We camped at Ponta Malongane and took a drive about 20 Km down to Ponta Do Ouro and stopped and our favorite place's on the way and stopped and took some photos and made so many good friend along the way. This video ends in Ponta Do Ouro with a few photos taken their as well.

A praia da Ponta do Ouro está localizada dentro de uma área de proteção ambiental, designada Reserva Marinha parcial da Ponta do Ouro, que abrange também as praias de Machangulo, Santa Maria, Ponta Abril, Ponta Mamoli, Ponta Malongane, Ponta Milibangalala e a Ilha de Inhaca.
Esta praia esta próxima da Reserva Especial de Maputo e da República da África do Sul e do Kruger Park, o que lhe permite no mesmo dia fazer um safari para encontrar espécies como elefantes, girafas, hipopótamos e búfalos e ao mesmo tempo aproveitar as ondas do oceano Índico nas férias de verão.

???????????????????????? The Ponta do Ouro beach is one of the main tourist destinations in Mozambique. Along the Ponta do Ouro beach we find several restaurants, diving centers, resorts, and lodges that provide you a beautiful view of the beauty of Mozambique and Maputo.
Something easy to find in Ponta do Ouro are memories from Mozambique to take. The boutiques along the beach have different styles and colors of capulana sarongs, a cloth that represents Mozambican traditions and culture.
Other souvenirs found at Praia do Ponta do Ouro are the sculptures made with black wood and umbila, which carry with them the traits of the Makonde people; the country's drinks, such as Txilar; wooden earrings, and other accessories.
The Ponta do Ouro beach is located within an environmental protection area, called Ponta do Ouro partial marine reserve, which also covers the beaches of Machangulo, Santa Maria, Ponta Abril, Ponta Mamoli, Ponta Malongane, Ponta Milibangalala, and the Island of Inhaca.
This beach is close to the Special Reserve of Maputo and the Republic of South Africa and Kruger Park, which allows you to go on a safari to find species such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, and buffalos and at the same day enjoy the warm water of the Indian ocean during your summer vacation.

Road entering Ponta very much under construction, vehicles stuck on detour, impossible to drive to the beach at that time. Since Ponta was not our final destination, we made a U-turn and carried on to the Kosi border.

Ponta do Ouro & Ponta Malongane, Mozambique - Africa. Aerial Views taken with a Drone
Ponta to Ouro is a beach town on the southern tip of Mozambique, bordering South Africa.
Ponta do Ouro, also known as Ponta is part of a marine reserve, and related to the marine reserve there are several Scuba Diving and dolphin watching operators.
Around 7Km to the north lies Ponta Malongane, also a beach holiday prime spot, with several accommodation options ranging from basic to luxury.
Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Malongane are located in the Elephant Coast of Mozambique, and there is a game reserve near by, where elephants are a constant presence.
Both places are a must for watersports lovers.

The team head out to Ponta Membene, in the Maputo Special Reserve and on the shore of the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve, which features a great beach, very isolated and different from the more famous Ponta do Ouro beach. With camping as the only option, great ablutions, the Team from Ironman 4x4 and Michelle from Wild Wonderful World relax before they head off to explore Rustic campsite number 4 which is south of the main track, overlooking Lagos Ne’a, not far from Lahore Xinguti.

Where the sun rises over the Indian Ocean, only 5 km from Kosi
Bay on the Southern tip of Mozambique, you will find Ponta do
Ouro, Point of Gold. Ponta do Ouro offers you golden beaches with lush coastal vegetation where the tranquility of the brilliant blue sea will ensure a truly memorable holiday experience. The scuba diving in this area is spectacular, and the chances of spotting dolphins or whale sharks are high. Deep-sea fishing is rewarding, equally rewarding is the tranquility found by those who just want to relax, sit back and enjoy. To reach the town you enter through the Kosi bay border post and travel approximately 11 kilometers on sandy roads. A 4X4 vehicle is required for this trip. The town of Ponta do Ouro is a quaint little town, where many of the houses are being restored to their former glory. In the town you will find a filling station, a bank, shops, some restaurants, a market and several curio dealers. Ponta do Duro campsite is set right on the beach and is an affordable destination for all those 4X4 owners who would like to venture to this beautiful corner on the Mozambican coastline. For the hungry and thirsty Club do Praia is right on the beach where you can enjoy a drink or a snack while overlooking the spectacular bay. Accommodation at the resort consists of equipped 2, 4 and 6 bedded basic self-catering chalets. The 2 bed chalets are not en-suite but the 4 and 6 bed chalets have showers and toilets. The resort has a large shady campsite with shared ablutions that have flush toilets and hot water showers. Plug points are provided for campers. Ponta do Duro is particularly popular with divers and fishermen because of the easy boat launching facilities. There are approximately 22 different dive sites around Ponta. With little to no current, the visibility for exploring the amazing coral reefs varies from 10 to 50 meters in the summer, depending on the surface conditions. There are three dive camps situated within the campsite.

One of our favorite places on the planet so far, Santa Maria in Southern Mozambique is the first stop of our year long East Africa Safari. One of the things that make SM so special is the drive through the Maputo Special Reserve (formerly the Maputo Elephant Reserve). With endless vistas, wildlife, and a bit of thick sand thrown in the mix for some great 4x4 driving, it's a great adventure destination in itself. Add to this the stunning coastline protected by the inaccessibility and you have a rare spot on the map that is truly special.

Maputo has been the capital of Mozambique since 1898. The city was previously called Lourenço Marques until the country's independence in 1975. It is the largest city in Mozambique and the country's most important harbour. It is situated at the mouth of the Santo River in the extreme south, 90 km from the border with South Africa.
