Puerto del Carmen is a resort town on the southeast coast of the Spanish island of Lanzarote. It’s home to beaches such as sandy Playa Grande and Matagorda, which is known for its steady breeze. Fishing boats cluster at the old town dock, El Varadero. Avenida de las Playas, a beachside boulevard, is lined with shops, restaurants and lively nightclubs. Just inland, Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park has a zoo.
Lanzarote - Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen & Costa Teguise
This holiday included hotel stays at Relaxia Lanzaplayer in Puerto Del Carmen and Occidental Lanzarote Playa in Costa Teguise. Both hotels were great in their own way, Relaxia Lanzaplayer hotel was small clean and cosy whilst Occidental Lanzarote Playa was more on the larger scale with lots to do, fantastic seaviews from the top floor overlooking the pool area and ocean. Food was amazing with lots of quality and variety.
This was our sixth consecutive visit to Lanzarote and have always gone between April – May as it’s the first opportunity to get away for some sunny hot weather, sandy beaches and seaside tavernas.
Weather wasn’t always on our side on this trip and the best we could hope for was sunny intervals and breezy although we made the best of it.
Places we visited on this occasion included Playa Blanca, Playa Dorada Beach, Rubicon Harbour, Café la Ola, Puerto del Carmen, Matagorda, Jameos del Agua, Costa Teguise Square and Costa Teguise Market
With regards to Car Hire, book Auto Reisen, this are by far the best and with no hidden or extra charges it’s a no brainer!

We've always had sunshine over the years to Lanzarote although this was our first year where we experienced a cloudy first couple of days and with everyday being breezy which meant we couldn't do many water sports or swimming.
