The statue weighs around 500 tonnes (490 long tons; 550 short tons).
Adiyogi refers to Shiva (Shankara) as the first യൊഗി. It was established to inspire people towards inner well-being through yoga.
Description
This face is not a deity or temple, this is an iconic inspiration. In pursuit of the divine, you don't have to look up because it is not somewhere else. Each of the 112 possibilities is a method to experience the divine within you. You just have to pick one. The idea is not to build one more monument but to use it as a galvanizing force towards self-transformation.

Adiyogi is located at the Isha Yoga Center. Its height, 112 ft, symbolizes the 112 possibilities to attain to moksha (liberation) that are mentioned in yogic culture, and also the 112 chakras in the human system.[5][3] A linga called Yogeshwar Linga was consecrated and placed in front of the statue.[6] The Indian Ministry of Tourism has included the statue in its official Incredible India ചമ്പൈഗ്ന്. It is also the venue of a light and sound show on Shiva as a yogi, inaugurated by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
Inauguration
Adiyogi was inaugurated on 24 February 2017 by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. He also launched a companion book, Adiyogi: The Source of Yoga, written by Sadhguru. To mark the unveiling of the statue, the song Adiyogi – The Source of Yoga was released by the Isha Foundation, sung by Kailash Kher, with lyrics by Prasoon Joshi.[9]
Another 6.4-metre (21 ft) statue of Adiyogi was unveiled in Tennessee, US in 2015 by the Isha Foundation, as part of a 2,800 m2 (30,000 sq ft) yoga studio.
Adiyogi Divya Darshanam[edit]
Adiyogi Divya Darshanam is 3D laser show, narrating story of Adiyogi and how the science of yoga was given to human ബെിങ്സ്. It was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on Mahashivratri in 2019. It is a 14 minute light and sound show, projected upon the Adiyogi Statue.
In 2020, it won the Mondo*dr EMEA & APAC Award for Technology in Entertainment in the House of Worship category.

Other Adiyogi Shiva statues[edit]
In January, 2014, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev announced his desire to put Adiyogi Shiva statues in 4 Corners of India which will perhaps be coming up in a few years.
A 112-Feet Adiyogi Shiva Statue at Chikkaballapur was inaugurated on 15th Jan 2023.The statue is set up along with eight Navagraha temples along with Bhairavi Temple at the Isha Yoga Centre at Chikkaballapur, Karnataka.
On August 30, 2022, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev visited Pura Mahadev, Baghpat. Isha foundation desired to get land on lease for Sanskrit School, Yoga Centre and 68 m (242 ft) Adiyogi Shiva സ്ടടുെ. The statue will be built near the banks of Hindon River located near Pura Mahadev (पुरा महादेव) and Hariya Kheda, Uttar Pradesh.

Isha Foundation is a non-profit, spiritual organization founded in 1992 by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. It is based at the Isha Yoga Center near Coimbatore, India. The foundation offers yoga programs under the name of Isha Yoga.
The Isha Yoga Center is suited at the Velliangiri Mountains near Coimbatore. Velliangiri Mountains is also known as Kailash of South.
The Adiyogi statue is a 34.3-metre-tall (112.4 ft) excluding plinth, 45-metre-long (147 ft) and 7.62-metre-wide (24.99 ft) statue of the Hindu deity Shiva with white Thirunamam at Coimbatore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the Largest Bust Sculpture” in the world. Designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, it was built by the foundation and weighs around 500 tonnes (490 long tons; 550 short tons). Sadhguru said that the statue is for inspiring and promoting yoga, and is named Adiyogi, which means the first yogi because Shiva is known as the originator of yoga.
It was inaugurated on Mahashivaratri, 24 February 2017, by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
Adiyogi - The Source of Yoga
On the auspicious night of Mahashivaratri at Isha Yoga Center, an iconic face of “Adiyogi – the Source of Yoga” was unveiled by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recognized as the world's largest bust sculpture by the Guinness World Records, the face of Adiyogi is 112 feet high, representing the 112 ways he offered for one to attain to wellbeing and one's Ultimate nature. Installed near the Adiyogi is the Yogeshwar Linga, which was consecrated by Sadhguru, as the manifestation of five of the major chakras in the human system. Adiyogi, with the presence of the Yogeshwar Linga, has become a living entity.
Dhyanalinga
“Dhyana” in Sanskrit means meditation and “linga” means the form. Dhyanalinga is a profound meditative space that does not ascribe to any particular belief or faith and requires no ritual, prayer or worship. A powerful and unique energy form, Dhyanalinga is a doorway to enlightenment and spiritual liberation. In the metaphysical sense, Dhyanalinga is a guru, offering spiritual seekers the opportunity to do spiritual practices in the utmost intimacy of a live guru, something traditionally available only to a few.
The Dhyanalinga is open every day from 6am to 8pm. On Shivratris, the timings are 6:00am - 4:00pm, 6:15pm - 8:00pm. There are several events that occur on a daily basis, such as Nada Aradhana or the offering of sound, Aumkar initiation, and the Isha Kriya guided meditation.

Linga Bhairavi is the most exuberant expression of the Divine Feminine, residing in a triangular-shaped abode at the Velliangiri Foothills. Linga Bhairavi is open from 6:30am – 8:20pm seven days of the week.
Space is closed daily from 1:20pm – 4:20pm.
Devotees can offer the abhishekam at 7:40am, 12:40pm and 7:40pm every day to receive the Grace of the Devi. All are welcome.

How to Get There
Adiyogi - The Source of Yoga is situated 30 kilometers (20 miles) west of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore, a major industrial city in southern India, is well connected by air, rail, and road. Major airlines operate regular flights to Coimbatore from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Train services are available from all major cities in India.
If you want to travel in public transport, you can take a state bus from Gandhipuram bus stand(Coimbatore), which sends out a bus every 45 minutes to the gates of the complex. From the Dhyanalinga temple, you can walk to the sculpture which is a 7 min short walk. However, if you are not willing to walk, there are modified bullock carts and open rickshaw facilities available which can ferry you to Adiyogi.
Timings
There are several events that occur on a daily basis, such as Aumkar initiation, and the Isha Kriya guided meditation.
Adiyogi is open every day from 8am to 8pm.
