Rincon Beach, mentioned among the five most beautiful beaches of the world, is located in a remote part of the Dominican Republic between two well-known capes (Cabos): Cabo Cabron and Cabo Samana.
Located on the Samana Peninsula, between “Cabo Cabron” and “Cabo Samana,” this magnificent bay with white sands is one of the five most beautiful beaches in the world. A small river called “Caño Frio” passes the bay, and you may enjoy a refreshing bath in its’ cool water.
This stunning emerald-colored river doubles as a popular natural swimming pool where it meets the ocean on the western end of Playa Rincón. Walking farther back from the ocean following the river, you’ll end up in the denser forest, where Río Caño Frío’s mangrove-lined waters turn turquoise, even crisper and fresher. You’ll think you’ve found the Garden of Eden.

You can reach Playa Rincon Beach by car or by boat. From Las Terrenas, the drive is an hour and forty five minutes east through the Samaná peninsula. The road is full of curves, but it is in perfect condition and offers glorious views of lush Caribbean countryside. On the way to Playa Rincon beach, you can stop in small towns like Samaná for lunch and a walk through town to more of the Dominican Republic’s seemingly inexhaustible supply of gorgeous beaches.

From Las Galeras we went on a beach tour during our vacation, where some of the most beautiful beaches in the region can only be reached by boat and where you have the opportunity to explore, snorkel or swim. The tour lasted a full day with lunch break on the beach and opportunities for nice photo stops. If you are traveling after Covid19 in Samara in the Dominican Republic, make a note of it. The tour took us to the following beaches with stops: Playa Fronton (one of the film sets for Pirates of the Caribbean 2), Playa Madama, Playa Rincon, Playa Colorada and back to our hotel at Playa Grande.
