JAJCE & VISOKO | Hidden Gems of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Welcome back to another travel vlog through Bosnia! In this vlog we are exploring
Jajce and Visoko.

The first stop on our road trip was in the quaint city of Visoko. We went to this town to see a cluster of natural hills that have been claimed to be the largest human-made ancient pyramids on earth. We enjoyed hiking to the top and taking in the amazing views of the city.

The next day, we left Visoko and drove to a beautiful town called Jajce. Jajce is home to a gorgeous waterfall that cascades down into the very heart of the city. There are many things to do in Jajce such as hiking up to the fortress, visiting Pliva lakes, exploring the catacombs, and eating your way through the beautiful Old Town. We took advantage and did it all!

Top 5 waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In this year, if you are planning on traveling throughout Europe, make sure to add Bosnia and Herzegovina to your bucket list. Among many amazing and stunning sightseeing places, you absolutely have to visit Waterfalls in Bosnia. These gems are leaving all people who visit them breathless. Bosnia, with these amazing waterfalls, is surely Paradise on Earth.

Waterfalls in Bosnia are one of the natural beauties that will forever captivate our eyes. Waterfalls probably arouse emotions in most people that we didn’t even know existed. It is safe to say that waterfall is water in its most beautiful form.

Some of them are a special attraction during the summer months, and some turn into an ice mass in the winter and create a fascinating sight. It is almost impossible to find the right words to describe the beauty of the waterfalls we have. Some of them are creating lakes after the fall while some of them are creating tufa. Even, one of them is situated in the center of the city which makes him the only waterfall in the world that is situated in the city center.

You can read a list of 5 must-see waterfalls in Bosnia on our waterfalls blog

Dozivite Bosnu i Hercegovinu | Experience Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, Mostar, Travnik

Experience Bosnia and Herzegovina . Heaven on earth. Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Travnik, Jajce, Pocitelj, Lukomir.
Bosnia is an uncut diamond in the heart of Europe with heavenly greenery, beautiful mountains and wild rivers. Dormant in its centuries-old existence, it is slowly becoming one of the most interesting tourist destinations on the globe. Our Bosnian people are not even aware of the beauty they live in. Only when we go out into the world, when we get old and the nostalgia recedes to see our birth place again, only then do we realize what we have lost. About thirty years ago, we shed blood to save this country. Bosnia is the cradle of civilization, mercy and rahatluka, and we go somewhere far away to yearn for Bosnian spring, burek, cevapi and mineral water. Wake up, Bosnia, motherland, embrace your children and don't let them leave you anymore, and those who left, call them with your tears to return to their old mother.
We invite all our world friends to come and experience something new and unseen anywhere else in Europe. We were Europe before Europe. To see where the East meets West, where in one square kilometer you can find all worldly religions, where you can hear the call to prayer and church bells at the same time, where people swear by Tito, where people are still proud of the 1984 Winter Olympics , where people jump off an old bridge into a cold green river just to show their bravery or folly, where the greeting is where are you ba and the man is in front of you, where people go to war every fifty years and then live together again as if nothing had ever happened, where Bijelo Dugme, Merlin, Halid Beslic and Hanka Paldum are still popular after 50 years, where we celebrate going to the world championship like we have already won it, where the First World War began and where no army of this world managed to subdue Bosnian stubbornness, where there are the only salt lakes in Europe, where the Mars crater Jezero is named after Bosnian Plitvice Lake, where poetry is written on tombstones, where people build Hajr fountains, where Sevdah and good people live, where you can't translate true meaning of many Bosnian words into any other language,
where you die to live and where you live to die. Come and experience something new.

Dozivite Bosnu I Hercegovinu. Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Travnik, Jajce, Pocitelj, Lukomir.
Dodite i dozivite nedozivljeno.

Our Day Trip to JAJCE - The Walled City | Bosnia & Herzegovina Travel Vlog

Jajce is definitely one of Bosnia's most amazing places to visit - and there's a lot of competition!

We went to Sarajevo (check out our last two videos from there!) mostly as a place to experience a rich and diverse culture, and while Jajce offers much of this too, we went in with the impression of it being more of a destination filled with natural beauty.

This was true. We got this with our trips to Mlincici (Mlinčići) and Pliva Waterfall as well as from the beautiful mountains and rivers surrounding the town. But, we found that the town also offered a lot in the form of excellently-preserved ruins.

The ruins included our favorite fortress to date, a wall which previously expanded the entire perimeter of the city less the section walled in by the river, and some incredible towers!

Overall, this was such an amazing city and definitely worth the day trip! We wish we had even more time there!

If you are enjoying our content and want to help us make more, we would be so grateful if you considered buying us a coffee:

DAY TRIP - TRAVNIK AND JAJCE - BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ????????

One of the day trips you can take from Sarajevo is visiting the towns of Travnik and Jajce. Both cities lie to the northeast from Sarajevo. Travnik boasts a medieval castle and was once the capital of Bosnia. Jajce also has a fortress, an old church and catacombs. Highly recommended for everyone visiting this country!

Travnik and Jajce Tour - Day Trip from Sarajevo ???????? [2019 travel vlog]

Central Bosnia's towns of Travnik and Jajce are a great day trip from Sarajevo. Travnik used to be the capital of Bosnia in the Ottoman Empire, while Jajce has a great waterfall right in the middle of town!

In Travnik, I visit:
- Plava Voda (Blue Water) Springs
- Ornamented Mosque (Šarena džamija)/ Coloured Mosque / Sulejmania Mosque
- Ćevabdžinica Hari (best cevapi in Travnik for lunch)
- Stari Grad Castle / Travnik Castle
- Lutvina Kahva Coffeehouse (Bosnian coffee with cigarette)

In Jajce, I only had time to visit:
- Viewpoint
- Pliva Waterfall

In this travel short, David brings us 1-1.5 hours south of Banja Luka to the Medieval Ottoman town of Jajce. Sarajevo and Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina

This vlog Includes drone footage of Pliva Waterfall in Jajce.

Travel video blog about Sarajevo and Jajce in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also including some footage of Konjic.

After visiting Kravice Falls, Pocitelj, Blagaj and Mostar (see the link for this video at the bottom of this page), our next brief stop was Konjic for lunch then our final stop was the capital of in Bosnia and Hezergovina, Sarajevo.

Situated on the Miljacka river, Sarajevo is a charming city with a lot of history and some incredible architectural treasures. It is a place where the western and eastern empire split, and where the world war I commenced in 1914.

One of the first things I noticed upon arriving in Sarajevo was the weather, which was much colder than the other cities and countries we visited in the Balkans on that trip (September 2016- end of summer). During the day the weather was fine, sunny but still windy, but the evenings were very cold, the point that I had to buy gloves to go anywhere outdoors. We stayed in Bascarsija, which is the historic and cultural centre of the city and one of the major tourist attractions of Sarajevo. If you ever go to Sarajevo, this is the place you want to stay because it will allow you to easily walk to the main touristic attractions of town. Another benefit of staying in Bascarsija is that there are plenty of food choices there as the area is filled restaurants and cafes. I usually stay in hotels where the breakfast is provided, but In Bascarsija, I didn’t, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Every morning I would go out to a nearby cafe to enjoy fresh boreks for breakfast (baked filo pastries with fillings like cheese, meat, spinach or potato), following by Baklavas (sweet pastries filled with chopped nuts and covered in maple syrup or honey). Talking about food…another thing you must try while in Bosnia is cevapis, which are like skinless sausages made of beef or lamb.

Some of the places we visited in Sarajevo that you will see in this video are: the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, the latin bridge, the Sebilj or pigeon square, the inside of Sarajevo City Hall and the yellow fortress of Sarajevo, from where we recorded the panoramic views of the city.

After Sarajevo, on our way to Split in Croatia, we discovered another very pretty town in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Jajce. We were only there for a couple of hours but it was enough to fall in love the city. The most iconic landmark is undoubtedly the Pliva Falls, where we managed to fly our drone to get some spectacular aerial views of the falls. Another popular place to visit is the Jajce fortress, which can be seen from distance when you are near the falls.

This video was recorded with three cameras:

Experience The Magic Of Jajce In Bosnia: A Must-see Destination | Najljepša Mjesta U Bosni

Jajce is a small city in Bosnia & Herzegovina. A magical place to visit on your travel from Sarajevo to Bihac or Banja Luka. The whole area is geographically and historically interesting.
Throughout Bosnia's long history, Jajce has been the home of medieval kings, Ottoman governors, and a range of different ethnic groups, as well as being one of President Tito's earliest Communist strongholds. The town is famous for its beautiful 22-metre (72 ft) high waterfall where the Pliva River meets the river Vrbas.
Not far from Jajce there are mountains that are over 2,000 metres high, such as Vlašić near the town of Travnik. Travelling through the mountain roads is very picturesque and scenic.
