One Day in BERLIN, GERMANY: Visiting the Historic Berlin Wall

x

A Day in Berlin – What you MUST See: Join Alemanizando on a Special Tour Through the German Capital

What can you do if you have just one day in Berlin? Well, Elissa and Rodrigo from @Alemanizandohave some tips for you! They take you to some famous places and to a few hidden spots in the German capital — like its smallest street.

The Berlin-based couple from Brazil start at the Brandenburg Gate and then go for breakfast in one of Berlin’s major attractions: the Reichstag building. And of course they also visit its glass dome.
Their next stops are the Unter den Linden boulevard, Humboldt University, Bebelplatz and Museum Island. Another hot tip is the Nikolaiviertel, Berlin’s oldest residential quarter. From there it’s just a short walk to Alexanderplatz, where most people would go up to the top of Germany’s tallest building, the TV Tower, to get a good view over the city. But Elissa and Rodrigo have a cheaper workaround for you to get a great alternative view from above!

Not far away on Karl-Marx-Allee — the “first socialist street” on German soil — they feel a bit like they’re in Russia. No wonder, if you see the architecture that dates back to the East Germany era. Then it’s time for dinner in the popular Friedrichshain district before they end their tour at the East Side Gallery, which is both the longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall and also the longest open-air gallery in the world.

Watch this tour of Berlin and let us know in the comments what places YOU would recommend!

Our Gear:
We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

Berlin Wall opened for first time December 20, 1963 - This Day In History

#thisdayinhistory #BerlinWall
More than two years after the Berlin Wall was constructed by East Germany to prevent its citizens from fleeing its communist regime, nearly 4,000 West Berliners are allowed to cross into East Berlin to visit relatives. Under an agreement reached between East and West Berlin, over 170,000 passes were eventually issued to West Berlin citizens, each pass allowing a one-day visit to communist East Berlin

Berlin Germany, Walk Around The Most Famous Places! 4K City Walking Tour With Captions

Welcome to another Berlin Walking Tour! This time we will take a walk around some of the most famous places of the city. You will see the Spree River, busy James-Simon Park, which is close to Hackescher Markt, and the historic heart of Berlin: The Museum Island, one of the most visited sights of Germany's capital. This tour ends in front of the Berlin Cathedral. As Museum Island includes all of Spree Island north of the Unter den Linden, the Berliner Dom is also located here, near the Lustgarten. To the south, the reconstructed Berlin Palace houses the Humboldt Forum museum and opened in 2020. Since German reunification, the Museum Island has been rebuilt and extended according to a master plan. In 2019, a new visitor center and art gallery, the James Simon Gallery, was opened. James Simon Park is located in Berlin's Mitte district of the same name. It is named after the Berlin entrepreneur James Simon. The protected green area is located in a popular nightlife and strolling district of Berlin-Mitte. With 3.9 Million inhabitants Berlin is the most populous city of the European Union. It is surrounded by the state of Brandenburg, and contiguous with Potsdam, Brandenburg's capital. The two cities are at the center of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region, which is Germany's third-largest metropolitan region after the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main regions. Turn on the closed captions (CC) to see subtitles with background information about the city & the area.

This 4K video vlog was recorded with high definition binaural audio in 60 FPS.

A random walk more or less by the Berlin Wall (June-July 1989)

A slightly corrected and lengthened version of a video posted previously at:
This is a somewhat tedious assemblage - the original footage is not good enough to edit well as it was a quick stab meant only as an initial exploration. It's still interesting, if you've been there it may bring some memories. If you are into silly optical effects, grab a pair of sunglasses (any slightly darkened piece of glass will do) and hold just ONE of the filters in front of your RIGHT eye. Keep looking through BOTH eyes and fast forward to 18:39 and wait for the mirrors to appear. You should see it now exactly as I saw it back then. More on that effect here:
It will work very well with any video scene showing a _lateral_ camera movement as long as it's reasonably smooth (trains and river boats are best for that sort of thing).
On another odd note: at 16:28 there is this odd face(?)-like painting. I could never figure out what that was. And I found out only yesterday (22 Feb. 2022) when I was watching part 1 of a German 1986 documentary on the 25th year of the Wall. Watch: and fast-forward to 2:07. Cool, no? So this means the half-life of a graffito there was about 3 years (depending on the location, of course; this one got moderate steady traffic).

One Day in BERLIN, GERMANY: Visiting the Historic Berlin Wall

BERLIN | Exploring Berlin| Berlin Wall | berlin vlog #berlin #germany #history #vlog #europe

HELLO MY MEGA LOVE FRIENDS :)

This province/city was just a highlight for me because of its historical stories you cannot visit/stay Germany or not visit Berlin. I do want to come again here in this beautiful area.

Oh Berlin! oh Berlin

THIS IS THE CAPITAL & LARGEST both by area and population in GERMANY, if I were to compare to Hamburg it amounts all to double in everything. I was amused being here from the people , energie, attitude, dressing, vibrant culture and ofcos the historical buildings totally different to Hamburg.
From the Berlin Wall, Bundestag( The federal government of Germany), Brandenburger Tor/Gate, Memorial in Berlin *Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Holocaust Memorial) checkpoint Charlie and so much more with the touch of modern style of building and you know Germans and its architectural power there is so much to learn and explore in this city of Berlin.

My travel luggage is from Vocier. Love traveling with it on weekend gateways. It’s elegant smooth.
