In this episode; It's our first day in the Guatemalan river side town of Fronteras, a place where many Western Caribbean cruisers spend their Hurricane season. It's 25 miles up the Rio and safe from any chance of a Hurricane. It's also a place many boaters choose to do repairs and upgrades to their boats. Labor is very reasonable and skilled or unskilled workers are ready and waiting to work for you. We actually ended up doing more work than we had originally planned, but that comes out in our next episode. For now enjoy the show!

Sorry for losing a week, as you may know San Blas its not know for having much phone service aka internet. We hope this video makes it for the lost week.
Margarida has gone for family reasons and I find 2 patreons to come and help me sail to Panama. Dougy is a Canadian who has raced very small boats but Adam is new to the game and wishes to know what it is all about. We leave the beautiful Rio going again through the magnificent gorges and check out of Livingston, at the mouth of the Rio Dulce. But getting across the bar is another story with us standing a very good chance of not making it due to our 6 feet 4 inch draft.
Before we leave the Rio, I give some tips to cruisers who may wish to visit Rio Dulce to make it a little easier.

After spending a month tied to a dock Jordan and I are excited to get back on the hook. The last item on our to-do list before casting the lines is to upgrade our solar array to be 100% self-sufficient. Jordan walks us through the design, installation and wiring process of our brand new 400 watt solar array on Atticus.

After a month spent with our family we get back to work on some projects aboard Atticus. But before we can dive in we hitch a ride with Honduran public transportation to extend our visas, which turns into an adventure of it's own. Once back Jordan tackles a temporary repair to a crack in our mizzen mast and then he completely rebuilds the raw water pump on our engine.
