Is ZEEROVER ARUBA a TOURIST TRAP? Judge for yourself!
Today I take you and a couple from Peru to the Zeerover restaurant in Aruba. I just met them on the streets of Aruba and surprised them with a free lunch and see if they like the popular place in Savaneta or consider it a no go. You go to the window, pick your fish, freshly caught. They fry it up in it's natural state, shell or skin on. You pick your sides, fries, plantains, salads. It is the freshest food you will find on the island
This local restaurant serves seafood right out of the ocean. The catch of the day might include wahoo, snapper, barracuda or kingfish, and when available, big shrimps. All of these can be accompanied with fries, plantains, onions in vinegar (pika), and pan bati (Aruban cornbread). Enjoy great seafood and a spectacular sunset at this restaurant
The vibe here is very laid-back and this place is popular with both locals and tourists. On your way in there’s a counter on the left where you can purchase fresh fish to go, or to enjoy on the pier. While the menu is simple and features one or two daily fresh catches, along with some local sides, the backdrop is a most gorgeous ocean view. Prices? Local. A very good deal.

We Reviewed 8 Restaurants in Aruba | Must Watch Before You Visit!!
This is the 5th time that we've been to Aruba together. After not going since 2018, we made the trip this year with Rach's parents (Rose and Fred) and her Aunt (Cindy). One of the things we like best about visiting Aruba is the dining, it's actually really, really, good!! Probably some of the best in all the Caribbean. In this episode, we wanted to document our dining experience specifically. We went to some familiar places and some that were our first time dining there. Zee Rover is a restaurant in Aruba. Zee Rover translates from dutch to mean pirate. If this is how pirates cook sign me up. If you ever find yourself in Aruba, you have to get out of the tourist oriented area and travel down to Savaneta. This fishing town has a fantastic place to eat. It is right on the water and it is very casual. Just the way we like it. The fish is super fresh, the fisherman bring it straight to the restaurant. This is a must if you love seafood.

Zeerover is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen’s town of Savaneta in the island Aruba. This Fatty Friendly and affordable location is packed with big flavor and has us wanting more.
Recommendations:
- Get the onions to go with... everything.
- Just when you think you’ve ordered enough shrimp, order some more. Them critters are addictive!
- Their cornbread is a fusion of Johnny cake and cornbread. Either way, it’s yummy.
- Tip well. Prices are so low and the quality of the food provided combined with the level of service rendered, will inspire you and you’ll feel good about it.
- Get a to-go box. Trust me, you’ll want more later.
