Rarotonga is a beautiful island, green and good for many activities. From mountain trekking to snorkeling and fishing.

Having visited Hawaii a number of times, we hunted for an island destination with a more chilled out vibe, less tourism, and friendly people. We come across the Cook Islands and decided to book after looking at numerous videos and reading various guidebooks.
We travelled from London Via LAX, and then onward to Raro. Our return journey saw us carry on in the same direction, to Auckland, then Via Singapore to London!
We stayed on the largest island 'Rarotonga' but also paid a visit to Aitutaki, one of the most stunning places I have ever seen. We went fishing, kayaking, hiking, snorkelling and had an amazing time meeting some amazing people! The Cook Islands is an archipelago nation comprised of 15 islands in the central South Pacific. Spread over 2 million sq km, they are remote but still accessible, modern yet traditional. Rarotonga is the largest of them all, where volcanic peaks, ridges and rainforest dominate its beautiful interior. Kia orana!

Rarotonga, Cook Islands
Rarotonga, the capital of our friendly little corner of the Pacific, is a very small island at only 32 kms around the outer perimeter. It takes approximately 40 minutes to drive around the island by car or motor scooter, which means all services and amenities on the island are just 20 minutes from wherever you are.
There are only 16,000 of us living in the Cook Islands. 10,000 live on Rarotonga with the rest living on 12 of our 15 islands. We are Polynesian, naturally friendly and openly welcome visitors to our shores like we have been doing for the past millennium or two. Everyone speaks English as well as the native Polynesian language.
Rarotonga is the transport hub of the Cook Islands with frequent connections from New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, North America (via Los Angeles) and South America (via Tahiti or Auckland).

The resort was abandoned for various financial issues and is believed to be on cursed ground. On our way to visit the nearby waterfall a villager also allows access to the resort after paying a small fee.

4K street view RAROTONGA Cook Islands riding around the back road of the island part2
You'll be watching at around 37mins length of 4K street view in Rarotonga ,Cook Islands. I either ride the scooter or in the car, or hitchhike to film the back roads on the island. These footages were made in 2020 during covid 19 after shot down of the world. So you can see the empty streets with absolutely no tourists.
