Montserrat: A Hidden Gem
My cousin and I visited our grandparents on an island called Montserrat. It's located in the West Indie islands of the Caribbean. Many people have never heard of this country because half the island was destroyed by the island's volcano. It's a beautiful place that you should all check out one day!

Montserrat Beach Picnic
Since the volcano started erupting, the beaches have become deserted. After a recent storm washed all kinds of driftwood up on the quiet beach in front of our house we made a small fire and picnic for the 4th of July.

Getting to Montserrat
We leave the bitter cold of Quebec's winter and head to Montserrat in the Caribbean. Our trip is home from Montreal airport to Antigua, and from Antigua we take a small plane to Monserrat. It was a long and stressfull day due to a storm in Montreal which made us take off close to 2 hours late. The next few videos will show more of the island.

Beach-goers will enjoy the placidity of St. Barths’ beach scene. Crowds are generally light even at the height of tourist season. You will find that you discover a few favourites but all are worth a visit, even those harder to reach like Colombier – which is accessible by boat for those who like a nice maritime view – or by scenic hike for outdoor types.
For those who prefer a more serene beach outing, Gouverneur (see picture below) and Petit Cul de Sac beaches provide for an afternoon of quiet reflection and tranquility.
