Highlights from Red Sea diving in April 2013. The Hammer Head shark encounter was definitely the highlight. The great visibility was, however, what I remember the most about this trip.

The underwater footage was shot in high definition with Sony HDR 550 in a Light and Motion Bluefin 550 housing with Magic Filter, a Fathom 90 wide angle lens and two Sola 1200 video lights also from L&M. Top side videos were shot on Nikon D7000.
The post production was done in Final Cut Pro X and Davinci Resolve 9. MPEG encoding for YouTube was done using Compressor 4.
This is Wadi Lahami, Fury Shoals (4k) - Red Sea Diving Safari
Wonderful diving in the 'deep south' of The Red Sea in Egypt at Wadi Lahami - Fury Shoals.
Wadi Lahami is the most southern village of Red Sea Diving Safari (180 km south of Marsa Alam airport). From there we made 16 dives on the world famous Fury Shoals. Wadi Lahami Village gives the opportunity to dive on the reefs that were previously only accessible for liveaboards.
The Fury Shoals offer very nice reef structures such as caves and reef blocks that allow the sunlight to enter beautifully. Several wrecks can also be found there are slowly overgrown by corals.
Diving locations in the south are still quiet, so they work like a magnet on all kinds of fish and other marine life, beautiful coral gardens full of life are everywhere, and a group of dolphins lives at the famous 'Sataya reef' and can be seen while snorkeling.
Dive sites: Sharbour, Torfa, Lahami South, Habili Gazella, Abu Galawa Small (wreck dive), Shaab Claudia, Abu Galawa Big (wreck dive), Banana Reef, Iron Garden (wreck dive), Shaab Angel, Shaab Malahi, Habili Daisy and Satayah (snorkeling with dolphins).
This movie is the result of around 12 hours of 4k video footage. Shot in December 2019.

The Red Sea is home to amazing Reefs with teeming marine life, pelagic fishes, Reef Sharks, Dolphins, and even the very rare Dugong. The Red Sea can be divided into two parts:
The North Red Sea with the resort destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and the more laidback Dahab (which is the most popular part). Sharm El Sheikh offers excellent wreck diving and even maybe the best wreck dive in the world, the Thistlegorm Wreck! Not far from there is the Ras Mohammed National Park with great wall diving and amazing coral formations. The second biggest diving destination in Egypt is Hurghada. It offers good conditions to learn scuba diving as well as great wreck diving with 4 beautiful wrecks to explore in Abu Nuhas Reef. Dahab located a bit more North has a more chilled-out atmosphere and is famous worldwide for the Dahab Blue Hole.

To conclude, one or two tips for our friends underwater filmmakers or photographers: focus on the magic hours for filming, 6 a.m. and 3 p.m./4 p.m. The light is strong and the visibility pretty good, so up to 20 meters deep you won't really need a filter (if your white balance is properly adjusted). Beyond 20 meters, plan to take a red filter with you.

I went on a SCUBA diving liveaboard boat in Hurghada, Egypt, to dive the Red Sea. What's a liveaboard? I'm glad you asked - this video will tell you all about it!
A liveaboard boat is basically what it sounds like. You sleep on board, and your days are filled with diving, eating, sunbathing and having a relaxing time in general. I went on a boat called Amelie, on a Best of Hurghada trip. Previously I've also gone on a trip to the Straits of Tiran, to see the many wrecks of the Red Sea.
In this video I show you everything you can expect from the boat, and from the trip in general. Food, lounge areas, diving, and a short introduction to what SCUBA diving involves - this video walks you through all of that.
But there's more. A liveaboard is a perfect place to meet new people and exchange travel stories, and to get to know the amazing crew that works on board. And you're constantly surrounded by the amazing beauty of the Red Sea itself.
I also show you a bit of what you can see underwater in this video. Everything from moray eels, to bannerfish, batfish, lionfish, tiny crabs and shrimp, to playful dolphins who may greet you both when diving and when snorkling at the surface.
SCUBA diving is something that I recommend everyone to try - and the Red Sea is an absolutely amazing place to see.

Liveaboard Scuba Diving Adventure in the Egyptian Red Sea (2023), Part One
Highlights of our Red Sea aboard MY Blue Adventurer.
Part one explorers the best of our reef dives at Ras Disha, Big Brother, Little Brother, Torbia Arbaa, Ras Abu Soma, Panorama Reef, Small Giftun, El Mina, El Fanous East, Shaab El Erg and Umm Gamar.
We had some awesome dives, seeing thresher, grey reef, oceanic white tip and guitar sharks, dolphins, moray eels, napolean wrasse, batfish, lionfish, countless clownfish and many other fabulous marine life.
Collectively, over 6 days, our group completed 8,591 minutes / 143.18 hours underwater, 153 dives and logged an average dive time of 56 minutes. Not bad at all! The water was a beautiful warm 27 degrees on average.
