VTA 0137

(1-7-20) Yes, I actually managed to get a film retrieved from my ride on VTA 0137 on the new 523 rapid along santa Clara. Although in the end, there was a huge buffer:
So, the driver is upset because a reckless biker almost hit us, right. i was not worrisome as this driver would let me take a picture of the front of this bus, right?
Complete opposite. he ran outside and yelled at me for filming. Ever since, this has lead me to one thing. Always be careful when taking photos of buses and any other types of transit, and I encourage you to do the same.
I had to contact the advisor at VTA about that issue, and thankfully, they cleared it out.

Riding NYC SUBWAY During PandemiC: Is it Safe?

Riding THE NYC SUBWAY during Pandemic Is it Safe?

We take a ride on the #NYC subway during the Coronavirus lockdown to see if it safe to travel during the pandemic. We start our subway trip in Manhattan at the usually very busy Union Square / 14 Street subway hub which connects the 4,5,6,N,R,Q,W and L subway lines. Union Square is fairly empty of people at 9:45 AM and we take the 4 express train to the City Hall / Chambers Street station and transfer to the J local train to travel to Bushwick, Brooklyn. The car we ride in is empty at times and the people who are traveling are all safely wearing masks. We look out the window of the first subway car as we ride above ground in Brooklyn and take note of neighborhood sites and buildings. We exit the subway at the Gates Avenue stop on the border of the Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods of Brooklyn at around 10:20 AM.

Note that face coverings are REQUIRED while riding the New York subway system.

About JamesandKarla:

Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.

In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.

We made it our mission to thoroughly document unique 'mom-and-pop' stores when we began to notice the alarming rate at which they were disappearing. Our critically acclaimed books include “STORE FRONT: The Disappearing Face of New York”, “New York Nights”, “STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved” and “Broken Windows-Graffiti NYC”.

Come see the city & subscribe to our channel :)
