Saitamaya: The Master of Grilled Meat

If you have a great meal, but you're not allowed to take a picture of it, is it still delicious? At Saitamaya, the answer is yes.

We're thrilled to share our experience at Saitamaya, where the master has perfected the art of Yakiton, but he won't let you take any pictures or video of the food. Yet, he allowed us to shoot here this day. The food here is unbelievable. People travel from all over the country to eat here, and - if you're coming to Japan - you definitely need to stop by here.

Come, let us introduce you to the master of grilled meat.

The most famous Izakaya in Ueno, Tokyo / Japan Travel Guide

Ueno, Tokyo Izakaya Guide - This izakaya is located near Ameyoko market and is the most famous izakaya in Ueno.
It is a very popular place with people lining up every day because of the cheap sake and food.
If you want to have the same experience as the Japanese in Japan, go to this izakaya.
FYI, the menu is only available in Japanese, so we recommend using the Google Translate app.

Day in the Life of a Japanese All-Night Izakaya Restaurant Worker

This is a Day in the Life of a Japanese All Night Izakaya Drinking Restaurant Worker in Tokyo Japan. In Japan she is called an Okami, the head lady in charge of the restaurant, in this case a Japanese Izakaya. This is the typical day of a Japanese night worker or a Japanese person who works all night at an all-night restaurant in Tokyo. She works at Ginza Karin, an all-night Izakaya restaurant that offers traditional home-style Japanese cuisine with a wide selection of alcohol in one the most opulent areas of Tokyo, Ginza. She built this shop from nothing and now she’s serves as the Okami. The early-shift workers start the prep beforehand, just in time so she can check the dishes when she arrives, ensuring that each dish created meet the high quality standards she’s put in place. Her restaurant is located in the heart of the Ginza 7 chome / 8 chome district, renowned for its abundance of Japanese hostess clubs, with many of the hostesses in the area either wearing dresses or Kimonos just like Yuka. The Izakaya serves Obanzai, which are everyday Japanese side dishes made with seasonal ingredients, originating from traditional Kyoto-style home cooking. The dishes are usually served in large bowls lined up on the shop’s countertop for customers to able to see and choose. We follow her from her morning routine all the way until the end of her work night.

Under $2 Foods at a Japanese Izakaya Restaurant in Tokyo

Get 10% off with my link on Squarespace -

Cheap Japanese Food for under $2 at Izakaya drinking restaurant in Tokyo. These foods are what Japanese people commonly order at Izakaya restaurants that many travelers may not know about. For the uninitiated, Izakaya restaurants are known as Japan’s drinking restaurants but it’s a lot different from standard western bars and pubs. People go here to drink but to also enjoy a wide selection of food served in small dishes. So you can get your drink on, but not completely fill your stomach on food. Today, I’m at the Banpaiya Musashi Koyama store to give a quick breakdown on some ultra Japanese food, but won’t break the bank.

5 Must-Try Japanese Food Experiences in Tokyo

Japanese Food is awesome, and the overall dining experience is just as fun. If you are looking for places to eat in Tokyo, here are five great Japanese food experiences that I love while living in Tokyo.

1. Japanese Grill (Robata) - You sit around a few men who cook all of the meat and vegetables right in front of you on a grill. You just point to what you want and they grab it with their giant wooden spatulas.

2. Ramen - My favorite Japanese food, and perhaps the most well recognized Japanese dish apart from sushi. There are hundreds of places to choose from in Tokyo, each with their own rendition of the classic. One spot where you can get a large variety of options is on Ramen Street in the lower level of Tokyo Station.

3. Yakitori - Meat and veggies on sticks, cooked over a similar grill as the Robata, Yakitori is a favorite among Tokyo residents because it's fast and goes great with beer. The most famous area for Yakitori in Tokyo is down Memory Lane or Piss Alley just outside the Shinjuku Train Station.

4. Chanko Nabe - The ultimate in gluttony for a normal civilian, but a necessary bulking strategy for up-and-coming sumo wresters in the Ryogoku neighborhood of Tokyo. There are many different versions of this massive stew, and they are all aggressive and delicious.

5. Conveyor Belt Sushi - As I mention in the video, there are a million different ways sushi is served in Tokyo. One of the most fun methods is by way of the conveyor belt sushi.

*Bonus* - Convenient stores such as FamilyMart, Lawson's, and 7 Eleven are a major part of Japanese Food culture in Tokyo. People are busy and need a quick meal, so I wanted to take you around real quick and show you what's inside!

???? Party Night In Omoide Yokocho (Piss Alley) | Izakaya, Japanese Street Food & Good Vibes!

Tonight we are going to one of the most popular Yokocho in Tokyo, Omoide Yokocho!

It's also commonly called Pissl Alley and I think I don't to explain why...

Omoide Yokocho is located in Shinjuku and it's a perfect place if you want to eat Japanese street like Yakitori, oden, gyoza while siping Sake or beers.

It's also one of the most photogenic place in Tokyo with all the lanterns and the Izakaya restaurants on both side of this narrow alley.

Speaking of Izakayas, they are actually super small, fitting only 5 to 10 people. If you go there alone, it's guaranteed you will make new friends!

Enjoy this tour and don't forget to add a ???? if you enjoyed this video! :)

Best Izakaya restaurant in Singapore - Miyuki Izakaya

Follow Us as we share with you our recent dining experience at Miyuki Izakaya, one of the best Izakaya offerings in Singapore in our opinion.

Miyuki Izakaya currently has 2 outlets - one in Yishun and the other at Serangoon Gardens. We visited the latter outlet and took an immediate liking towards the cosy vibes of this outlet with both indoor and outdoor seating.

The food and beverage offerings was befitting of the standard (or even better than some) in Japan. Their unique selling point would have to be fusion dishes modified to cater to the local palates (e.g. Pitan Tofu or Century Egg Tofu). Ingredients were also specially sourced and imported. At the helm of the Izakaya are accomplished chefs who concocted sauces and dressings from scratch, adding to the uniqueness of this place.

Enough said. Let's let the video do the talking and let us know what you think! ????
