Scenic boat trip from island of Antigua to island of Montserrat in the Caribbean. Let me take you through the wonderful experience of boarding a boat at St John's (the capital of the island of Antigua) and then travelling all the way to one of the most beautiful islands in the world, Montserrat, in the Caribbean.
Montserrat is a mountainous Caribbean island, part of the Lesser Antilles chain and a British Overseas Territory. Its Soufrière Hills volcano erupted in the 1990s, causing significant damage to the south of the island and leading to the creation of an exclusion zone. The north of Montserrat is largely unaffected, and has black-sand beaches, coral reefs, cliffs and shoreline caves.

Antigua is one of the 2 major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Ringed with coral reefs, the island is known for its many sandy beaches. Set along English Harbour, restored Nelson’s Dockyard, which Admiral Horatio Nelson made his base in the 1780s, includes a marina and the Dockyard Museum. Trails lead up to Shirley Heights, a former military lookout with panoramic views.

This is a view of the island of Montserrat (the one destroyed by a volcano some years back) as viewed from Shirley Heights, Antigua on March 4, 2018. On our Viking cruise, one could have taken a helicopter tour of Montserrat for a mere $400 per person.
Montserrat: A Hidden Gem
My cousin and I visited our grandparents on an island called Montserrat. It's located in the West Indie islands of the Caribbean. Many people have never heard of this country because half the island was destroyed by the island's volcano. It's a beautiful place that you should all check out one day!

The sad history of Montserrat - EP 95 Sailing Seatramp
After all we leave Antigua and sail over to Montserrat, probably one of the least visited countries in the world, but it suprised with lovely people and a sad but unique history.
First destroyed by Hurricane Hugo and then suffered from the devastating eruption of the volcano.

Bucket List Cruise: 9 Caribbean Islands In 10 Days
This cruise should be on your bucket list!
We visited nine islands in the Caribbean during a ten day cruise, and it was amazing! If your idea of the perfect vacation involves spending time at some of the world's best beaches, and getting spoiled by the great service on a top-rated cruise line, this West Indies Explorer itinerary with Viking Ocean Cruises is a cruise you should put on your bucket list.
We visited St Maarten, St Lucia, St Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, Barbados, and more. Ocean water temperatures were 80 degrees or more, and we had a lot of fun taking catamaran excursions and seeing amazing sights like the Pitons in Saint Lucia.
This cruise began and ended in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the ship was the Viking Sea.

In this video, 36 Hour Passage Sailing St Lucia to Antigua and Barbuda Non Stop 2020, we depart Rodney Bay St. Lucia and sail for Antigua and Barbuda, a 36 hour passage up the windward Islands, skipping the French islands Martinique and Guadeloupe due to Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions. Antigua is part of the Caricom bubble and we are allowed to go there if we can present a Negative Covid-19 PCR test result. This island day trip has been described by thousands of people as a must do while on holiday to Antigua and Barbuda. This may be the highlight of your vacation. This tour was designed by Eli Fuller to take visitors on a sightseeing day out on the water where you are treated like family and shown the hidden islands of the North Sound. This tour has themes of history and ecology and you will get a chance to see some of the local and migrating wildlife. Your expert local guides will navigate you up to Long Island where you learn about the hawksbill turtle program there. From there you will cruise past Maiden Island with it's interesting history and huge man made reef system. You will then cruise into the mangrove nursery and delicate habitat off Guiana Island where you learn about the interesting relationship between the species there. Next tou navigate up between the reefs and islands like Rabbit Island and Red Head up towards Great Bird where you the guides will take you on an interesting nature walk. When you return you may enjoy a swim while others take part in snorkeling lessons in the shallow waters off the beach. This is an extended view or long version of an earlier post for those who want more details and longer viewing of the scenery in the harbor of St. John's, Antigua on March 5, 2018 as viewed from Viking Sea during a West Indies Caribbean Cruise. We were docked at the commercial dock this day after having been the day before where you now see other cruise ships in this video.
