We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

We moved to Europe because we really wanted to try having a life in Lithuania. After all, it checked off most of the boxes for us. Lithuania is fairly affordable, good cost of living, safe, clean and quiet. It's a good place to start and see if living in Europe is what we want, and if Lithuania is the place for us. Although we aren't really American, this is still a new place and a new way of life for both of us and it won't really be living in Lithuania as an American since Simas speaks Lithuanian already.

First Time in Vilnius, Lithuania
It's our first time in Vilnius, Lithuania and we quickly fall in love with this small Baltic nation. In this video we explore the Old Town - the biggest you'll find in the Baltics - and start the day at our super cozy Airbnb (see link below). We make our way to Cathedral Square and see the Gediminas Monument, which is not your average statue, and it makes us already start to appreciate Lithuanians' sense of humour. Next is the Frank Zappa Memorial and Literature Street - both evidence of how Vilnius appreciates the arts. We pass through the Gate of Dawn - known as a site of miracles - and the local Market Hall. To warm up and fill our bellies, we make our way to a local restaurant called Šnekutis to try Lithuanian food. We spend the evening at the MO Museum and an exhibition about the 90s in Lithuania when the country regained independence from the Soviet Union. We end the night on Iceland Street - of course we had to visit here! - which is so named to honour Iceland for being the first country to recognize Lithuania's regained independence.

Lithuania is a lively and interesting country that has changed quickly since it broke away from the Soviet Union in 1990. You'll find a lively nightlife in Vilnius and on the coast, a lot of space for outdoor activities in the national parks that haven't been spoiled yet, and a number of good beaches.
There's also a big difference between life in the city and poverty in the countryside. Lithuanians are fiercely proud of their country. They are also more outgoing and friendly than their Baltic neighbors, and you are likely to meet them everywhere.
Where to go in Lithuania?
Lithuania is small, so getting around is cheap. Even in popular tourist spots, there aren't many people, so you get the feeling that there's still a lot to discover here. Vilnius, with its Baroque Old Town, is the most beautiful Baltic capital in terms of architecture, and it also has a lively nightlife. Kaunas, the second largest city, also has a beautiful center, a few interesting museums, and some great restaurants and bars.
The port city of Klaipda is a good place to stay the night on the way to the resorts of Neringa (the Curonian Spit), a unique strip of sand dunes and forest that protects Lithuania from the Baltic Sea, or to Palanga, Lithuania's party town, where everyone goes in the summer to have fun.

Travelling the full length of Poland by train en route to Vilnius in Lithuania (with a 4am start!)
When I saw this daily service had started in December 2022, it just HAD to be my way to Vilnius (part of my quest to visit all three Baltic States).
Join me very early in the morning in Kraków Poland as we step aboard for a very long journey!

**There is a very easy change just beyond the border in Mockava, Lithuania. The reason for this is a change of track gauge so involves a very quick and easy hop across the platform from Polish to Lithuanian train.**

Visaginas: Lithuania's Nuclear Town ????????
???????? Since Lithuania gained it's independence in 1991 it has removed as much of its Soviet past as it possibly could unlike in other post-Soviet republics where there are constant reminders of the USSR around every corner. However in the north of the country lies the town of Visaginas where I was told I could find the last remaining Soviet mosaic ( kind of ). Join me as I head north to see how life is in Visaginas which was built to house the workers from the nearby atomic power station and maybe meet some babushkas on the way.

Exploring Vilnius Lithuania | Traditional Lithuanian FOOD TOUR!
We're in Vilnius, Lithuania for a serious day of exploring & EATING!! Just how many different versions of Meat, Potato and Sour Cream can there possible be??
If you want to know what to see in Vilnius Lithuania, or have ever wondered what traditional Lithuanian food is, then come along on our full 12 hours of eating in this beautiful Old Town.
We start the day in a cafe for a Lithuanian breakfast, then explore the Old Town, checking out the 'narrowest street in Vilnius' (worth a look while walking around, and it's right next to the street with the best bars!).
We then head up to Gediminas Castle Tower to check out the medieval castle and city views, then make the climb up to The Hill of Three Crosses - one of the most famous landmarks in the city and well worth the climb for the incredible views!
Then we jump on an old Soviet era trolleybus (seriously cool experience) and head for lunch.
Lunch Restaurant: Klaipėda Old Town (Klaipėdos senamiestis). Try the Cheese Fingers!!
Then on for a quick drink before dinner on a great little Old Town street: Savičiaus g. Another great street for bars and busier nightlife is Vilniaus g. (Republik is my favourite pub in the city!).
Finally we end the day at an incredible, cheap and delicious traditional restaurant in the heart of the Vilnius Old Town called Etno Dvaras. The number of different potato-based dishes will blow your mind! The food there is truly amazing!!
