Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 update as of July 2020
We have reach the third quarter of 2020 and lets check the progress of one of my most awaited infrastructure project #SkywayStage3 spanning all over various cities of Metro Manila linking south to north NCR soon. This elevated structure created by #SMCInfrastructure is a challenging project because of the existing properties and road networks. Designers have to meticulously and carefully plan where the alignment passes, with the help and assistance of DPWH right of way acquisition on certain affected properties. The project is under the public private partnership program and was subdivided into 5 sections. We have skipped section 1 as most of the action and works are now concentrated on section 2A, 2B, 3, 4 and 5.
Section 2A
2:00 - You could see pouring activities on the Plaza Azul area, while there is still a missing link along W Zamora, i hope the issues are resolved on this area.
4:08 - one the most critical portion now in this project, the double deck portion of section 2A under DMCI and EEI. You could see EEI using steel coping beams on their area. DMCi has started installing girders on their section.
Section 2B
6:40 - Seems like Span 1 is saved from demolition due to the fire accident last February 2020. See how the contractors did not need to do another pile boring? Luckily the structures below where not damaged. This is a good news!
8:22 - we took a panorama shot of the entire section 2B. You could see the remaining span near Marketplace and Sevilla bridge is now moving. Once pouring is done we can officially say Pandacan to Sgt Rivera street in QC is now officially connected.
10:19 - Sevilla bridge restoration is almost done. After many months / year Sevilla bridge is now being made into a stronger bridge. There is still a hanging bridge in Punta and Bacood, i hope they start restoring it too
13:06 - some of the provisions of off ramp / on ramps are not yet complete probably due to right of way issues
Section 3
14:00 - there are girders now (finally) installed on the On ramp near Landargun street / Shell (Araneta avenue), still some electric post blocking in on one of the span though
15:00 - The girders on the off ramp SB is complete, we now wait for the approach below.
15:27 - MSE walls and soil compacting as seen being done on the on and off ramps before Quezon Avenue / near Sanctuarium. The second level was really wide.
Section 4
17:48 - I am really surprised the contractors did it! The 3rd level of skyway is poured!!! There are still remaining span on 2nd level ready for pouring and hopefully after two weeks we could see the second level ready! I am really excited on this development!
20:04 - This is one the other remaining span (near A Bonifacio avenue) Once girder installation and pouring is done here, Pandacan to A Bonifacio is technically connected. You could see a future provision to C3 road and other on or off ramps. I am not familiar with how the ramps and spur roads will be connected on this portion and as we could see the contractor is focusing on the main line of Skyway.
21:32 - Still no girders and coping beams on some span / columns. There are properties along A Bonifacio now closed (probably off ramp)?
Section 5
22:00 - Why Span 8 remains to have no translab and activity? A proper coordination between the contractor and the management of LRT line 1 must be observe. Remember LRT Line 1 is an active busy line and doing activities above the catenary cable is dangerous.
23:00 - Beautiful! The current (soon) terminus of Skyway Stage 3, divided into Y shape for the on and off ramps as you reach NLEX. Seems like section 5 will be complete in the coming months!
As the time for this project is about to be complete, my coverage of the skyway stage 3 is also downsizing to the critical portions. Rest assured i will try to finish documenting this since i am really interested in this elevated structure from the beginning of its pile boring works on Osmena Hwy. Thank you for watching! Infrastructure Projects in The Philippines| Elevated Metro Manila Skyway Update

TPLEX update as of July 2020
This is it, the last update before the opening of #TPLEX #TarlacPangasinanLaUnionExpressway
As of this update there are ongoing works on the Sison Interchange. The July 15 opening probably must be the main carriageway from Pozorrubio to Rosario. I guess the Sison toll plaza and Interchange will be operating in the coming months. I have nothing more to say except the road condition was superb! Asphalt was good! It was a great drive! I wanted to congratulate #SMCTPLEXCorpration and #SMCInfrastructure for this wonderful expressway. This expressway has benefited many motorists going to the north. Truly it was a big help to ease up traffic and a big convenience for vehicle travel. Most of all, a big salute and thanks to the people in the construction team of TPLEX as they have made miracles over this project despite the covid19 pandemic and time constraint and other issues. Thank you very much SMC!

Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 update as of October 2020
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is almost ready for a December opening if we are talking about the main line. As for the ramps probably more months to go if you ask my personal opinion. Hand in hand with Government and Private sector, we have an elevated bypass road that will skip the busy narrow thoroughfare along Metro Manila while travelling from south to the north corridor.
As we enter the fourth quarter of the year. The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 main line is technically connected as girders have been installed and restored on all the gaps between the missing spans along the main line. We have documented some of the installations and I have included those footage on this October 2020 update. As the update coverage we are doing is getting less, it means the project is about to be complete! These past few months has been nostalgic for me as after years of following this project, finally it will be usable to all. Together let us witness the last stages of developments on this project.

As the National Capital Region reverts its status back to MECQ let us check the current progress of the #MetroManilaSkywayStage3 by #SMCInfrastructure We could see that the linking of the main line coming near. There was a press release that #SkywayStage3 main line will be open to motorists on November 2020. The remaining critical portions that would link the entire main line of this project can be found on Section 2A, the damaged portion of Section 2B, Section 4 and Section 5.

This is my #SkywayStage3 update for September 2020. Only some portions along the main line still under going construction and we will be enjoying a convenient drive from Makati to Balintawak! The critical areas of Section 2A and section 4 are what we have to check look at. The main line is critical in opening the entire skyway stage 3 system.
This is the first time i saw a double deck elevated structure built in the Philippines, one reason why i have dedicated and concentrated my time to this structure is because i am really amazed how the designers inserted a huge structure on dense populated National Capital Region and how they will treat the obstacles that arise while constructing this. I never did this for any money to set the record straight. I am very much interested how this structure would turn out and i am very much eager to see this to be complete so i, coming from the south would no longer need to pass traffic congested city roads. Seeing the formation of the double deck really made me feel so good and optimistic. I cant believe once you see this via 3d animated rendering now you see it in reality.
I would appreciate other people out there not to copy the video and repost it to their channel, it would be asking much but just share the link instead.

This is the recent development in the ongoing Skyway extension project in Alabang Muntinlupa.
After almost 3.5 months of community quarantine that started on March 2020, construction works has resumed and this is how the project looks like now.

The Metro Manila Skyway System (Skyway 1, 2, 3 & 4) is an elevated expressway serving as the main expressway in Metro Manila. It connects the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) with an access to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
It also has a provision for future expansion to the North and the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan which is currently under construction.
When completed, it will be one of the longest flyovers in the world with a total length of approximately 42.79 kilometers.

The Skyway Extension Project Northbound from Susana Height to Sucat is already Opened last 11April 2021.
First proposed by San Miguel Corporation in November 2017,[44] the Extension Project was envision edto expand the two-lane section from Skyway Main Line toll plaza to Alabang–Zapote Road to six (three lanes each way), and building an extension from South Station, Alabang to the Susana Heights Exit of South Luzon Expressway in Muntinlupa. The Skyway Expansion Project is the first phase of the firm's three-year expansion project of all toll roads in southern Metro Manila to decrease traffic congestion on the area's major thoroughfares. The northbound section, opened on April 11, 2021,[41] spans 3.99 kilometers (2.48 mi) long, while the southbound section would span 3.6 kilometers (2.2 mi) long. The southbound section of this project is 52.31% complete as of March 2021 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.
Construction of the Extension Project that would extend Skyway further south past Alabang began in August 2019. On November 21, 2020, the original expected completion date of December 2020 was delayed until February 2021 due to an accident along East Service Road in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa. A crane operated by one of the contractors, EEI Corporation, tilted and hit a steel girder causing it to collapse and fell to passing vehicles. There were 4 reported injuries and 1 fatality on the said accident.
The Skyway Extension project is a key feature of the 38-kilometer elevated Skyway system, extending it from Skyway Main Line Toll Plaza in Sucat, Paranaque to Susana Heights at SLEX and back.
Adding three lanes going north and two lanes going south, the extension provides motorists a direct connection to Skyway 1 and 2 and SMC’s recently opened Skyway Stage 3.
As work on the southbound section is about to enter the advanced phase, the Skyway management advised motorists to take alternative routes as they close the road beside the Alabang viaduct.
The Skyway Extension project, conceptualized and fully funded by SMC, started in late 2019. The northbound section stretches from Susana Heights to Sucat. It is seen to decongest SLEX and Skyway at-grade traffic by diverting motorists straight to the elevated Skyway.
“You can be at NLEX in 25-30 minutes instead of two to three hours, and bypass the usual traffic chokepoints such as Alabang, Magallanes, Edsa. The Skyway Extension Project Northbound from Susana Height to Sucat is already Opened last 11April 2021.
First proposed by San Miguel Corporation in November 2017,[44] the Extension Project was envision edto expand the two-lane section from Skyway Main Line toll plaza to Alabang–Zapote Road to six (three lanes each way), and building an extension from South Station, Alabang to the Susana Heights Exit of South Luzon Expressway in Muntinlupa. The Skyway Expansion Project is the first phase of the firm's three-year expansion project of all toll roads in southern Metro Manila to decrease traffic congestion on the area's major thoroughfares. The northbound section, opened on April 11, 2021,[41] spans 3.99 kilometers (2.48 mi) long, while the southbound section would span 3.6 kilometers (2.2 mi) long. The southbound section of this project is 52.31% complete as of March 2021 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.
Construction of the Extension Project that would extend Skyway further south past Alabang began in August 2019. On November 21, 2020, the original expected completion date of December 2020 was delayed until February 2021 due to an accident along East Service Road in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa. A crane operated by one of the contractors, EEI Corporation, tilted and hit a steel girder causing it to collapse and fell to passing vehicles. There were 4 reported injuries and 1 fatality on the said accident.
The Skyway Extension project is a key feature of the 38-kilometer elevated Skyway system, extending it from Skyway Main Line Toll Plaza in Sucat, Paranaque to Susana Heights at SLEX and back.
Adding three lanes going north and two lanes going south, the extension provides motorists a direct connection to Skyway 1 and 2 and SMC’s recently opened Skyway Stage 3.
As work on the southbound section is about to enter the advanced phase, the Skyway management advised motorists to take alternative routes as they close the road beside the Alabang viaduct.
The Skyway Extension project, conceptualized and fully funded by SMC, started in late 2019. The northbound section stretches from Susana Heights to Sucat. It is seen to decongest SLEX and Skyway at-grade traffic by diverting motorists straight to the elevated Skyway.
“You can be at NLEX in 25-30 minutes instead of two to three hours, and bypass the usual traffic chokepoints such as Alabang, Magallanes, Edsa. This will be a big relief to so many motorists and will do a lot to ease traffic in southern Metro Manila, including on public roads leading to SLEX and Skyway,” he added.

The Skyway, officially the Metro Manila Skyway System or Metro Manila Skyway, is an elevated highway serving as the main expressway in Metro Manila, Philippines, connecting the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and enabling access to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport via the NAIA Expressway (NAIAX). The expressway is the first fully grade-separated highway in the Philippines and one of the longest elevated highways in the world with a total length of approximately 42.79 kilometers (26.59 mi).
The expressway goes above the existing alignment of some major highways in Metro Manila and San Juan River. It crosses through the highly urbanized areas of Caloocan, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Parañaque and Muntinlupa while relieving major thoroughfares from heavy traffic. Currently, the entire length is accessible exclusively to Class 1 vehicles such as cars, vans, motorcycles above 400cc, pick-up trucks, and SUVs. Skyway connects the North Luzon Expressway in the north and South Luzon Expressway in the south. It goes above several major roads in Metro Manila with entry and exit ramps leading to strategic locations. The expressway is subdivided into stages which consists of Stage 3 from the North Luzon Expressway near its Balintawak toll plaza in Caloocan to Buendia Exit in Makati, Stage 1 from Buendia Exit to Bicutan Exit in Parañaque, Stage 2 from Bicutan Exit to South Station (Alabang-Zapote) Exit in Alabang, Muntinlupa, and the partially operational Extension Project from the Skyway Main Line toll plaza to the South Luzon Expressway near Soldiers Hills entirely in Muntinlupa. Stages 1 and 2 are collectively known as the South Metro Manila Skyway Project.[7]
From 1999 until 2020, Skyway was a dual-three lane elevated carriageway for the majority of its length (6 total lanes; 3 per direction); separated by a central median barrier, until it was expanded up to a total of 7 lanes from Alabang to Balintawak after the construction of Skyway Stage 3 and Extension Project.[8]
From the North Luzon Expressway, the Skyway begins south of the Balintawak Toll Plaza in Caloocan.[2] A possible connection to a future toll road to the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan can be found on that exit.[9] After crossing EDSA, it then veers east towards Circumferential Road 3 (C-3), particularly the Sgt. Rivera and Araneta Avenues. The expressway moves southward above Araneta Avenue until it reaches the San Juan River. Skyway then follows the river's curves up to the mouth at the Pasig River in Manila. It then veers towards the San Miguel Yamamura packaging plant (owned by the same Skyway concessionaire San Miguel Corporation) in Pandacan, where its 1.2-kilometer (0.75 mi) elevated connecting road to NLEX Connector in Santa Mesa branches off it, parallel to the Philippine National Railway (PNR) tracks.
