This Abandoned Building Became a LUXURY HOTEL ⭐ MEGA TOUR & Staycation Vlog

For the next three nights, we're staying at a historic landmark tucked away in over 300 acres of forest and it's only a 30-minute drive from Seattle! The building was originally completed in 1931 and operated as a seminary for about 45 years. When the seminary closed in 1976, the building sat empty for 45 years.

Upon decades of deterioration, the property went through a $57 million restoration. While preserving its history, the building transformed into a luxury boutique hotel called The Lodge with a restaurant, spa, two bars and an art gallery. There’s also a gymnasium where you can play pickleball! The Lodge also hosts weekly yoga classes, live music, afternoon high tea, weddings, corporate meetings and more.

To learn more about The Lodge at St Edward Park and planning your stay:

Thanks to The Lodge for hosting our stay and sponsoring this video! We hope you enjoy our tour of this historical landmark. I visited The Lodge twice before for fun (once for lunch and once for cocktails) before this collaboration. Thrilled to sleepover on this third visit and share the extensive tour! RV Renovation Hacks: Marble Epoxy Countertops! ⚒️ ????️????

Epoxy can go over your existing countertops, and we're pouring it over three-quarter-inch plywood.

???? What you need:
3/4 inch plywood, stone coat counter top kit in carrara marble, spray paint for accent colors, drill with paint mixing bit

✅ First, paint the plywood and then give it a quick sand.
✅ Let that paint dry for 24 hours, and then wipe it clean.
✅ Double tape all of the edges of the countertops off really well.
✅ Pour Part B, the catalyst, into the bucket, and then part A, which is the epoxy.
✅ Mix for at least 5 minutes.
✅ For a natural pour, separate the epoxy into different containers and then mix in colors. I wanted a white base, so that's my primary color, and then I added some accents, a little grey, and a little gold!
✅ Pour the epoxy over your surface.
✅ After an hour, peel that tape back and gently coax the epoxy over the edges. The epoxy is self-leveling, so it WILL even out.
✅ Let it cure overnight or for 24 hours, and then sand the bottom drips.

Golden Renewal: Understanding Kintsugi Repair

ZOOM Gallery Talk
Golden Renewal: Understanding Kintsugi Repair
Recorded July 22, 2021

Alluring and intriguing, kintsugi has lately caught on in Western popular culture and has shown up in various conversations well beyond art. For centuries, this Japanese form of lacquer repair with gold has been used to restore functional ceramics. Meaning ‘gold joining,’ kintsugi is interconnected with the long history of tea culture and the craft tradition in Japan.

More recently, kintsugi has found resonance with those who seek a deeper meaning in the golden veins running along the cracks of a once-broken plate or cup. Our panelists of diverse backgrounds will illuminate the many aspects of kintsugi that will allow us to better understand its origins, technique, and application for collectors and connoisseurs of Japanese art.

↠ A BIT ABOUT US
We're Chesca and Ben, and with our two pups River & Scout (???? ???? ) we live and travel full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. We spent the past 2 years road tripping as much of Europe as we could, from the wild coasts of Portugal to the Syrian border in Turkey, tackling lockdowns and a van re-build along the way. But now, we're feeling like a new challenge. In the summer of 2022, we'll be shipping our van from the UK to Canada, on a mission to drive her all the way to Argentina!

It is important that you carefully read and understand the information provided to make an informed decision about your dental treatment.
Procedure:
The following dental procedure may be performed to correct and prevent tooth wear by increasing the vertical height of your jaw:
1. Vertical Height Increase with Composites: This procedure involves adding composite resin material to the chewing surfaces of your teeth to increase the height of your bite. It is used to correct and prevent tooth wear caused by bruxism (grinding or clenching of teeth), aging, or other factors that can lead to flattened or worn down teeth. The composite resin material is carefully shaped and bonded to your teeth to restore their natural shape, function, and aesthetics.
Benefits:
The following benefits may be associated with increasing the vertical height of your jaw with composites:
1. Restored ability to chew, speak, and function normally
2. Prevention of further tooth wear and damage
3. Improved appearance of teeth and smile
4. Increased self-confidence and self-esteem
5. Long-lasting and durable results
Risks:
The following risks may be associated with increasing the vertical height of your jaw with composites:
1. Discomfort or sensitivity after the procedure
2. Nerve damage or root canal treatment in rare cases
3. Tooth decay or gum disease if oral hygiene is not maintained
4. Dislodgement or fracture of the restoration in rare cases
5. Allergic reaction to the materials used in rare cases
6. Additional treatment or replacement of the restoration may be needed in the future
Alternatives:
The following alternatives may be considered instead of increasing the vertical height of your jaw with composites:
1. No treatment if the tooth wear is minimal or does not cause any functional or aesthetic problems
2. Dental crowns or veneers for more extensive tooth wear or cosmetic issues
3. Orthodontic treatment for bite correction or alignment issues
4. Other restorative treatments, such as dental implants or bridges, for missing teeth or severe tooth wear
Consent:
By signing this informed consent document, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the information provided about increasing the vertical height of my jaw with composites. I have been given the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers to my satisfaction. I understand the benefits, risks, and alternatives associated with this procedure and agree to undergo the recommended treatment. I also understand that the results of the treatment may vary depending on my individual situation and that additional treatment or replacement may be necessary in the future. I give my consent for the dental procedure related to increasing the vertical height of my jaw with composites.

17 Days in Uncharted Wilderness | Where the Waters Begin | Full Documentary

Where The Waters Begin documents a 17 day, 300km expedition by canoe across the geographic heart of Quebec and expansive wilderness of Eeyou Istchee. Our goal is to descend the remote Tichégami River; a river perhaps never attempted by modern paddlers. The route begins in the remote and rugged Otish Mountains. Following in the footsteps of the Cree peoples, our journey would guide us along headwater courses, who shepherd us across the height of land and out beyond the abyss of Quebec's largest lake.

This is the full length documentary of our expedition across the wilderness of Eeyou Istchee. This long documentary version combines the four episodes from this adventure with a few editing tweaks.
