Mini Switzerland of Pakistan? Is this place better than Switzerland? Well you can decide it by yourself after watching this magnificent vlog from my All Pakistan Motorcycle Tour. Phander valley in the Gupis-Yasin District of Gilgit-Baltistan about 184 Kilometers away on the road from Gilgit to the Shandur Pass. The reason for naming this valley Phander, as Phan means palm in the local Khowar language and this place is flat like a palm, hence it was called Phander. This place is a tourist attraction because of its beautiful sceneries. There are four lakes in this small place, of which Phander Lake is the largest.

This is the 25th Episode of my Solo Motorcycle Journey in Pakistan and in this episode, I explored the stunning Phander Valley and continued riding towards Shandur Pass (3700meters) which is the border between Gilgit Baltistan and KPK. It is also called the Roof of the world.
Northern areas of Pakistan are considered among the most beautiful due to stunning mountain vistas and natural beauty.

Phander Valley is located at district Ghizer of Gilgit Baltistan.The population of Phander comprises 80% Ismaili & 20% of Sunnis sect of Islam. The altitude of Phamder valley is 3100 metre.The language of Phander Valley is Khowar,which is also spoken in Chitral It is 4 -5 hour drive from the city of district Gilgit.Best time to visit is end of june to July. Ghizer District (Urdu: ضلع غذر) is the westernmost part of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Its capital is Gahkuch. Ghizer is a crossroads between Gilgit and Chitral, and also to China and Tajikistan via the Karambar Pass through Ishkomen/Darkut Yasin (which are connected via Shandur Pass). Ghizer is a multi-ethnic district and three major languages are spoken: Shina, Khowar, and Burushaski. There are also Wakhi speakers in Ishkoman and some Tajiks.

Phander valley is a very beautiful and picturesque valley located in Ghizer district, part of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It provides you with the vibrant colors of Autumn. It is indeed a paradise on Earth.. Turquoise blue water, meadows and a beautiful contrast of nature's colors leave you completely stunned.
Phander is the most beautiful valley of Gilgit Baltistan . The natural beauty of different places of phander attract peoples toward itself. In the season of summer, this valley becomes much beautiful then other places of Gilgit Baltistan.
Phander Valley is located in the Ghizer District, North West of Gilgit city and on the main Gilgit-Chitral route. It is a 4-5 hours drive from Gilgit all along the Gilgit River. Important places are Gahkuch and Guppis. Basically, the area ahead of Gupis up to Handarap village is termed as Phander Valley, Phander town being the main population center in the area.
PTDC hotels at Phander and Guppis are the best places to stay though there are few more average standard hotels. One needs prior reservation in PTDC Motels and rates are fixed.
