Port El Kantaoui is a beautiful resort 10 km from Sousse and 25 km from Monastir Airport in central Tunisia. It was built in 1979 specifically as a tourist centre, around a large artificial harbour that provides mooring with 340 berths for luxury yachts.
With its laid-back charm and stylish vibe, this Tunisian resort is perfect for holidaymakers seeking ultimate relaxation. The architecture has been modelled on the more traditional buildings in Tunisia, complete with narrow streets and arches decorated with beautiful flowers.
Port El Kantaoui is surrounded by dozens of luxury hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops for foreign tourists who frequent the site for its seven kilometres long beach. The beach is one of the best in Tunisia and is covered with soft white sand.
The area around the harbour is stylized as a fishing village. Port El Kantaoui, DMG Marsa l-Qanṭāwī ; many only El-Kantaoui or Kantaoui called), also under the name of Sousse-Nord , is an on the drawing board planned small Tunisian port city . It is located about 10 kilometers north of Sousse . A large number of restaurants, souvenir shops, portraitists , candy and almond sellers dominate the cityscape.
Due to the fact that Tunisia firmly established in the offers of tour operators conquered, those responsible decided mid-70s of the 20th century to build Port El Kantaoui on a picturesque coastline. There should be a holiday center that a golf course is a marina and even high standards. At the end of the 1970s this decision was put into practice. Funding was the El-Kantaoui project with funds from Kuwait , Abu Dhabi and the World Bank .

The modern Port El Kantaoui Marina of the city of Sousse in Tunisia is full of modern fishing boats, motor boats and luxury yachts. Boat trip are available from the marina. There is a pirate ship which takes trips around the bay!
At the marina there are plenty of cafes and restaurant where you can enjoy a fruit juice or beer, or a pleasant lunch or dinner. Food ranges from international cuisine to traditional Tunisian dishes.
