We stopped at Palm Cove for a dinner
In this video, we stopped at Palm Cove for a dinner. Palm Cover is a coastal suburb in Cairns Region, in far North Queensland, it's about 27 kms north of Cairns, and it’s a tourist hop spot, with some beautiful resorts and hotels. We were on our way back to Cairns from the day trip to Port Douglas, and we stopped at Palm Cove for a look and a quick dinner. It’s a very relaxing feeling, very quiet, and not many people around. It feels like Palm beach in Sydney. We had a walk along the esplanade, and came across this beautiful resort called Peppers Beach Club & Spa. It looks very impressive, the swimming pool is beautiful and lovely.
After that, we sat down at Il Forno Pizzeria, and had a quick Italian pizza before we called it a night, and headed back to Cairns.

In this video Di and I were on a location shoot in the Daintree national park which is located in north Queensland, Australia.
We had made our way up to Cape Tribulation and were scouting locations to shoot with our guide.
Because of the climate the waterways and beaches here provide the perfect environment and home for the Saltie (Salt water crocodile)

Palm Cove Beach - Cairns

An Epic Adventure in Far North Queensland: Exploring Palm Cove & the Atherton Tablelands

We're heading off for two weeks in tropical Far North Queensland. Australia is truly a blessed country where you can be skiing in the south in the morning, jump on a plane, and be swimming on the beach in the tropics in the afternoon. We haven't flown in a plane for quite some time so we splashed out for business class tickets on the Qantas service to Cairns.
For our first two nights we'll be staying at the famous Reef House in Palm Cove (of course, in their cheapest room) as well as setting off to explore the region of the Atherton Tablelands which is just brimming with easily accessible natural wonders to explore. Reef House Palm Cove was also recently awarded Best 5 Star Accommodation in Queensland.

Cairns, Palm Cove & Port Douglas | A 3 Day Trip To Tropical North Queensland
Just last week I went on a business trip to Tropical North Queensland that honestly felt more like a vacation than anything else!
While the weather kept us wet, both because of the heat and humidity and the constant sporadic rain, this trip was nothing short of a success and a great time.
Cairns is the biggest city between the three, while still being a pretty small place that's quiet enough to relax but still have a bit of the city vibe and movement.
Palm Cove is a tiny little stretch of town filled with relaxing vibes and great hotels and resorts to visit.
Port Douglas is somewhere in between the two in size and variety. There are many little bars and cafes that are totally worth the visit, not to mention some amazing hotels and resorts to stay in a get away.
All in all, I've only seen a small portion of what the Tropical North has to offer and I am excited to go back!

Double Island , Palm Cove, Queensland - An island lost in time.
Double island was once one of Australia's most exclusive resorts, but since its devastation from a cyclone over 10 years ago, it has slowly been taken over again by nature.
I took my inflatable Hydroforce boat over to the island, with just my small 4HP Mariner engine. The ease of inflatables is they can be launched from a beach, rather than a boat ramp.
Double island is situated just a 30 minute drive from Cairns in the beautiful resort suburb of Palm Cove, access to the island can be by private boat or Kayak. Only being 1km from the shore of Palm Cove it is easily accessible.
Please note access to the island can be difficult depending on the tides as there is low lying reefs surround the area.
