Safe Travel Tips During Coronavirus Season and Must-Bring Items and Medical Expense in Japan #231

In this video, I show how the Japan Osaka streets look like in February, 2020. Also giving advice what to bring for Japan SAFE travel during this season, plus sharing my experience of paying medical expense for Japanese hospital when I caught the Flu (Influenza in Japan), Hope this video can help your Osaka/ Japan Travel.

Why I made this video?
People get really nervous because of Coronavirus, and I have been receiving so many messages and questions about the situation in Osaka now, So I have decided to make this video.

Conclusion.
Yes, It is safe to travel to Japan since people are being really careful now. (As you can see, most of the people wear mask). If you will visit Japan, it's better to bring masks and hand sanitizer from your country. because recently it's hard to find them in Japan especially in Tokyo.
Still in some other prefecture, you can find masks in Japan, so if you need masks, try to find those in Countryside prefecture!

I know that many people are really looking forward to their Japan trip. Hopefully the situation gets better, and we can have peaceful fun time again soon. Praying from Japan.

The Video I introduced in the video.

(Corona Virus Update) How Osaka Major Cities Look Like and Checking 6 Drug Stores for Masks #225

Recently I’ve been receiving many messages how the Osaka street look like now and update of the situation.
In this video, I visited Namba Dotonbori, Osaka Station (Umeda station), and Universal Studios Japan CityWalk, and showing the town, and talking about recent coronavirus situation in Japan.
I also visited 6 drug stores to check if they sell masks in Dotonbori, Namba.

Here is the time-line of the video!
Universal Studios Japan CityWalk 0:58
Osaka Station 7:04
Namba Station 11:24
Checking if I can buy mask at drug store in Namba Dotonbori 14:48

*UPDATE! Universal Studios Japan, Disneyland and Sea, Legoland, Osaka castle museum will close from 29th Feb to 15th Mar, I will definitely give you more update in the future, please subscribe to my channel and don't forget to turn on your notification button [bell button] , I really appreciate your support????

Conclusion.
1. There are less people on the street compare to last year.
2. Even I visited 6 stores, I couldn’t find a reasonable priced mask

So is it safe to visit Japan now?
I am not a medical specialist, so I cannot give you a clear answer since the situation has been changing everyday.
However, I still think it’s not that dangerous to visit japan as other people think, here are some reasons why I think so.

1. Still there are less than 100 coronavirus confirmed cases in Japan now, Even we have over 130 million population. (EXCEPTING the cruise ship cases)
2. Recently Japanese people are getting more serious about preventing virus. (Many events are canceled, also many people wear mask and washing hands and gargling)
3. I have been walking around outside and eating street food, but I am no infected yet *Please understand this is JUST my opinion

I assume there will be more and more confirmed cases in Japan in the future. I promise I will give you an update by the video or Livestream.
Also I will make a video about how much it would cost and would be treated in japan if I am infected coronavirus. (I don't wear a mask in the video, but I usually wear mask, and being careful to prevent virus)

I am a Local Japanese full YouTuber, I will make a video whatever it can help you. Sorry for my fuzzy answer, but hopefully this video can help your Japan travel. Praying from Japan.

The information shared in this video is my own opinion based on the most up to date public information from the CDC and WHO on Feb 10 2024.

Tips to be safe from corona during travel || WHO travel tips || Janata Curfew

WHO continues to advise against the application of travel or trade restrictions to countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks.

It is prudent for travellers who are sick to delay or avoid travel to affected areas, in particular for elderly travellers and people with chronic diseases or underlying health conditions. “Affected areas” are considered those countries, provinces, territories or cities experiencing ongoing transmission of COVID-19, in contrast to areas reporting only imported cases.

General recommendations for all travellers include:

Wash your hands frequently

Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose

Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze

Stay more than 1 meter (3 feet) away from a person who is sick

Follow proper food hygiene practices

Only wear a mask if you are ill with COVID-19 symptoms (especially coughing) or looking after someone who may have COVID-19.

Travellers returning from affected areas should:

Self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and follow national protocols of receiving countries. Some countries may require returning travellers to enter quarantine.

If symptoms occur, such as fever, or cough or difficulty breathing, travellers are advised to contact local health care providers, preferably by phone, and inform them of their symptoms and their travel history.

Traveling Soon: 8 Ways to NOT Get Sick

In today’s video I am sharing travel tips to help you not get sick when you travel on an airplane. Being in close contact with the flu, the Coronavirus, and other illnesses could infect you, but airlines have taken precautions. You can do your part to not get sick when you travel as well.
The top five things you can do to prevent getting the flu or other illness are number one: wash your hands often with soap. If you cannot get soap, use alcohol-based gel. The State Department issued a Level 4: Do Not Travel to China alert. Level 4 is the State Department’s highest alert level for travel.
Number two is touch your eyes, nose or mouth as seldom as you can.
Number three is to cover sneezes and coughs with your elbow and not your hand.
The Coronavirus poses a serious public health threat. The United States Department of Health and Human Services called this coronavirus a public health emergency. #coronavirus #covid_2019 #traveltips

Let's Talk About a New Sustainable-Tourism Product Model For Japan's Destinations

We already have bicycle rental systems set up across Japan in tourism destinations- so for cities which have rivers cutting through the city, or beautiful beaches with calm waters, why not integrate SUP rentals as a new sustainable tourism product?

Looking at existing SUP (stand up/sit up and paddle) rental boards in destinations across Japan, the hurdle seems a bit high- it's aimed at athletic travelers and bookings must be done far in advance. Since it's actually pretty easy to use a SUP board and many of them are inflatable, and therefore easily portable in backpack form, booths across a city could rent them out. I would recommend charging a day's fee of 3,500 ($35) to simplify things and offer an added incentive of 500 yen ($5) off if you bring in a bag of plastic garbage collected while SUPing when you return your board. If picking up plastic trash is incentivized as a part of the rental, it can be called SUPuraEyes :
SUP+Pura+Eyes
SUP = Stand Up Paddle
Pura = Japanese term for plastic
Eyes = because you seek out trash
I like that it sounds like ‘surprise’ which makes it fun and easy to remember.

Recently been getting into Stand Up and Paddle and like I know many avid SUPers already do, I've been collecting plastic waste along the way.

Inspired by the efforts of the Swedish Fitness Trend Plogging (picking up plastic while Jogging)

Also, Dhruva Barua's Thames Project (collecting plastic while cycle-floating on the London river)

I really think this SUPuraEyes concept has a lot of potential as an Ecotourism product in Japan which could also open a discussion about the plastic pollution problems in Japan.

Read more here on my post about SUPuraEyes :
