En juillet 2017, nous avons acheté un ancien camion 4x4 militaire de l’armée allemande (MAN KAT), sur lequel nous avons posé une caisse frigo que nous avons aménagée.
Notre objectif faire Ushuaïa-Alaska.
Nous sommes partis en Novembre 2019 pour l’Amérique du Sud, après être passés par l'Uruguay, le Brésil et le Paraguay, la pandémie nous a stoppé en Argentine. Maintenant nous continuons vers l'Alaska, pour poursuivre l'aventure.

Lodge 3.2 Quart Cast Iron Combo Cooker - Ordered from Lazada Here in the Philippines - $65.30 USD
Our electric wok is on its last leg. I figured I would invest in #castiron #cookware to continue the legacy of my #cookingshow. After some research, I decided to go with the #LodgeMFG 3.2 Quart Cast Iron Combo Cooker. Lodge MFG cast iron products are MADE IN THE U.S.A. by folks over in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. I ordered the Combo Cooker from Lazada (sort of like Amazon) here in the Philippines. Now, the Combo Cooker is listed for $62 USD on Lodge MFG's website. I only paid 3,396 Philippine Pesos ($65.30 USD) on Lazada and it arrived in about 3 days. The slight difference in price made me suspect that it might end up being a cheap Chinese knockoff / fake product. After opening up the box, my instinct tells me that it's authentic. I emailed Lodge MFG to inquire about whether or not they ship products to Manila. They confirmed that they do have an authorized distributor in the Philippines! I've already started cooking with the skillets and they're awesome. The taste of food cooked in cast iron makes me think I'm back on a dirt road in Mississippi. #MadeInTheUSA

Because our principle objective is for you and your fellow guests to have safe, enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We want to demonstrate some of the physical requirements that you’ll be expected to do on a rafting trip.

Before deciding if taking a river trip is right for you, you need to carefully consider any medical or dietary condition you have, that would endanger - not only yourself - but others on the trip. Because our principle objective is for you and your fellow guests to have safe, enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We want to demonstrate some of the physical requirements that you’ll be expected to do on a rafting trip.

You’ll need to fit into our Type 5 life jacket. Maximum chest size is 52 inches, and minimum weight is 50 pounds for the little ones. These are National Park Service and Coast Guard requirements. You’ll need to be able to securely grip ropes provided for hand-holds, while running the rapids.

You’ll need to be able to climb on and off the rafts. You don’t have to look pretty getting on and off the rafts, you just have to be able to do it. This could be as much as a two to three foot step or climb, and often on wet and slippery surfaces. You’ll need to be able to navigate uneven terrain over sand and rock, on hikes and in camp. You’ll need to be able to carry your own dry bag, which will include your twenty pound duffle bag, along with a sleeping bag and ground cover we provide.

Basically, if you can fit the lifejackets, grip a rope to hold yourself on the boat, step over stuff onto other stuff, that may be slippery at times, and climb a sandy slope while, perhaps carrying your personal duffle - then you’ll be able to handle any other challenges that may come with a rafting adventure. Some of those maneuvers aren’t things we do in our normal, everyday life, but they don’t require athleticism or grace when you’re out here on the river, they just have to get done.

Keep in mind, that so far, we have only pointed out the minimum physical requirements of a rafting expedition. Like being able to get on and off the raft, or around camp. Not all hikes are difficult or even mandatory. However, you do need to be mobile enough to get off the boats, to a safe place on shore during each of the hikes. And not all sections of hikes are extreme, or include exposure to heights. The fire line tradition is always appreciated for unloading the boats. But it is strictly a volunteer activity, and never mandatory for our guests.

We take pride in our ability to accommodate a variety of disabilities, and strive to make our trips as, as accessible as possible. However, a river trip is not right for everyone. The nature of an outdoor adventure includes exposure to weather conditions such as heat, sun, wind or rain - sometimes in the extreme. Factors of age, weight, lack of conditioning, heart or other disease, can be exacerbated by the environment, remote distance from a hospital and physical challenges brought on by a rafting adventure.

While Powell had already given his right arm, his men would have also, for a chance to eat like this. Powell and his nine men worried about things in their food like, uh, the green stuff in the rotting bacon, and sun dried apples, and uh, flour sacks and sugar sacks that had been laid out in the sun. And then having enough coffee of course. Today folks worry about things in their food like meat and nuts and gluten and lactose. And, just to be clear we’re not mocking those things. It’s a modern day reality that we have to deal with, as best we can. The question sections for each of the trips on our website, contains specific information about dietary concerns.

The self-contained nature and limited space of a rafting trip, restrict us from accommodating every dietary need like, say, a restaurant may be able to do. Uh, our meals are balanced and carefully considered over the last 50 plus years, to provide enough nutrition for vegetarians, gluten, lactose intolerant and pescatarians.

In general, understand that if you have severe and life-threatening allergic reactions to certain foods, uh like nuts. Or if you’re uh, celiac or a strict vegan, then a multi-day river rafting trip might not be for you. Rafting vacations should be thrilling and fun and restful. But again, in these wild, remote locations, it’s just typically too difficult to quickly evacuate if you’ve got life-threatening allergy, or life-threatening medical condition.
