CHIARIBBEAN is my new series about my travels and sailing in the Caribbean islands. In this episode you will see Sandy Island, which is a tiny white sandbar, close to Carriacou. It is also one of the best spots for snokerling that I have seen in the Caribbean so far. We visit also Hillsborough, which is the biggest city, so called the capital of Carriacou. It's a very colorful town with cool style. In the end of the video you will see how I sailed with Sailing Britican from Sandy Island (Grenada), to Antigua, it took us 2 nights and days and was an incredible way how to see the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

Our own deserted isle, Sandy Island, Carriacou. Day trip from Sandals Grenada
A trip to explore Carriacou’s uninhabited Sandy Island. We made our own adventure whilst staying at Sandals Grenada. Our journey began with the Osprey fast ferry from St George. It’s a lumpy crossing, particularly when you reach the north of Grenada (Liz was never far from the chunder bucket). Once docked at Carriacou, it’s a taxi to see the island then drop off near Paradise Beach Club on the west coast. From here, we asked one of the locals to ferry us across to Sandy Island, about 1 mile offshore. We spent hours there swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing, the whole island to ourselves.

Sandy Island is a little crescent island just off the coast of Carriacou. It belongs to Grenada but you'd swear you were in heaven if you set foot here. This Caribbean paradise is popular with passing boaters and is a great place to lime away the day. Cheers!
Beautiful Sandy Island - Carriacou ????️
Sandy Island was one of the most idealistic islands we had been to. There was white sand, palm trees and the brightest blue water we had seen to date.
We had an amazing time exploring the little island and getting to swim amongst a beautiful coral reef full of fish. It is a beautifully unique island, it is tiny but it seems everyone finds their own little spot amongst the palm trees and leaves everyone else alone. It feels very secluded because of the fact that everyone gets on and does their own thing.
We could have spent a lot more time there but we have to start making our way up the islands ????️
If you would like to support our videos as well as help us save up towards new camera equipment (we have had 3 GoPros break in a one month and our bigger DSLR cameras are starting to give us trouble) that never seems to last on a yacht.

In 2004, Sandy Island was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan, and in response Grenada designated the island a nature reserve. Now, the spot is famed for its marine life, bird watching, and of course, it's beach where snorkeling is popular.
Located on the island of Carriacou, Sandy Island is on the West edge of the island, You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. This beach is not just a tropical beauty, it's special in that it's one of the few quiet beaches on Grenada. While Sandy Island may be a bit off the beaten path, it's the best place to take an undisturbed nap on the sand.
