Hanjiangwan Bridge, also known as the Seven Jianghan Bridges, is the seventh bridge across the Hanjiang River in Wuhan.
On July 12, 2019, the Jianghan Seventh Bridge began to hoist the steel bridge deck and entered the superstructure construction stage. The construction team adopted a new structural form. The main bridge superstructure adopts a three-span continuous mid-support steel truss arch bridge, with rhombus parallel couplings and transverse braces set between the arch ribs to facilitate construction optimization and integrate the bridge with the local human and natural environment.
In early February 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Seventh Jianghan Bridge was suspended. On March 20, the Seventh Jianghan Bridge resumed work, becoming the first bridge under construction in Wuhan to resume work. On November 26, the main arch of the Seventh Jianghan Bridge was closed.
At 9:00 on January 11, 2021, the main bridge deck of the Hanjiang Bay Bridge was completed. On March 26, bridge painting, asphalt paving and other operations were carried out on the Han River Bay Bridge. On May 1, the Han River Bay Bridge was completed and opened to traffic.
technical challenge
The following technical difficulties existed during the construction of the Hanjiang Bay Bridge:
The Hanjiang Bay Bridge has a large main span, and its main span of 408 meters ranks second among similar bridges in China;
The arch rib truss rods are heavy and the steel deck segments are heavy. A single arch rib truss rod has a lifting weight of 100 tons, which is the highest lifting weight of similar bridge structural rods in China. A single steel bridge deck segment has a lifting weight of 250 tons. Ton;
The bridge spans the sharp bends of the Han River, the Hankou Port flood control embankment, urban main roads, rail transit lines, etc., and the construction environment is extremely complex and other engineering characteristics [3].
A number of new materials, new equipment, and new technologies were used in the construction of the Hanjiang Bay Bridge:
For the first time, the Q690qE bridge steel plate of the national “13th Five-Year Plan” key scientific research project was used as the main steel for the main bridge. The application of high-strength steel reduced the project’s consumption of steel;
In view of the characteristics of the Hanjiang Bay Bridge, such as the heavy lifting weight of the poles and the large climbing angle of the crane, the newly developed heavy-duty large-angle climbing 100-ton girder crane was used for the first time on this bridge;
For the first time, the bridge adopts full penetration welding technology of orthotropic steel bridge deck U-ribs, which improves the service life of the steel bridge deck and solves common problems with U-rib welding quality.

2019年7月12日，江汉七桥开始吊装钢桥面板，全面进入上部结构施工阶段。施工方采取新结构形式，主桥上部结构采用三跨连续中承式钢桁拱桥，拱肋间设置菱形平联和横撑，便于施工优化，实现大桥与当地人文自然环境相融合 。
2020年2月初，受新冠疫情影响，江汉七桥停工。3月20日，江汉七桥复工，成为武汉首座复工的在建桥梁 。11月26日，江汉七桥主拱合龙 。
2021年1月11日9时，汉江湾桥主桥桥面实现贯通。3月26日，汉江湾桥进行桥梁涂装、沥青铺设等作业 。5月1日，汉江湾桥建成通车
技术难题
汉江湾桥在建设过程中存在以下技术难题：
汉江湾桥具有主桥跨度大，其主跨408米跨度位居中国国内同类桥梁第二；
拱肋析架杆件重、钢桥面节段重，单根拱肋析架杆件吊重达100吨，属中国国内同类桥梁结构杆件最大吊重，单个钢桥面板节段吊重250吨；
桥梁跨越汉江河道急弯、汉口岸防洪大堤、城市主干道、轨道交通线等，施工环境异常复杂等工程特点 [3] 。
汉江湾桥在建设采用了多项新材料、新设备、新技术：
首次应用国家“十三五”重点科研项目Q690qE桥梁钢板作为主桥主析的钢材，高强钢材的应用减少了项目对钢材的消耗；
针对汉江湾桥杆件吊装重量大、吊机爬坡角度大等特点，新研制重载大角度爬坡100吨架梁吊机在该桥得到首次应用；
该桥首次采用正交异性钢桥面板U肋全熔透焊接技术，提高了钢桥面的使用周期，解决了U肋焊接质量通病等
