ABOUT US:
Jupiter² was built in the Philippines by an Australian designer for Jamie. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time.

Hopefully some inspiration to Quit Job and Go Sailing.

Escudo de Veraguas - The Isolated Island No One Visits - Episode 65

In this episode, we leave Zapatilla Cays and sail to Escudo de Veraguas. This island is not visited by many as the anchorage is untenable in bad weather. With no wind, we are able to spend a blissful couple days here, diving, spearfishing and visiting with the indigenous tribe that lives here. But all good things must come to an end so we pulled anchor to start our journey toward the Panama Canal.

Buddy boating while exploring Barbados and Granada Vlog 56

After crossing the Atlantic at the same time as 10 other kid boats, Barbados was a riot of colour, fun and socialising. Carlisle Bay where we were all anchored just off Bridgetown also has an amazing marine park of 6 wrecks dated from WW1 and 2 through to recently, these made for great snorkeling and easy first dives for some of the kids. Then it was off to Grenada with some of our friends on Boag, Mrs Chippy and Spacegrazer, together we made up a group of 21 - 8 adults and 13 kids! We managed to find a 21 seater bus to explore the amazing tropical island of spice that is Grenada. We swam over natural waterslides in the jungle, visited the organic chocolate factory and a rum distillery still using its original water wheel from 1874, we clambered in the last Cuban airlines plane abandoned here in the conflict of 1983 and fed wild monkeys in the forests of Mt Etang - we are just loving exploring these great islands with our cruising friends - watch and enjoy!!

We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau.
We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day!

We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand.

We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have?

Thanks and enjoy.

Palmerston Island - community of cousins Vlog 82

Palmerston Island has the most interesting history. First discovered by Captain James Cook in 1774 it was settled in 1863 by Englishman William Marsters along with his 3 Polynesian wives and 23 children. Today the island is still owned and run by the direct descendants of William Marsters with the exception of the nurse, teacher and church minister! The islanders show incredible hospitality to the steady stream of yachts that visit here every year, providing mooring buoys and lunch with your host family ashore everyday. Seeing as they have no shops and only two supply ships visit every year, the yachts are a great source of both supplies and entertainment for the locals. Possibly one of the most unique places on the planet - enjoy experiencing our visit with us!

Surprise stop in Aitutaki Vlog 81

After a hair raising exit from the pass in Maupiti we finally left French Polynesia headed for Palmerston Atoll. Two days into our passage we realised the beautiful Cook Island, Aitutaki was not far off our course so we decided to divert and explore what Aitutaki had to offer. Even though it was tricky to find a sandy spot to anchor outside the reef (the passage into the lagoon is only 1.5m deep, our boat is 2m draft so no way were we attempting that) once settled we were free to explore the wonders of Aituitaki - famous for having one of the largest and most beautiful lagoons in the world! We were not disappointed, not only is Aitutaki stunningly beautiful it also has strong links with NZ meaning we could finally buy some of our favourite foods - pies, sausage rolls, jelly tip ice cream and Whittakers chocolate just to name a few! We were also treated to nightly visits from whales in our anchorage and had the most amazing dive directly below our boat - incredible! This unexpected stop turned out to be one of the Pacific's highlights for the Nikau crew.

19 year old crossing the Pacific alone

I'm Garrett. I'm 19 years old, and for the last year and a half I've been learning to solo sail the Hawaiian Islands and prepping my boat, a Nor'sea 27 to travel the world. After months at the harbor working on my boat, it's time to leave the dock and sail to French Polynesia. This is a 2,400 nautical mile upwind trip and should take about 25 days.

Thanks for watching the first 11 days of my passage! I had too much footage to fit it all into one video, so make sure to subscribe to see the rest of my voyage. Also, follow me on Instagram if you want

Bora Bora birthday bash | Shark dive | Eagle rays Vlog 79

Bora Bora in French Polynesia was a whirlwind of fun times for the Nikau crew. We swam with masses of sharks, moray eels, reef fish and eagle rays. We checked out the famous Bloody Mary's bar to see what the fuss was all about and we celebrated Jaz's birthday with a riot of lunch, games and swimming with the 5 other kid boats we are traveling with. Bora Bora is one of the best known and most touristy of the Society Islands in French Polynesia but for good reason, its stunning volcano towers over the tiny island that is surround by endless blue water and sparkling white sand not to mention endless resorts! But despite it's popularity Bora Bora retains a laid back charm and surprisingly vibrant and plentiful marine life, we loved it and we hope you enjoy sharing it with us!

Sailing to the Tuamotus Archipelago 73

After a road trip in Hiva Oa we set sail to the Tuamostus. These atolls are a hot spot for scuba diving. All of the islands of the Tuamotus are coral atolls, essentially high sand bars built upon coral reefs. They are a navigational nightmare but we made it in one piece!

After that, we spend a week in beautiful Las Perlas islands, watch a huge pod of dolphins, and finally ...... finally!!! ...... we set sail for Ecuador.

Thanks so much for watching ????

Our No. 1 pick for yachting in the Pacific Vlog 85

We finally sailed to Vava'u in Tonga! This is a place we have been looking forward to returning to ever since we had an amazing dive holiday here 4 years ago, we knew it was choc full of amazing dive spots, idyllic beaches and best of all for yachties - over 40 anchorages, many people choose to live on their yachts here and we can see why. It was good to see on our dives that the coral is still vibrant and healthy here, the beaches and water clarity are amazing and the air is filled with the sound of birdsong and insects at night - always a good sign of a healthy ecosystem. In this episode we revisit some old favourite spots, find some new ones and basically show you the best of Vava'u - enjoy!

French Polynesia's 'Garden of Eden' | Tropical fish frenzy | Island feast, Vlog 77

A glassy, moonlit overnight passage took us from Moorea to Huahine, reputedly the only island Captain James Cook would recognise if he were to come back today. Huahine is nicknamed the 'Garden of Eden' for good reason, its lush hills are encircled by a ring of reef over which giant surf constantly breaks making this a surfing, diving and hiking paradise. We loved the huge variety of tropical fish and crystal clear water and enjoyed the famous Sunday afternoon island feast at Chez Tara.
