We're in Belgrade, Serbia! Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia and it has a food culture which has been influenced by its conquerors over the past thousands of years as well as by its neighbours in the Balkan region. In this 2 part series we aim to show you some of the city's most beloved food as well as share some traditional Serbian food with you. We start with a Serbian classic- one of the Serbia's national dishes- the pljeskavica. Often called the Serbian hamburger it is a minced meat patty that's commonly served between lepinja (a flatbread) and toppings of your choice. We eat at an old school favourite in Belgrade- a place known for doing one thing and doing it well. Next up it's time for a traditional Serbian lunch from a local restaurant that's been around since 1950 before we head to a cake shop serving traditional Serbian sweets since 1851. 1. Pljeskavica at Dobra pljeskavica, Takovska, Beograd, Serbia. Open Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 11:00pm and 12:00pm to 9:00pm.
2. Prebanac (beans), sarma (stuffed sour cabbage), peppers stuffed with cheese and Karađorđeva šnicla (stuffed, rolled veal schnitzel) at „Пролеће“, Vuka Karadžića 11, Beograd 11000, Serbia. Open daily, 10:00am to 11:00pm.
3. Reform torta and trileche (3 milk cake) at Пеливан (Pelivan), Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 20, Beograd 11000, Serbia. Open Monday to Saturday 8:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday midday to 6:00pm.

Hi and welcome to my Serbia travel video on my Србија top 20 tips for the best Serbian Food. If you are planning to travel in Europe and are wondering what to eat in Southeastern Europe and what tasty local traditional food to try in beautiful Serbia, this Serbia video is for you. This was my first time in Serbia and I discovered some of the best Southeastern European food I had on my trip. I found lots of amazing street food I like and was able to get a taste of the mouth-watering traditional food in the country. Serbia features some of the best Southeastern European dishes and any good video on Serbia will of course have to cover the many amazing dishes. Now, like in many countries in the balkans, you will find meat dishes everywhere. Whether it's the famous cevapi, Pljeskavica or Karađorđeva šnicla, you have to try this in Serbia. But there are some really tasty vegetarian options available as well, like the refined Sarma cabbage rolls, a fluffy light Gibanica, fresh shopska salad or sweet Urmašice pastry.

Firstly, we had to one of the Christmas Market stands on Kneza Mihaila for some Pljeskavica, basically a burger but so much more than that! Firstly, it's huge, secondly, it comes in a number of varieties and thirdly, the amount of condiments available is insane. Urnebes is a common Serbia cheese/salad/condiment you can put on your Pljeskavica. It's epic. Plus we hear all about it form the locals!
Next up wer head to Dorcol where I'm staying and check out both the architecture and awesome street art (with origins relating to football). Many of you viewers (also locals) have told me a mountain of information relating to Dorcol, street art (and Yugos!) so I just had to go check it out.
Ultimately, it's important to remember that the whole point of travelling is exploring, learning and discovering more thanks to locals. This video does that!
