I drove from Bariloche in Patagonia to Mendoza with a friend I met while I was hitchhiking. The landscapes were varied and beautiful, and definitely the best way to see the country.

HOW TO DRIVE RUTA 40 ARGENTINA - NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED!

HOW TO DRIVE RUTA 40 ARGENTINA - NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED!

In this video we arrive in the city of Cordoba in Argentina and hire ourselves a car to explore the famous routes in the area. We started off by heading along Ruta 40 with it’s high altitude, crazy long straight road Recta Del Tin Tin and incredible cacti filled scenery.

After a few hours driving and exploring along the way we arrived in the small town of Cachi in the Calchaquí Valley of northwestern Argentina for lunch before jumping back on Ruta 40 where we didn’t get quite as far as we had hoped due to the crazy bumpy roads we had a slight change in plans!

Next time!

Join us next time for part 2 where we wake up in the middle of this other worldly landscape as we finish off Argentinas epic Ruta 40, before finally making it to Cafayate in time for lunch at a beautiful bodega and making the drive back along route 68 with all it’s famous sights along the way.

ARGENTINA TRANSPORTATION: Best Ways of GETTING AROUND ARGENTINA fast, safe & cheaply. FLIGHT HACKS

Here are some of the best ways to get around Argentina and some tips for using its transportation system.

=======================

Fired travel agent wants revenge! Here's the secret to cheap flights:

=======================

Argentina is a vast and diverse country, and getting around can be a challenge. That's why we've created this video to help you navigate the country's transportation network and find the best ways to get around.

One of the most popular options for traveling in Argentina is by bus. The country has an extensive bus network that connects cities and towns throughout the country, and many of the buses are modern and comfortable. Some of the major bus companies include FlechaBus, Andesmar, and Crucero del Norte, and you can book tickets online or at bus terminals.

Another option for getting around Argentina is by train. While the train network isn't as extensive as the bus network, there are still some great options for train travel in Argentina. One of the most popular routes is the Tren a las Nubes, which takes passengers through the stunning Andes Mountains. Other popular train routes include the Train of the End of the World in Ushuaia and the Train to the Clouds in Salta.

If you're looking for more flexibility in your travel plans, renting a car is a great option. Rental cars are widely available in Argentina, and driving can be a great way to explore the country's scenic roads and off-the-beaten-path destinations. Just be aware that driving in Argentina can be challenging, with narrow roads and unpredictable drivers, so make sure you're comfortable with the idea before renting a car.

For longer distances, flying is often the most convenient option. Argentina has several major airlines, including Aerolineas Argentinas and LATAM, and there are frequent flights between the major cities. Just be aware that flights can be expensive, especially during peak travel times, so be sure to book in advance to get the best deals.

Finally, if you're looking for a more unique travel experience, there are several other options to consider. For example, you can take a horseback ride through the Argentine countryside, or even travel by boat along the country's rivers and canals.

In conclusion, Argentina offers a wide range of transportation options for travelers, and choosing the right one depends on your budget, itinerary, and personal preferences. With our video, you'll have all the information you need to make an informed decision and have a great time exploring this beautiful country. So don't miss out - watch our video now and start planning your trip today!

HOW TO TRAVEL NORTHERN ARGENTINA: Quebrada Flechas, Cafayate & Ruta 68

In this video we wake up in the tiny desert town of Angastaco, where we unexpectedly stayed the night before, you can see what happened here if you missed the previous video: we were so glad we stopped when we did because the scenery that we woke up to was not something to miss by driving by in the dark.

After spending a few hours admiring the incredible scenery we completed the drive to Cafayate where we had some lunch and wine in a beautiful bodega called Piatelli which not only had great wine but also amazing food, service and views to die for! We explored the town of Cafayate before making the famous drive along Ruta 68 where we stopped off at all the incredible places along the way and explored them all. This route really is a must drive. We have driven some incredible roads in Argentina but this one really wowed us with it’s dramatic scenery and the places to see along the way between Cafayate and Salta.

Next time!

Join us next time for part 3 of Northern Argentina as we explore the Jujuy region starting with a 4 hour drive North of Salta, to another desert town before making the steep ascent from Humahuaca to another high altitude spectacular feat of nature the Hornacal 14 coloured mountain.

If you can’t wait that long head over to our instagram or for exclusive behind the scenes content we’d love you to join us on patreon: Thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time!

Driving from Chile to Argentina Andes 4K HD

This is the drive from Chile to Argentina taking the Ruta 60 from Santiago Chile to Mendoza Argentina across the Andes mountains.. The ride itself is about 6 to 7 hours depending on Immigration and traffic and weather conditions. The elevation of the high point of the pass is around 12,500 feet above sea level.

The best part of this video begins as the 8:00 minute mark around the Los Caracoles, which is a series of 20 windy turns up the Andes. A great spot for a picture is at Panorama Rio Juncalillo also known as Curva 17. The first 25 minutes of the video are from the Chilean side before we cross the border and ultimately drive a bit into Argentina then hit the Immigration center where the wait is about 40 minutes to process. The bus ride is with CATA International a very nice bus in my opinion.

Driving in ARGENTINA After 20+ Years! ???? ???? | ROAD TRIP to the Sierras of Cordoba, Argentina ????????

It's road trip time! In this episode we say goodbye to Buenos Aires, hop on an early morning flight to Cordoba, and pick up a rental car to drive up to the Sierras. This was my dad's first time driving in Argentina after 20+ years and it was my first time navigating us out of the city and towards the mountains, so we were both a bit nervous. However, once we go out of the city traffic and into the countryside, we could finally relax a bit and enjoy the scenery.

Along the way we stopped to pick up some supplies for the week (you've gotta haul those groceries up the mountain when you're staying in a super rural setting!), and then we settled into our cottage and enjoyed a nice casual meal with empanadas, sandwiches and pastries.

It was the perfect welcome back to the province of Cordoba, and we'll be seeing you soon with some new travel vlogs from this lovely province!

Drive in Argentina from Bolivia. Road to Buenos Aires.

When traveling by car from Bolivia to Buenos Aires, there are several different routes to choose from, depending on your preferences and interests. Here are some of the main options

Northern Route: This route takes you through the northern provinces of Argentina, such as Jujuy, Salta, and Tucuman. It is a scenic drive through deserts, mountains, and valleys. Along the way, you can visit interesting towns and cities such as Purmamarca, Cafayate, and Tafi del Valle. This route is ideal for those interested in natural beauty, indigenous culture, and colonial architecture.

Central Route: This route passes through the provinces of Cordoba and Santa Fe and is a faster and more direct route to Buenos Aires. Along the way, you can visit interesting towns and cities such as Villa Maria, Rosario, and San Nicolas. This route is ideal for those interested in urban culture, history, and architecture.

Southern Route: This route through the provinces of San Luis, Mendoza, and La Pampa is a scenic drive through vineyards, mountains, and meadows. Along the way, you can visit interesting towns and cities such as San Luis, Mendoza, and Santa Rosa. If you are interested in wine, the outdoors, or natural beauty, this is the perfect route for you.

No matter which route you choose, there are a few things to keep in mind when driving in Argentina. First, be aware that speed limits and traffic laws vary from region to region; second, make sure you have a car and all the necessary documents to cross the border. Make sure you have enough food, water, and fuel. Be aware of the weather conditions, especially during the winter months when roads may be closed due to snow and ice.

Ruta 40 Argentina | Road Trip From Argentina Airport

Immortalised by its role in Che Guevara’s ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ Argentina’s Ruta 40 encapsulates the spirit of the country and for that reason, it is often called La Mitica Ruta 40 or The Mythical Route 40.

National Route 40 can practically be considered Argentina’s backbone, running along 5,000 kilometers (3,100 mi), crossing 18 important rivers, 20 National Parks and Natural Reserves and connecting 11 provinces: Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Catamarca, Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy. One of the world’s great driving adventures, running parallel to the Andes Mountains for nearly 5,000 km, this route is the stuff of legends.
1. Day 1: Bariloche to El Bolson
Start your journey from San Carlos de Bariloche – the gateway to Patagonia. Perched on the shores of the vast blue Nahuel Huapi Lake, the alpine town of San Carlos de Bariloche is surrounded by stunning forests, mountains, and lakes as far as the eye can see in the Argentinian Lake District and is one of the best places to visit in Argentina. Spare a day to explore the town, with plenty to do: cycling the Circuito Chico, taking a cable car for stunning views to sampling the famous chocolate at one of the artisan shops. Drive the ‘Route of the 7 Lakes’ which takes you from Bariloche to Villa Angostura and on to San Martin de los Andes, through forests, along rivers, and along the shores of some of the most beautiful lakes in Argentina.
2. Day 2: El Bolson to Esquel
You will travel for 193 km by National Route 40 and later by the provincial roads 15 and 71, which are paved by gravel. There are gas (petrol) stations in El Bolsón and Lago Puelo. This road is long and a little more difficult, but the advantage is that it crosses one of the most spectacular National Parks in all of Argentina – Los Alerces National Park. It borders the Rivadavia, Verde and Futalaufgunen Lakes. You can visit the small towns of Epuyén and Villa Futalaufquen.
3. Day 3: Esquel to Los Antiguos
Drive from the Andean town of Esquel and on to take the mythical Route 40, the longest in the country (4600 km.) On this route, you will experience the dramatic change in landscape and environment, from the woods and mountains of the Patagonian Andes to the windswept Patagonian bushy Steppe. You are most likely to have your first wildlife sighting on the way – Tiny ostriches called choiques (known as Darwin’s rhea) scatter as we drive past and if you look very carefully, you can spot armadillos scuttling across the road.
4. Day 4: Los Antiguos to Lago Posadas
Los Antiguos is the national capital of cherries where you can visit several cherry farms sheltered by Lombardy poplars. This amazing route, the highest in Santa Cruz province, is open only during summer and runs parallel to the Chilean border across the canyons of rivers Jeinimeni and Los Antiguos. The land around – which yesterday presented a medley of brown and grey – turns vivid orange. Enjoy the wilderness and geology of the Austral Andes. Along the route, you will come across rivers and streams, a desert steppe, sheep and, above all, loneliness and a rough landscape. Then you will find yourself at two different coloured lakes scarcely separated by a peninsula – Lakes Posadas and Pueyrredón.
5. Day 5: Lago Posadas – Perito Moreno National Park
One of the most famous tourist attraction in Argentina, visit the Cave of the Hands in the Pinturas River Canyon. (Northwest Santa Cruz Province). The Hands Cave has, as its name implies, a great number of painted hands in negative and positive, contoured in red, ochre, yellow, green white and black colours, many of them are overlapped. There are also guanaco silhouettes, human figures in motion, dots and concentric circles.
6. Day 6: Perito Moreno National Park
Plan an exciting, full day wildlife safari through the Park. Go deep into the wilderness. You can easily observe guanacos, choiques (Rhea Americana), red and grey foxes, Patagonian hares, flamingos, Magellan Geese, Condors. Pumas (Felis concolor) and Huemules (American deer) are very difficult to spot. Sightseeing vistas of the Cordillera de los Andes as well as of a complex lake system that includes Lake Belgrano, Azara, Burmeister, and Lake Nansen.

Dangerous Roads - Uspallata Pass - Paso de la Cumbre - Chile/Argentina

This extremely dangerous road is an old border crossing in the Andes, between Chile and Argentina at an altitude of up to 3800 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains over 5,000 meters and close to Mount Aconcagua, with 6,962 meters. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. The road to the summit is extreme. It’s gravel on both sides and is only accessible in summer months, when there is no snow. Winter temperatures can reach -30°C. It’s the highest point of the old road between the Argentinian city of Mendoza and the Chilean city of Santiago. The road links the towns of Las Cuevas (in Argentina) and Parada Caracoles (in Chile). It’s called E-773 in the Chilean side and RN A006 in the Argentinian side. The road is now principally used as a tourist route to visit the statue Cristo Redentor de los Andes. It’s 17,1km long, but expect more than 50 minutes driving, due its 65 hairpin turns. The road is really steep, with gradients over the 15%.

This track can get very muddy and slippery after rain making it challenging to get through. During and after a storm the road may be impassable, even with a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The road was bypassed by an asphalted tunnel in 1980. It’s located near the scenic Paso Internacional de los Libertadores. The path can be closed anytime because of heavy snows blocking both ends and the threat of rockfall. Your wheels will be astounded at the wonderful views of the mountains spread out before you! They are terrible for drivers who are prone to vertigo. In many places the road is bordered by a drop of hundreds of meters (many hundreds of feet) unprotected by guardrails.
