Best Pizza in Rome, Italy Travel Food Video Transcript:

Well guys this is an exciting day because today's video is all about pizza. We've been in Rome for a few days now and we have saved the best for last. We're going to be eat at place called Antico Forno Roscioli (Marco Roscioli Il Forno).

This is a bakery and pizzeria that has been around forever. Yeah. It is a bit of an institution here. Early 19th century. It is like 11 in the morning so a bit early for lunch but I'm hoping they already have a few pizzas ready. Exactly. We're going to go in and eat pizza.

We are starting with our first batch of pizza and they had three different kinds ready. So we have mozzarella. Rossa which just means red. And pizza bianca. Which is just plain. This is all about the bread and the texture of the bread.

Oh my gosh it all looks so good. And apparently we have more pizza coming out of the oven in 3 minutes.

I love it. It is just a little bit of tomato sauce and then you have the pieces of mozzarella. A little bit of olive oil drizzled on top.

This is amazing. It is not just a pizzeria. It is a bakery.

Pumpy is going to be trying pumpkin pizza so let's try that.

Were you just given a complimentary pizza. Yes, probably because we're buying so much pizza. Oh my gosh. This is pizza bianca with mortadella.

Lots of pumpkin? Look at that. Smothered in pumpkin. Is it kind of a sweet pizza or? Oh yeah. It is really juicy too.

The last two ones to try. Mine is black cabbage. Yes. It has going to have a smoky flavor. That is what the guy told us. You can tell it is really crispy. And a little bitter he said.

And Dad you're having what? Broccoli and pork sausage. Cheers. Let's do a pizza cheers.

Alright we've had our pizza. We are stuffed beyond belief. We actually had the master plan of going to get gelato right after. We're like no. We've got to delay that.

And that fed a whole family - the 4 of us. It only came to 31 Euros. I thought that was fantastic value. It was less than 8 Euros per person. And we pigged out. There is no other way to put it.

We're going to be going to a famous gelato spot next. And now gelato. We are at Giolitti. Sam's parents have already gone inside so we're going to follow suit and see what flavors are available. The boys and their ice creams.

What flavors did you get? I had Roman Holiday

Incredible Pizza, Espresso, Fall-Apart Tender Oxtail, and Vatican City Attractions - ROME, ITALY!

►Camera gear I use:

Day 15: Rome, Italy - To start our day in Rome we first headed over to the Pantheon and had some amazing espresso. Then we visited the Pantheon, which is one of the most famous attractions in Rome. We had pizza for lunch and then walked over to the Vatican City. After doing some of top things to do in the Vatican City, we ate Roman Jewish food for dinner.

1:07 La Casa Del Caffè Tazza D'oro - There were two cafes I wanted to check out, so the first, located right next to the Pantheon was La Casa Del Caffè Tazza D'oro. The espresso was awesome. Price - .90 EUR per coffee ($1.00)

2:54 Pantheon - One of the most famous attractions in Rome is the Pantheon, and although I had seen it the day before, I didn’t have a chance to go in. So today we admired the amazing Pantheon.

4:23 Gelateria Della Palma - Right around the corner from the Pantheon is a gelato shop that has so many different flavors, it will drive you crazy trying to decide what to order. Since we arrived early, this gelato shop still wasn’t busy. Ying especially enjoyed the gelato. Gelato - 3.5 EUR ($3.92)

6:09 Sant'Eustachio Il Caffè - I’m pretty crazy for coffee, so we stopped into another famous coffee shop to have another cup of espresso. They make one of the creamiest espressos I’ve ever had, even though it doesn’t include milk. Coffee - 1.30 EUR ($1.45)

7:43 Antico Forno Roscioli - One of the most famous foods to eat in Rome is pizza, especially when you want a quick bite to eat. Roscioli as its known for short is a full bakery, and their pizza is amazing. I started with a tomato and cheese pizza, followed by some slices with other toppings. Total price - 9.94 EUR ($11.12)

12:32 Vatican City - The Vatican City, a city state within Rome and ruled by the Pope is a must visit when you’re in Rome. I bought tickets online and we first headed to the Vatican Museums, one of the world’s most famous art museums. Along with the Sistine Chapel, I especially enjoyed seeing the Raphael Rooms. Vatican Museums Online tickets - 20 EUR ($22.37) per person

17:01 St. Peter's Basilica - After the Vatican Museums, we walked over to St. Peter’s Basilica, and after walking around for a while, I decided to climb to the top of St. Peter's Basilica Dome, which was one of the highlights of visiting the Vatican City for me - 6 EUR ($6.71).

20:53 Roman Jewish Food at Nonna Betta Restaurant - There’s a long history of Jews in Rome, and Roman Jewish food is common in Rome especially in a certain area of the city. I didn’t want to leave Rome without eating some Roman Jewish food, so we ate dinner at a restaurant called Nonna Betta. The artichoke was good, the pasta was good, but the real winner dish for me was the oxtail. Total price - 49 EUR ($54.82)

Day 14 in Rome was an excellent day of visiting attractions in the Vatican City and eating delicious pizza and Roman Jewish food.

Hi, everyone.

This is Bojan from The Roman Guy.

We're here in our favorite district of Rome, Trastevere.

Trastevere is known for many awesome places.

One of them is the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Today, we're going to explore something different, La Renella, our favorite bakery.

La Renella is famous for making bread, and the Roman style pizza. What makes Roman-style pizza so different?

Well, here we call it pizza al taglio.

This literally means that your pizza will be cut in slice, weighed on a scale, and given to you.

You can pick whatever you want and also the size of the pizza.

We're outside of the legendary bakery, La Renella, they've been making bread since the time Napoleon ruled here in Rome.

I'm pretty hungry, let's head inside.

I want to sing you a song about pizza.

Buongiorno.

Ciao, buongiorno.

Posso ordinare un pezzo della margherita?

Quant'e?

Undici euro.

One trick to getting a discount, is to carry large bills with you.

If they don't have enough change, they might round it down and you'll end up with a euro discount.

Quant'e?

Undici euro

Undici?

Undici.

Prego.

Non hai un'euro?

No mi dispiace.

Va bene dieci.

Grazie.

Getting a discount depends on the delivery, but also on the mood of the person behind the counter.

If the cashier woke up on the wrong side of the bed, you're not getting that discount.

Undici. Non hai un'euro?

No mi dispiace. Diciamo dieci?

Dieci? Va bene dieci dai.

Okay.

This is good pizza.

I'm really happy with the results.

The Roman Guy wishes you a good luck.

That's how you get your discount on pizza.

I hope it works for you too.

See you soon in Rome.

AUTHENTIC Italian Pizza in Rome - Hidden Gem Pizza Place

Going to Rome? Have your Pizza here!!! This dish of Italian origin is one of the most popular and well-known foods on planet Earth.

Mentioning Italy, there's now way not to think of pizza. Pizza can be found everywhere, and especially in Rome where it satisfies the cravings from millions of tourists. There are an abundance of decent places, and then there are a handful which are highly regarded. Pizzarium is one of those... My goal was to find a little less busy and touristy place and I believe I was successful. Pizza e Mozzarella lies on a backstreet in the centre of Rome close to the Pantheon. Pizza is served al taglio (by the slice) and you pay for the weight - the optimal concept. The pizza chef seemed really passionate about his job. He was genuinly friendly and kind and his attitude really added to the experience. If you ever go to Rome, then enjoy some authentic Italian Pizza at this place!

Lastly, Rome is one of the most fequently visited cities in Europe. This means a higher cost of living and thus relatively expensive prices at restaurants and so forth. However, Pizza is still value for money, and thus the perfect fast food while sightseeing Rome's rich history and culture.
