Mind-blowing Norway Road Trip Summer Adventure!!

The West Norweigan Fjord region is one of the best places for a summer road trip you will find anywhere in the world. The landscapes are incredible, the fjords beautiful, and there are so many amazing hikes and activities both on land, ice, and the water that make it an action-packed adventure and a wonderful place to explore.

Some of the best Norway road trip highlights can be found on the side of the road and away from the main tourist spots, and you could turn down almost any road and find a unique place. This is why we recommend renting a car and exploring rather than being on a bus tour.

Is Norway the most beautiful country in the world? We will show some of the best places to visit in this Norway travel guide.

After our roadtrip through Iceland 2 years ago Gareth and I were in search of a destination that offers just as much natural beauty and unique outdoor experiences as Iceland and ended up choosing Norway because of its rugged coastline featuring numerous huge fjords and thousands of picturesque islands.

Regarding our route we’ll be starting off in Stavanger in Southwest Norway to learn more about the history of the country before moving on to Odda for some proper winter trekking. After that we make our way to Bergen, one of the most picturesque cities of the country which is often referred to as the fjord capital. Then we hit the slopes in Myrkdalen together with a well known Winter-X-Games athlete to warm up for the next dream destination further up north in Northern Norway: the Lofoten islands, which we’ll be exploring properly from west to east. The capital Oslo will be our last stop to finish this trip in style by visiting some of the major sights of the city and attending an intense football derby.

5 Things to know BEFORE a Norway Road Trip in 2024!! #familyvlog #norway #roadtrip

Are you planning a road trip in Norway? Before you hit the road, be sure to check out our latest video. We've put together a list of five essential things you need to know before driving in Norway.

From navigating the winding mountain roads to understanding the country's unique driving laws, we've got you covered. Our insider tips and advice will help you stay safe and make the most of your journey through Norway's breathtaking landscapes.

Our road trip starts with a visit to the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum, where the story of Vemork unfolds. This tale of people's struggle and culture encompasses an industrial adventure that saw heroes and workers in leading roles.

The Rjukan-Notodden Industrial Heritage Site is home to what was once the world's largest power station, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is an essential part of Norway's history and identity.

As you enter the Machine Hall, the deafening noise of the machines has been replaced by silence. However, the echoes of history will stay with you forever. You can explore the turbines, generators, and impressive architecture that were once the throbbing heart of the power plant.

One of the most significant events in the power plant's history occurred on a winter night in February 1943, when a group of Norwegian special forces soldiers risked their lives in the heavy water cellar. Today, visitors can explore this same area and experience the place that changed the world. To see more, watch our video tour by clicking here:

Norway Road Trip - Europe's Most Beautiful Country - Part 1

Norway impressed me in this honorable and unexpected way - despite it being cold and rainy. I have clearly never seen so many waterfalls in my life - like a real-life Narnia. And I have never admired the landscapes in any other European country more than here. I hiked up Preikestolen, ferried across many breathtaking fjords, could not believe my eyes when I saw Langfossen waterfall, felt like the character in a painting at Bondhusvatnet, and more. Other stops of this first part of my Norway trip included Boyabreen glacier, Lovatnet lake, Rakssetra, and the Loen Skylift. Oh, Norway - I'll be back for more!
