Incredibly James Dornan is Irish, and he is among the front runners here for the worst Irish accent of all time, alongside Emily Blunt and Christopher Walken ( thankfully Jon Hamm keeps his American accent, playing the requisite American, who chips in with: “I don’t understand you people.”). Until this, front runner for worst irish accent was Tom Cruise in Far and Away, famously reviewed by Mary Moloney in the Evening Press as “not far and away enough. Contenders include Julia Roberts in Michael Collins (which of you gunslingers is going to ask me to dance), Richard Gere in The Jackal, Brad Pitt in The Devil's Own, the unforgettable Leonardo de Caprio, Sean Bean in Patriot Games, Gerard Butler in PS I Love You, Tommy Lee Jones in Blown Away, Matthew Goode in Leap Year, Kevin Spacey in Ordinary Decent Criminal and Sean Connery in the Untouchables. James Dornan told the Belfast Telegraph he was learning a southern Irish accent, whatever that is.

The Charm Of The Irish
June 12th was very warm in Manchester so after swimming off I went to play my UKE as a street challenge . Can now play approx 15 tunes in my fashion. Inbetween I would ask passers by if it were their birthday ,If it was I asked their name and played Happy Birthday especially for them .The lady you see was over the moon ! An Irish man stopped to ask directions and then asked to film me whilst I sang ... Did the quickest ...tell you it's very unnerving being filmed .Even so it was a joke . The road works got worse so I went to Picadilliy and had a lot more fun there . Yes people did give me money .Not a fortune but it was one of the happiest days of my life. People are very nice and it's lovely to watch them and realize how stupid the media is .as it tries to have us believe all is lost.
