Welcome to the safest and cleanest city I've seen in Brazil. Translated from Portuguese Cascavel means rattlesnake because long time ago it was discovered having many rattlesnakes, but you don't need to worry about rattlesnakes anymore because this city has good infrastructure.
Centro has a long main road with the other end going to the municipal lake.
It's not too hot and humid. It's cooler than Foz. Cascavel has welcoming people without many tourists. It doesn't have many foreign visitors but it's known to have Bolivians and Argentineans. On several occasions, a local asked me if I'm from Bolivia. Somebody said that they go to Cascavel to study, then stay to work.
Cost of living is similar to that of Foz de Iguacu and it's downtown has several all-you-can eat buffets starting from R$11. That's the cheapest I've ever seen for a buffet in Brazil.
As you can see in the video, the median of the road has a dedicated bike and walking path. You can see people there all hours of the day including late night so to show, it's is safe.
The area near the cathedral is very popular at night because some restaurants stay open and play music to bring in the crowds. This is where I recommend staying and it's also an area with more airbnb options.
Just look for the cathedral Nossa Senhora and across the street you will see the travessa for hanging out.
However this is not the main nightlife area which is 9 blocks west from here.
Even though you can hangout here, if you want to meet people it's better to go between the street Osvaldo Cruz and Manoel Ribas.
The venues here play rock, electronica, funk and a mix. Most of them have a cover charge and in this town it's better to go before midnight, because it's not a crazy city.

While individuals in cities with higher living standards – like Curitiba – may give you a few reasons, this will not be the case for most of the country. In fact, it is more likely that they will upfront inform you of some challenges you will face.

Short Answer: It is if you earn your income in Dollars or Euros (not relying on the unstable Real exchange rates) and is planning to live in a place like Florianopolis, one of the best cities in the world for remote workers, Brazil is a good place to live. For other cases, better check the reasons to move to Brazil (or not) below.
Reasons to move to Brazil
1 – Instability creates opportunities
The constant ups-and-downs of the Brazilian economy have its own idiomatic expression by the locals: Vôo de Galinha (chicken flights), due to its short-lived duration.
While this instability creates the need for safeguards like a low-risk (and often dollarized) savings account, varied investment portfolio, and multiple sources of income, it comes with few advantages.
Not everyone can protect themselves against one or two economic turmoils per decade. Therefore, after each one of them, the survivors have plenty of good-quality real estate, assets, and even companies to invest in for advantageous prices.
2 – The exchange rate is very favourable, for now.
The constant economic turmoils, especially in the last two decades, created an opportunity for people with income in foreign currency: the exchange rates.
Brazilian Reais lost near 70% of their value in the last decade. With this devaluation came some serious bargains, like beachfront apartments in one of the best state capitals for less than 500 dollars per month.
