Munda is the largest settlement on the island of New Georgia in the Western Province of Solomon Islands, and consists of a number of villages. It is located at the southwestern tip (called Munda Point) of the western end of New Georgia, and the large Roviana Lagoon is just offshore.

On its first international flight in Solomon Airlines livery on 7th March 2020, our A320-200 H4-SIB, touched down in Munda in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands en-route to Honiara. Following landing, the flight was greeted by a traditional water cannon salute.

The De Havilland Canada DHC-8,[4] commonly known as the Dash 8, is a series of turboprop-powered regional airliners, introduced by de Havilland Canada (DHC) in 1984. DHC was later bought by Boeing in 1988, then by Bombardier in 1992; then by Longview Aviation Capital in 2019, reviving the de Havilland Canada brand. A Quick Morning Visit to Gizo, Solomon Islands
There isn't much to see in the little town of Gizo, on Ghizo Island in the Solomon Islands. One street. A market. And only one souvenir shop selling exquisite wood carvings; needless to say, the best with exquisitely high prices!
We were supposed to visit Kennedy Island in the p.m., where JFK swam to after PT-109 was sunk by the Japanese but a developer bought the island, destroyed its reef and is busy building overwater cottages. Sigh...
