St. Barts & St. Martin : French West Indies | 4K Travel Video
For this trip we spent 6 days on the beautiful island of St. Barthélemy then 3 more on St. Martin. While on St. Barthélemy we had the pleasure of staying at @lebarthelemyhotelspa5889 for a true mix of luxury and relaxation. We enjoyed visiting downtown Gustavia, sailing to Colombier beach, watching planes land at Gustaf III Airport, hiking & admiring turtles at Grand Cul-de-Sac, and of course partying at Nikki Beach.
On St. Martin it's an absolute bucket-list to catch jumbo airlines landing at SXM over Maho Beach. Exploring both the French & Dutch sides is always exciting to see the different cultures on the same island. We visited downtown Philipsburg, Marigot, Fort St. Louis, & Loterie Farm to hike up to Pic Paradis.

This arid, volcanic rock of just eight square miles is home to an eclectic mix of iguanas, night-blooming cactus, and fabulous beaches as well as luxury yachts, designer boutiques, and VIPs... Peopled primarily by descendents of the original French settlers and transplanted Europeans, this is an island with a strong, independent personality. Through the vagaries of its history it became a duty-free port and more recently liberated itself from the administrative yoke of Guadeloupe. It is certainly the most unusual of the French West Indies islands.

Saint Barthélemy (French: Saint-Barthélemy, French pronunciation: [sɛ̃barteləˈmi]; Swedish: Sankt Barthelemy), officially the Collectivity of Saint Barthélemy (French: Collectivité de Saint-Barthélemy), is an overseas collectivity of France. Often abbreviated to Saint-Barth in French, or St. Barts in English, the collectivity is one of the four territories among the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean that comprise the French West Indies, along with Guadeloupe, Martinique and St. Martin.
St. Barts has an area of 21 km² and a population of 8,398 (census 2006). Its capital is Gustavia, which is also its main harbor. It is the only Caribbean island to have historically been a Swedish colony for any significant length of time (Guadeloupe only having been one briefly, at the end of the Napoleonic Wars). St Barth's Is Back!
In December 2018, a small group of Classic Vacations employees and travel advisors traveled to St Barthelemy in the Caribbean to see how the island was handling tourism after Hurricane Irma. After our wonderful experience we are happy to say St Barth's is BACK!!
