The beautiful culture before the War | Port Sudan

I traveled to Port Sudan, Kassala, and then back to Khartoum to experience some of the ancient beauty traditions and other activities.

In Port Sudan I attempted scuba diving, met the Beja Tribe, and went to a huge fish market.

In Kassala, I made some friends who took me to the dry beach, to meet the Rashaida tribe, and a picnic under the Mango trees. The Rashaida tribe showed me their traditional sword dancing and then invited me for lunch.

Back in Khartoum I saw a Sufi ceremony, went to the camel market, got henna and tried Dukhan.

PYRAMIDS IN SUDAN | Sudan’s Pyramids of Meroe | Sudan | 2021

Did you know that there are pyramids in Sudan? No, we didn’t either!

We were thrilled to learn about the Pyramids of Meroe and made a plan to check them out.

There are over 200 Nubian Pyramids located in Sudan. These ones are the quickest and easiest to access, but if you have your own vehicle you could see them all very easily.

ABOUT US:

HI THERE! WE ARE JILL AND CHRIS!
In 2017 we packed up our life, and quit the 9-5 to head out into the world. We came with no expectations, we only wanted to experience life. Since then, we have packed more fun and adventure into our lives than we ever could have imagined.

Being on the road now for over three years, has brought with it the freedom to explore what it is that we really want to do with our lives, the time to pay attention to the things that are truly important to us, and the adventure to really make life fun and interesting once again.

We left seeking an exciting life, and we have not been disappointed!

We mostly travel without a plan, we just let the chips fall where they may, then figure it out as we go. We find that in doing this, the most unexpected and interesting opportunities present themselves, and it truly keeps us on our toes.

We are on a mission of painting the planet one mural at a time and we enjoy spreading love through our art whenever we find the opportunity to do so.

Khartoum - Sudan

KHARTOUM, Sudan: Best Places 2024! ????????????????

Travel to Khartoum, Sudan in 2023 and visit both Khartoum City and Omdurman. In one day, a Sudan tourist can experience the Omdurman Market, the largest in the region, the Sufi Muslim Whirling Dervishes, the Sudan National Museum, Fish Market and take a boat ride on the Nile River where you can see the meeting of the Blue and White Nile. Only in Khartoum can you see the confluence of both Nile Rivers.

At the Omdurman market I experienced life as a local Sudanese person and was treated to incredible hospitality - Sudanese people love America and I feel the same way about Sudan!

The Sufi Muslim Whirling Dervish ceremony is held only on Friday nights, so make sure to plan your Sudan trip so that you don't miss this incredible event! Cheers, Phil

Foreigner Travels SUDAN (What It's Like?) ????????

Sudan Travel Vlog! I travelled through Sudan in early 2020. The journey included almost being homeless for a night, being rescued by a local, failed hitch hiking, massive fuel shortages, bus strikes, remote pyramids in the desert, people riding on rooftops through the highway and exploring off the beaten path. The majority of Sudan was extremely safe during my time of travel. Meaning walking alone at night with my cellphone out was fine, not something you can do in many countries. I hope you guys gained some knowledge of an unknown country today, enjoy!

SUDAN VLOG - FIRST WEEK | Initial Challenges in Khartoum | الأسبوع الأول في السودان

After an interesting adventure crossing the Egypt/Sudan border by bus, we found ourselves in a country like no other. First and foremost amongst our problems was the fact that the ATM's don't accept foreign cards! We were certainly NOT prepared for this as we only had $95USD in cash with us coming from Egypt.

So, our first week certainly presented us with some problems. So far on our travels, things usually fall into place for us pretty easily. But Sudan has certainly challenged our senses, most notably our patience!

Walking the Streets of Sudan (is it safe?)

Khartoum is the hottest capital city in the world of the country that used the be the largest in Africa until 2014 when it separated form it's sister in the South. The country also has more pyramids than Egypt and it's the place where the NIle merges. Welcome to Sudan!

Sudan National Museum

Sudan National Museum - An episode of series: Meroë Pyramids Sudan The Complete Guide.
Egypt's iconic ancient pyramids are famous around the world and are undoubtedly one of the biggest draws for visitors to North Africa. The Great Pyramid of Giza, for example, is recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and remains one of Egypt's most popular tourist attractions. In comparison, Sudan's Meroë Pyramids are relatively unknown; and yet, they are less crowded, more numerous and steeped in fascinating history. .
Situated approximately 155 miles/250 kilometers northeast of Khartoum near the banks of the River Nile, the ancient city of Meroë is home to almost 200 pyramids. Constructed out of large blocks of sandstone in the Nubian style, the pyramids look quite different to their Egyptian counterparts, with smaller bases and more steeply sloped sides. However, they were built for the same purpose - to serve as a burial site and statement of power, in this case for the kings and queens of the ancient Meroitic Kingdom. .
