Dream Sleeper (ドリームスリーパー) is a luxury overnight bus hotel (高速バス夜行バス) with the most expensive first class seats in Japan! (日本で一番高いファーストクラス席).
This time, I traveled about 550 km (340 miles) from Tokyo to Osaka, taking 8 hours (大阪→東京). No shoes allowed on the bus. And when you close the individual door, your seat will become a private room. (土足禁止完全個室).
Right now, it only runs on weekends, so I recommend checking the official website as soon as you decide on your travel plans.

* The large windows were well cleaned, not even a water stain.
* It was great that it became a completely private room when you closed the door.

I Tried Japan's $117 Overnight BUS HOTEL from Osaka to Tokyo

This time, I took the most luxurious overnight bus of JR Bus in Japan, Dream Rulier, from Osaka to Tokyo. I chose Precious Class Seat which costs 13,500JPY/117USD including the fare. You can also choose the lower class seat, Advance Class costing 8,800JPY/76USD. It's cheaper yet more comfortable than normal class seats of Shinkansen, so I can highly recommend this bus for your future travel between Osaka and Tokyo.

Sunrise Express Izumo & Seto (寝台特急サンライズ出雲瀬戸号) is Japan's only overnight sleeper train which runs everyday (日本で唯一の毎日運行の夜行列車). Today, I book the cheapest private room called “Solo” (最安の個室 B寝台個室ソロ) from Tokyo Station to Izumoshi Station (東京駅から出雲市駅). It's a 950km (590 miles) trip that takes about 12 hours. When booking a Solo room, even if you are a foreign tourist with a JR pass, you will need to go to the ticket office and pay an additional sleeper private room fee in advance. In addition, I recommend you reserve a seat on the right side. This is because you can see other trains and a nice view of Lake Shinji. When you arrive in Izumo, it's a good idea to visit the famous Izumo Taisha Shrine (officially Izumo Oyashiro 出雲大社いずもおおやしろ) and eat the local specialty, Wariko Soba noodles (割子蕎麦).
