Feather Falls - Oroville, California
This is the midway point in the Feather Falls Trail; an 8 mile loop hike.
Drones over Fontenelle Dam and Reservoir, Wyoming
West of the Wind River Range, the Green River is backed up into a a large reservoir by the Fontenelle Dam. The Green is a huge river, so there is an enormous flow to contain, and the big dam is required to do it.
The lake acts as a recreation site for local residents, and of course is a magnet for a drone pilot. I began far down river and flew up to the dam. On a second flight, I launched at the eastern end of the dam and flew out over it.
