Hello again from ATHENS, Greece! In this episode, we are taking you for a local street food tour around the Central Market (Varvakios Central Market) in downtown Athens. Surrounding this market is a tons of traditional restaurants and street foods!
We are taking you to a secret underground restaurant called Diporto, where there is no menu; the chef serves you whatever fresh ingredients he’s prepared for the day. We are also taking you for coffee at a local institution: Mokka. Here, they make strong Greek coffee in hot sand. Next we will take you into the heart of the Central Market to show you the local seafood catches, and we’ll show you a traditional Ouzeri. Ouzeris serve ouzo and mezedes (small plates) which can be sourced directly from the market. These are really cool joints where you can eat super local food and chat with locals. For dessert, we are taking you to Krinos, for loukoumades served with honey, cinnamon and vanilla ice cream. To finish off the street food tour, we will take you for a full meal at Telis Steakhouse. This shop serves charcoal grilled pork chops and a delicious SPICY and grilled salad. What an incredible day of eating!

Greek street food - In this video, I will take you on an insane Greek street food tour of Athens where we gonna be eating a special Greek lamb, a huge gyro and some of the best Greek street food in Athens, Greece.
To start our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to try an insane Bougatsa with custard creme.
As a second breakfast, we decided some incredible Greek meze, one of my favourite food to eat in Athens, Greece.
To continue our Greek street food tour in Athens, Greece, we went to one of the oldest Greek tavernas in the city to eat some traditional Greek food.
After that, to beat the heat of Athens, Greece, we had an insane and refreshing cold coffee.
Moving on with our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to have some of the best seafood in Greece.
To end our first day of our Greek street food tour in Athens, we had to go to one of my favourite restaurants in Athens and eat the most insane pork chop I've ever had.
The following, after walking for 30 minutes from the city centre, we've arrive at the best restaurant in Athens to have Greek pork gyro.
To conclude our Greek street food tour in Athens, Greece, we couldn't miss the famous Greek lamb chops at a local taverna.

Greek street food tour in Athens, Greece - Today, I will take you on a street food tour in Athens in search of the best Greek street food in the city and we will go to the king of souvlaki.
To start our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to have breakfast at a legendary place, Stani, that has been serving incredibly delicious Greek yogurt and more for almost a hundred years.
After that, we went to explore the crazy Central Municipal Athens Market and we found a very old restaurant that serves a unique dish, Patsa.
To continue our Greek street food tour in Athens, we found a local gem inside the market where we had meze with ouzo.
Right outside of the Central Municipal Athens Market, we found a local busy coffee shop where we had a classic Greek coffee.
Moving on with our Greek street food tour, we went to a 100-year-old taverna where they sell home-cooked Greek food.
As a dessert, we went to an iconic place that has been selling Greek loukoumdes for 100 years.
To end our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to the king of souvlaki where we had the best souvlaki on our trip to Athens, Greece.

Desserts are as an integral part of any cuisine as the most delectable savoury delights which is why today we're going to TWO legendary Athenian joints that serve a beloved Greek dessert: Loukoumades. We also continue our Athens food adventure and dine on some incredible traditional Greek taverna food at Epirus Tavern in the heart of Athens Central Market and experiment with modern Gyros at Hoocut! And finally, we tick off a few more Ancient Greek archaeological sights and soak up the history at the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the awe-inspiring Panathenaic Stadium!

We travelled from Mykonos to Athens by ferry. Checked into our hotel and had our lunch. Then we walked through the historic Plaka neighborhood. We saw the Hadrian's Library, Monastiraki Square and tried some of the local food. Next day we visited the National Archeological Museum and tried some more of the local food as well.
