The Great Pyramid of Giza, egypt, witch are also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. Egyptologists believe that the pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu over a 20-year period concluding around 2560 BC. Initially standing at 146.5 metres , the Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for more than 3,800 years. It was originally covered by limestone casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface; what is seen today is the underlying core structure, although a few casing stones can still be seen at the base. It was built by extracting huge stones from a quarry and lifting them into place, but there are varying scientific and alternative theories about the exact construction technique.
There are three known chambers inside the Great Pyramid. The lowest chamber is cut into the bedrock upon which the pyramid was built and was unfinished. The so-called Queen's Chamber and King's Chamber are higher up within the pyramid structure. The main part of the Giza complex is a set of buildings that included two mortuary temples in honour of Khufu, one close to the pyramid and one near the Nile, three smaller pyramids for Khufu's wives, an even smaller satellite pyramid, a raised causeway connecting the two temples, and small mastaba tombs for nobles surrounding the pyramid. Today tourists enter the Great Pyramid via the Robbers' Tunnel, which was long ago cut straight through the masonry of the pyramid for approximately 27 metres, then turns sharply left to encounter the blocking stones in the Ascending Passage. It is possible to enter the Descending Passage from this point but access is usually forbidden. The origin of this Robbers' Tunnel is the subject of much scholarly discussion. According to tradition the chasm was made around 820 AD by Caliph al-Ma'mun's workmen with a battering ram. The digging dislodged the stone in the ceiling of the Descending Passage which hid the entrance to the Ascending Passage, and the noise of that stone falling then sliding down the Descending Passage alerted them to the need to turn left. Unable to remove these stones, however, the workmen tunneled up beside them through the softer limestone of the Pyramid until they reached the Ascending Passage. Due to a number of historical and archaeological discrepancies, many scholars with Antoine Isaac Silvestre de Sacy perhaps being the first contend that this story is apocryphal. They argue that it is much more likely that the tunnel had been carved sometime after the pyramid was initially sealed. This tunnel, the scholars continue, was then resealed likely during the Ramesside Restoration, and it was this plug that al-Ma'mun's ninth century expedition cleared away. Egyptologists believe the pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu often Hellenized as Cheops and was constructed over a 20-year period. Khufu's vizier, Hemiunu also called Hemon, is believed by some to be the architect of the Great Pyramid. It is thought that, at construction, the Great Pyramid was originally 146.6 metres 481.0 ft tall, but with the removal of its original casing, its present height is 137 metres 449.5 ft.

Forbidden Tunnel inside the Bent Pyramid of Dahshur
When I was alone inside the Bent Pyramid which is located in Dahshur south of Giza and the Great Pyramid, I noticed a door that was locked. It had a hole in the fence so I decided to climb through to see what is inside.
I found myself in a long and steep passage and there was a pit which was covered with wooden planks. Also there was a very strong wind coming from this tunnel.
On the right side there was a white limestone block that was sticking out of the floor which made it look very special.
I continued to walk inside the tunnel and I switched off my flash light to see if there was any light coming from the end of the passage. It was pitch black dark.

inside the Step Pyramid | What's the real purpose of the Granite Box? ????
This is the step pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, Egypt.
The passage with the columns lead to a huge deep shaft which has been cut right into the bedrock.
At the bottom of the shaft, there is a huge granite box which is made out of big monoliths, weighing 20 to 30 tons each. The smaller round plug-stone weighs already 3,5 tons.
No corpse or mummy has ever been found inside.

The Great Pyramid is located in Giza, Egypt and it was built over 4,500 years ago by the ancient Egyptians. It's the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and it's also the only one that still exists today.
The Great Pyramid is made up of over two million blocks of stone and it stands 147 feet tall. That's about the same height as a modern day skyscraper! It's also the largest pyramid in the world and it's the most accurately aligned structure in the world.
But the Great Pyramid wasn't just built to be tall and impressive. It was also built to be a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu. The Pharaohs were the rulers of ancient Egypt and they believed in the afterlife. They thought that if they were buried in a special place like the Great Pyramid, they would be able to take all of their belongings with them into the next life.
The Great Pyramid is made up of three main chambers: the King's Chamber, the Queen's Chamber, and the Grand Gallery. The King's Chamber is where the Pharaoh's body was placed. It's also where you can find the Pharaoh's sarcophagus, which is a special coffin that was made to hold the Pharaoh's body.
The Queen's Chamber was probably used for storage, but no one is really sure. Some people think it might have been used for the Pharaoh's wife or mother, but no one knows for sure.
The Grand Gallery is a long, narrow room with a high ceiling. It leads to the King's Chamber and it's believed to have been used for ceremonies and rituals.

But how did the ancient Egyptians build such a massive and impressive structure? That's a mystery that scientists and historians are still trying to solve. Some people believe that the ancient Egyptians used a system of pulleys and levers to lift the heavy blocks of stone into place. Others think that they used ramps made of mud and brick to roll the blocks up to the top of the pyramid.
No one knows for sure how the Great Pyramid was built, but what we do know is that it's an incredible feat of engineering and a testament to the ingenuity and determination of the ancient Egyptians.

What’s that under the Great Pyramid?
????Join me May 17-28, 2023 for the Megalithic Marvels of Egypt Tour
On the Megalithic Marvels of Egypt tour we were privileged to receive a 2 hour long after-hours visit inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Upon entering the descending passage, our first big stop was to visit the subterranean chamber - the basement of the Great Pyramid! I was taken back by how long and steep this passage leading down underneath the pyramid was (approx 300+ ft). While the higher passageways & chambers were lined and finished with precision megalithic blocks, the passage leading down was unfinished in that it was cut straight from the bedrock. Once we reached the bottom, the passageway leveled out & we had to literally crawl on our hands and knees through thick pyramid dust the final section (approx 10 yards) before entering the subterranean chamber. This chamber seemed essentially like a big square with 3 levels - the upper level with smallish cutouts or storage type areas, the main level which featured this circular fence, which in turn, sealed us off from the lower level which is a massive pit with a squared out bottom that featured what appeared to be a nubbed circle popping up in the center of it. What do you think the purpose of this pit was? I will share my theories in more videos coming soon… on the far side of the main level was another tight passageway that led to another smallish room.
