PENAFRANCIA BUS FROM MANILA TO LEGAZPI CITY

EARLY ARRIVAL AT THE BICOL ISAROG CENTRAL BUS TERMINAL IN CUBAO IN MANILA TO TAKE OUR THIRTEEN HOUR BUS TRIP TO LEGAZPI. WE BOOKED OUR TRIP ONLINE TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO GOING IN ORDER TO PAY THE EXTRA FOR THE TWO FRONT SEATS IMMEDIATELY BEHIND THE DRIVER IN THE HOPE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE OUR VIEWS BLOCKED BY PEOPLE CLOSING THE CURTAINS. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE VIDEO IT WAS WELL WORTH THE EXTRA SMALL EXPENSE AND BOOKING AHEAD.

Lazyboy Bus Review - Penafrancia Bicol Isarog Lines

Lazyboy Bus Review - Penafrancia Bicol Isarog Lines
Pinafrancia Lazyboy Bus number 56J under the company of Bicol Isarog TSI is the first batch of two of it's kind. A 2x1 bus it has a spacious leg room and i'm 5'8 in height. You can fold the mid arm rest for cuddle has a two lights, airconditioned, reclined chair and leg rest, Urinal, TV, Wifi (signal dependant) Paunahan nalang mag connect and lasty my speed limiter to 80kph.

I would suggest to book in advance rather walk-in to avoid hassle.
Choose the middle seats for safety reason and never seat near the urinal cabin if you really need to (it stinks!) Drivers cleaned it during bus stop.

That you for watching my review please Like and Subscribe if you like the video and comment down below what bus you want me to review next. Wag lang po ordinary. Thanks!

Luzon to Mindanao Part 8: Legazpi City, Albay to Sorsogon City

Day 2 covers around an Est. 226Km from Legaspi City, Albay to Calbayog City, Samar. Total driving distance is about +188Km & the ferry distance between Matnog & San Isidro Ferry Terminals is 38Km or 20.5 Nautical Miles. This was broken down to 3 video segments so as the uploading time will not be that long. Used the FastCat RoRo service by booking & paying online.

The 1st segment of Day 2 covers La Piazza Hotel in Legaspi City up to Shell Gas Station in Sorsogon City just after the Sorsogon Diversion Road covering 70Km within 100+Min driving time
The original plan is to go through AH26/ Maharlika Highway by joining it from the hotel to Binitayan Road in Daraga. Just about 200meters after turning right from Shell at the corner of AH 26 & Bicol 630, roadworks starts. Traffic was stalled as there was a trailer which got stuck as its wheel fell on the roadworks embankment. Waited for 30 minutes then the vehicles behind started reversing to find alternate route. Followed suit then took Bicol 640 route till Banquerohan then turned right at Banquerohan-Bariis-Sogoy-Sorsogon Boundary Road up to reaching AH26/ Maharlika Highway. Surprisingly the whole 26+Km of alternate route was good with some twisties.

The following towns were passed:
• Legazpi City, is a 1st Class component city and the capital of the province of Albay. The city is composed of two districts: Legazpi Port and Old Albay District. Mayon Volcano, one of the Philippines' most popular icons and tourist destinations, is partly within the city's borders. Source: WIKI
• Daraga is a 1st class municipality in the province of Albay with 54 barangays. It will be the site of the future Bicol International Airport which will further boost tourism in the region and will introduce more opportunities especially in this town. Source: WIKI
• Castilla, is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Sorsogon with 34 barangays. Farming and fishing are the main employment opportunities but are characteristically seasoned in nature. Castilla has 13 coastal barangays, which depend on fishing as the main economic activity. Source: WIKI
• City of Sorsogon is a 3rd class city and capital of the province of Sorsogon with 64 barangays. It serves a trans-shipment point from the Visayas and Mindanao provinces, and is dubbed as the Gateway to Southern Philippines. It is one of the region's leading cities in urbanization and the most promising city in terms of development. Source: WIKI

INSANELY Long EXPRESSWAYS from Manila to BICOL Provinces // The Philippine Spine Expressway Network

The Department of Public Works and Highways said it expects to start the construction of the Quezon-to-Bicol expressway project this year.

“The feasibility study already completed, so we’re gonna start this year,” Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said.

According to the DPWH, the project will start at Pagbilao, Quezon, and end at the Maharlika Highway in San Fernando, Camarines Sur.

“The project will have an indicative length of approximately 220 kilometers and will be an alternative option of travel from Quezon and the Bicol provinces,” DPWH added.

The agency said the project aimed to provide a fast and developed alternative for commuters to use since the original road being traversed by the people will go through the “poblacions” of the different municipalities.

It will also provide a safe and direct route to the provinces of Bicol since the original route traverses through the mountainside and other fragmentary roads.

The project will offer a direct and fast route between both provinces, while the trade of goods is expected to prosper not only between Quezon and Bicol but also in the northern part of Luzon because travel time for trucks will be reduced.

The DPWH said the Quezon-Bicol Expressway project would be classified as a “project of national significance” due to its function to connect Quezon and Bicol provinces, which are fast developing provinces of Southern Luzon.

Bicol AH 26 Legaspi City, Albay to Nabua, Camarines Sur

This is the start of Bicol to Manila return trip. Took of from Piazza Hotel, Legaspi with the following stops along the way:

• Legaspi Saint Gregory the Great Cathedral
• Daraga Our Lady of the Gate Parish Church
• Camalig St. John The Baptist Parish
• Oas St. Michael Archangel Parish Church
• Nabua Holy Cross Parish Church

It’s a little tight going out of Daraga along AH26. This is the main thoroughfare servicing Bicol, Sorsogon & beyond to Samar & Leyte, a lot of heavy vehicles & buses ply the route. There was one accident before Ligao & hopefully, none got a serious injury. Heavy traffic before Nabua center might be due to another accident but was not able to see it.

Dropped by Camalig for some Pili nuts but found out that the shops along AH26 are tourist traps. Found them in Nabua at much lower prices.

There are a lot of road widening activities but basically, road condition is good.

Enjoy & have a safe trip everyone!!!
