#Austria is a beautiful country, famous for it's many #mountains and #picturesque scenery. No matter where you drop a dart on your map to determine your starting point it will definately have an #adventure for you!
We chose #Salzburg as the headquarter of our week long journey because of the many great places nearby and how easily those can be reached with public transport.
Salzburg is conveniently located on rail lines going through #Europe, and for us it was an easy 5 hour train ride from Budapest, Hungary. All of the destinations were easily reachable with Bus or Train.
The Itenary looked as follows:
Day 1 - Salzburg City, Kapuziner mountain, Old Town of Salzburg
Day 2 - #Wolfgangsee, Zwöfelhorn mountain, Town of Sankt Wolfgang
Day 3 - #Werfen Ice caves
Day 4 - (Germany) #Königsee, Obersee
Day 5 - #Hallstadt

An amazing trip to Salzburg region of Austria. This four days trip started by landing to the beautiful Salzburg Airport. The Airport location is breathtaking. We took a shuttle bus from the Airport to Salzburg central railway station and changed the bus to get to our Hotel. After keeping our luggage in the Hotel we headed to the St. Wolfgang Lake by catching a bus from the central station. Enjoyed the awesome views of St. Wolfgang Lake, eat fish for lunch and took a Ferry to many small villages around the St. Wolfgang Lake. This area is called as the Salzkammergut.
The next 2 days we went on a city tour in the Salzburg city. You need at least two days to see and enjoy the complete city. Don't miss the two Mozart Houses.
The fourth day we went to the picture perfect town of Hallstatt by train. A small but very beautiful town near Salzburg. If you go to Salzburg, you must visit Hallstatt.
