Sailors, Living off the Land in TROPICAL PARADISE!
(PART 1) As you might know, we spent a heap of time sailing and living off the land in the Bahamas. We've been digging into our archives lately, during lock down. We really wanted to do a 'best of' show reel, mostly showing our attempts of self sufficiency. We were new to using a polespear, the traditional Bahamian primitive method of spear fishing, and Elayna was experiencing what it meant to be pregnant for the first time! Feeling very nostalgic looking through this old footage.. ???????? Enjoy!

We continue to explore Las Perlas islands during lockdown in Panama. The rainy season was approaching fast, but that didn't stop us making the best of the situation.
We spent our days free diving, spear fishing, living off the land and meeting an amazing sailing community that was around. We are very grateful to be in such a privileged situation in times like this!
SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Colin and his friends spent 4 months getting her seaworthy, before setting sail across the Caribbean. Follow our journey as we continue to fix her and eventually circumnavigate the globe!

A Solo Mission in Paradise (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 142
Upon arrival to this new island, we were completely wow'ed. We already have a good feeling about Barbuda and we've barely seen the place yet. Riley joins his mate George for a spearfish and I agree to drop him off in the boat and go back to Cocoa Bay around the other side of the island and anchor by myself. It's funny how after 4 years I've never had the opportunity to take La Vagabonde anywhere solo. It's always been the two of us, or Riley solo sailing while I take care of work on land etc etc. It was an incredibly empowering feeling trusting in myself to do what I already knew I could do, but was a little too scared to take that step and try. A shout out to all the solo sailors out there! I think you're all amazing. Next goal of mine is to take on the deeper water and miles!

Catch and Cook: Spearfishing CARIBBEAN FISH, ???? on the Beach!
Join us for a catch and cook here in the Caribbean. We found a shipwreck and I was lucky enough to spear a Permit, which are pretty good eating. We're doing a thing where we're trying to live off the land for a while. We still have to buy groceries but have been able to get it down to basically just beans and veggies. If I can start swapping fish for potatoes we are seriously in business.

**In true Tarantino style, we have gone back in time to the several weeks before we crossed the Atlantic. It's a continuation from episode 233:
La Vagabonde gets a haul out in the middle of no where for some boat repairs. Towns like this, remind me a lot of a few of the country towns around where I grew up in Western Australia. A bit odd.. ???? but I love to play chameleon and blend in to any new environment we find ourselves in. Join us on the cement as we replace the seals on the sail drives and I invite a friend Bri to stay the night. We have a girls night and tare up the town (go to one bar..) whilst Lenny stays home with papa! Wooooo.

Established Titles is a fun gift, meant for a good laugh and not to be taken too seriously. We hope you enjoy part 2 of our brush with Hurricane Kay. We prepared as best we could, and now there was nothing left to do but wait. It's a pretty vulnerable feeling to just be sitting and waiting, unsure of what's to come. Cruising life has presented us with all kinds of challenges over the years, but this has to be one of the most mentally tough ones we've faced, especially since having Sierra has really changed the way we see everything.
The hardest part of it all was definitely seeing some of the other boats struggle and feeling helpless to do anything about it. Knowing that it's someone's hopes, dreams, maybe they worked their whole life to make it a reality...and now that dream is on the beach getting pounded by swell. It was heartbreaking to see.
We are incredibly grateful to have come out from the whole experience unscathed, and we hope that those of you here that have your own boats or are working towards one in the future can learn valuable tips and lessons from this episode.

Sailors Paradise
Join us on our Barefoot and Salty Adventure as Clive and I spend several days at Paradise Cove. We avoid getting hit by a motor yacht and hike to a camp ground for a cup of Turkish coffee. We set sail for Isene Buku for a few days of rest and relaxation. Our next stop is Turgutreis to stock up on provisions and enjoy life at a marina for a few days.
