Top Things to Do in Sedona, AZ

Check out excursions you can do on your trip at the link below:

The moment you come to Sedona, Arizona, you will know that you’re somewhere special. From the stunning scenery, to unique landmarks and natural water adventures, Sedona has everything you could possibly ask for. Whether it’s a family vacation or an adventure holiday, you won’t be disappointed. With everything that Sedona has to offer, it can be tough to know how best to prioritize the time you have. That’s not a problem, we have put together a list of the top fourteen things to do in Sedona, Arizona.

For example, the Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village is not simply a tourist attraction, but a wonderful oasis of serenity. It’s certainly worth spending a few hours of your time here to truly enjoy it. Tlaquepaque has been a landmark of Sedona since the 1970s and is known as the most distinctive shopping experience in the Southwest. Strolling through this place with its cobblestone walkways, stucco walls and stunning architecture will make you feel like you’re in another country all together.

Another example on our list is one for the passionate hiker. Devil’s Bridge Trail is one of the best hikes in Sedona and Devil’s Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. While it’s a four mile round trip hike to the natural bridge itself, it’s worth every step. The hike is very manageable for someone in decent shape. Once you approach the climb to the bridge, that’s when the real adventure begins, with some very steep stairs and a bit of a climb that’ll get you on all fours. While there aren’t any guard rails, don’t be alarmed. The surface of the bridge is large enough to feel safe. With the length of the hike and the scorching heat, remember to bring enough water.

Sit back, enjoy this video and start planning your trip of a lifetime.

10 Best Places to Visit in Arizona - Travel Video

Check out all the places seen in this video:

With a dazzling array of amazing sights, Arizona’s desert climate is home to some astounding geological formations and canyons that are well worth exploring. The Grand Canyon, for example, is one of the United States’ most famous sights, while the impressive Monument Valley certainly gives it a run for its money. With Indian reservations making up almost a quarter of Arizona’s area, there are lots of interesting archaeological, historical and cultural sites relating to Native American culture for tourists to enjoy. The state cities are fun and friendly places to stop by and there is some great nightlife to boot. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Arizona:

A LOCAL'S GUIDE: A Weekend in Sedona Without the Crowds | Our FAVORITE Hikes, Views, and Food

Sedona is one of our favorite places in the Southwest to visit. It is unlike any place we have ever been, and truly never gets old. We could visit over and over again and always find new places to see, new rocks to climb, and new restaurants to enjoy! What turns a lot of people away from Sedona are the crowds (and this is TOTALLY understandable). We have all seen the videos of people lining up at Devil’s Bridge for hours just to get the iconic photo.

The truth is (from our perspective at least), is that the best views in Sedona are the lesser trafficked ones. Yes, Devil’s Bridge is cool, but there are HUNDREDS of other trails we would rather do in a heartbeat, and you can often have them all to yourselves!

We have been wanting to put this guide together for a while, so we hope it’s helpful! Here are some of the trails and places we visited, and a few others in case you’re looking for more!

If you get the chance to visit, please take care of Sedona and the surrounding areas! We all want this place to stay beautiful for years to come!

Sedona, Arizona | Where to Eat | Best Restaurants | Secret Garden Cafe | Indian Gardens | Tamaliza

We traveled to central Arizona and dined at the Secret Garden Cafe, Indian Gardens, Tamaliza, Javelina Cantina, and Black Cow. We visited the area to experience the diverse landscapes of Coconino National Forest. We drove to Sedona, an Arizona desert town that is known world-wide for its red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls, spiritual vortices, and art minded community. The vortices propagate an energy that is conducive to healing and meditation. The community creates a vibrant art district lush with New Age shops, spas, and galleries. And the landscape attracts adventurers world-wide to experience the grandeur of the canyons and red rock formations. All of these features create an atmosphere that is ripe for sprouting restaurants that are keen on natural, sustainable foods with creative, multi-cultural tastes that, much like Sedona, are out-of-this-world.

Secret Garden Café
Located within the Tlaquepaque (tuh·lah·kay·pah·kee) Shopping Village, the Secret Garden Café is a charming eatery with one of the largest and most inviting dining patios in Sedona. Even in the winter, they cover the area and provide warm blankets for guests. This European-style bistro serves up everything from scratch, using fresh and healthy ingredients to keep their customers satisfied.

Indian Gardens Café and Market
The Indian Gardens Cafe and Market is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Sedona in a beautiful, historic red rock setting with a great shaded patio. But the food is what sets this place apart. (- and the reason Trip Advisor ranks this #6 out of 165 local restaurants.) The breakfast sandwiches and bowls are made with fresh, often organic, ingredients - and the artisan coffees are the perfect complement to these meals.

Tamaliza Café
The Tamaliza Café is a family-owned, cafeteria-style restaurant in a humble dwelling with traditional Mexican decor. What this eatery does is simple: they turn out the best homemade tamales that would make Abuela Garcia jealous. These corn masa staples of mesoamerican origin are made fresh daily with no GMO, no lard, and no processed foods. The recipes are authentic and use the freshest ingredients, resulting in a tamale that rivals any I have ever had.

Javelina Cantina
Javelina Cantina is a local and visitor favorite alike, turning out Mexican dishes and margaritas while providing spectacular views of the nearby red rock formations. The fun, easy-going atmosphere and high quality food make this place extremely popular, so arrive early. They provide many of the typical Mexican food favorites, including specialties such as pork carnitas and carne asada street tacos.

Black Cow Café
The Black Cow Café is a local, family owned establishment that offers special treats such as house-made pies, hot dogs, coffee and award-winning ice cream. While the pies are to die for, you would be hard pressed to pass up the prickly pear ice cream, a popular flavor that is a true crowd pleaser.
