In this Italy travel guide video, we show you why you must visit Puglia and some of the best things to do in Italy. After our Salento travel vlogs we headed to a different part of Apulia. We had no idea you could swim in ancient ruins here - a new MUST DO in Italy and definitely one of Italy's best beaches. We visit the picturesque towns of Polignano a Mare and Ostuni. As well as the biblical cave town of Matera. We also sample some of the local food, including a traditional Italian snack of frise, prosecco, and olives! This day was definitely the highlight of our south Italy travel vlog series so far!

You NEED to Visit Puglia Italy ???????? The Next Amalfi Coast? Monopoli + Polignano a Mare (Travel Guide)
Travel to Puglia Italy. In this week's video we're visiting one of the less known regions of Italy, Puglia. Puglia is almost a secret in Italy, situated in the boot of Italy, it isn't as famous or as visited as some other regions of Italy.
We start the video in the town of Polignano a Mare. The town itself is very famous for a beach called Lama Monachile. We start off the video with a great view overlooking the beach and eventually make our way down to it to check out the pebble beach surrounding by dramatic cliffs.
We then head into the old town of Polignano a Mare and explore the small streets, squares and look off points. We stop at a restaurant called Il Grottino to try a local pasta dish called Orecchiette alla Pugliese.
We then make our way to the train station and take a 5 minute ride to the town we're staying, Monopoli.
In Monopoli we stop for a delicious Cafe freddo at Iridium Café.
We then take you on a tour of our apartment rental. Book it here:
Lastly we take a walk around the old town of Monopoli, stopping at the beach just outside the old walls and walking around the walled city.

Our adventure kicks off in Polignano a Mare, famous for its awe-inspiring clifftop vistas, pristine crystal-clear waters, and the charming sight of whitewashed buildings perched on the cliffs. PUGLIA | The best travel guide 2023: PART 1
Welcome to Part 1 of our Puglia vlog! Join us as we explore the beautiful cities of Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, and Matera over the course of three days. We started our journey in Bari, where we landed and made our way to Monopoli, where we spent our first night and dinned at the best restaurand in the city. The following day, we had a delicious breakfast at Bellavista suites in the city centre before heading off to Polignano a Mare, a picturesque seaside town known for its stunning beach.
After a day of exploring, we returned to Monopoli and changed accommodations to another fantastic spot, called Playa del Mar where we had a relaxing afternoon by the pool and enjoyed floating fruit platter before heading to Alberobello in the afternoon. The following day, we drove to Matera, the oldest city in Italy, where we explored the city center and saw some of the famous Sassi cave dwellings. We stayed in Palazzo Degli Abati, one of the best local hotels.

Salento Region: Puglia, Italy | Beautiful Destinations in Italy
The past year‘s lockdowns and ever changing restrictions call for a well-deserved weeklong summer vacation by the sea.
Puglia region in southern Italy is number one in the list, it‘s actually last year’s plan and now it‘s has finally happened.
We chose Otranto as our base city as offers a quiet romantic atmosphere. Young and energetic best describe the beautiful port city of Gallipoli. The crystal clear waters and powdery sands of Pescoluse beach in Salve is dubbed as the Maldives of Salento is clearly the highlight of this trip: we NEEDED to visit this beach twice! Lecce is Salento‘s most populated city known for its baroque architecture which sets its old city center’s streets as Instagram-worthy. Another gem, alongside Pescoluse beach, is Torre Mozza‘s beach.
Along the way, we learned that Otranto, Gallipoli, Salve, Lecce and Torre Mozza belongs to the Province of Lecce within the Salento Peninsula (Salento Historical Region) which is the southernmost part of the Region of Puglia.
Ultimately, we had our taste of Summer in Salento.
PS: Rimini (not part of Salento region) is our chosen stop-over from Munich since it is an established summer destination in central Italy.

PUGLIA | The best travel guide 2023: PART 2
Welcome to Part 2 of our Puglia vlog! After exploring the cities of Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, and Matera in Part 1, we continued our adventure with visits to the beautiful cities of Lecce and Ostuni.
In Lecce, known for its stunning Baroque architecture, we stayed at the exclusive La Fiermontina Luxury Home, one of the best accommodations in the city. After settling in, we ventured out to explore the city center, taking in the sights of the gorgeous buildings and piazzas.
For the second night, we moved to another spectacular location, the Palazzo Bozzi Corso, a small palace in the heart of Lecce. We had an amazing time in this magnificent hotel and enjoyed exploring more of the city, trying local cuisine, and soaking in the atmosphere.
On our final day, we drove to Ostuni, a charming hilltop town with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We wandered through the winding streets and admired the white-washed buildings before heading to the airport for our journey home.
We had an unforgettable time in Puglia and hope you enjoyed joining us on our adventure. Thanks for watching our vlog!

Puglia: The Heel of Italy's Boot | Full Documentary | TRACKS

Salento Beaches & Crazy Italian Fast Food - Pizza Dough Burger & Octopus Sandwich?! | Exploring Puglia's Salento
This Italy food video we try some Italian fast food. If you are as intrigued by what Italian food is like as we were, you won't be disappointed. In Puglia, the pizza dough Puccia sandwich is popular street food but in Taranto, they go one better make and have perfected the dirty burger. It is a pizza dough burger with fries inside. Crazy, delicious and weird. They also have an octopus sandwich. Visually different, it is an interesting take on Italian seafood. If you are looking for what you should eat in Italy, I think this should be on your list. Probably not that high on your must-eat list, but should be there all the same :)
We also visited the beautiful beaches of Salento. Puglia is famous for its beaches and again they didn't disappoint even if the weather wasn't in our favour. We visited the Maldives of Salento, Gallipoli and Punta Procusttio beaches and then to top it all off, Salina dei Monaci Nature reserve where they had bloody FLAMINGOS!! A must do in Italy in my bird book ;)

There is a lot of information online about why you should visit, so we wanted to show you some reasons why you should not visit. It is a top place to visit in Italy but we wanted to give you the full picture so you can decide whether it is the destination for you.
The main things to consider are the parking and roads if you are driving. The prices are not that friendly to budget backpackers and it is not necessarily unique. That said, it was an incredible place and it is obvious why it is so popular.

Whenever I talk to people who plan on going to Italy or have gone to Italy, the same places that they've visited usually seems to come up. From Rome, Venice or Florence, these are easily some of the most travelled and well known places across Italy. It's not like there's anything wrong with these places but in today's video I wanted to show you guys some locations across Italy that you've probably never heard of that you can add to your Italy itinerary that are hidden gems that I absolutely loved.
There's everything in this video from incredible tropical destinations like the island of Ischia and the village of Vieste to special places in the mountains in the region of Abruzzo like Campo Imperatore and unbelievable castles like rocca calascio and roccascalegna. I've even included probably the strangest travel experience I've ever had in my whole life.
