still under development and is estimated to launch within a few years.

We're leaving Tokyo on a 2-hour trip to Kyoto, at speeds above 300 kilometers per hour, without leaving the ground. We're doing it by taking the world-famous Shinkansen bullet train between cities. And we booked their first-class green car to see if it's worth the extra cost. If you've seen our Milan to Paris episode, you already know we're not very good at trains. So will this be a fast and simple point A to B or are we on the fast track to another stressful day of travel?

Nozomi (のぞみ?, Wish) is the fastest train service running on the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen lines in Japan. The service stops at only the largest stations, and along the stretch between Shin-Osaka and Hakata, Nozomi services using N700 series equipment reach speeds of 300 km/h (186 mph). The trip between Tokyo and Osaka, a distance of 515 kilometres, takes 2 hours 22 minutes on the fastest Nozomi.[1]

The trains stop at fewer stations than the Hikari trains. On the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, Nozomi trains stop at Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, Shin-Yokohama Station, Nagoya Station, Kyoto Station, and Shin-Ōsaka Station.[1] On the Sanyō Shinkansen, all Nozomi trains stop at Shin-Kobe Station, Okayama Station, Hiroshima Station, Kokura Station, and Hakata Station, but certain trains stop at additional stations as well. The Nozomi train service is not covered by the Japan Rail Pass.[2]

The word nozomi in Japanese means hope or wish.
