No One Goes to Tonga for a Tropical Vacation - Why Not?

No One Goes to Tonga for a Tropical Vacation - Why Not?

Tonga doesn't receive much tourism these days, but we found a convenient and affordable island resort named Big Mama's (Pangaimotu Island) right off the main island. It's a cheap tropical island destination that is honestly underrated!

For $25 USD, they will ferry you over to the island, feed you lunch, and ferry you back. While on the island, you can snorkel/dive around massive shipwrecks, go for swims in calm waters, tan on the sun deck, play volleyball, lounge in a hammock - basically all the tropical island type of activities that anyone would want to do.

On top of that, they have drinks, of course, which is always a great addition!

Hope you enjoyed our little tropical island travel vlog, if so, feel free to subscribe for more:

Has the Philippines gone quiet????? ???????? (ISLAND HOPPING)

One of Coron's best-kept secrets, Pass Island has pristine white sand, coconut trees, and a few cottages. It is a true wonderland and a fantastic location for an overnight stay in straightforward but cozy lodging. When we arrived, the sun was just above us making the water perfect, the island was deserted, and it truly was a tropical paradise. When our boat arrived, we sat down and enjoyed the blue sky from the shade of the coconut trees before walking around to explore. One of the most attractive places to visit close to Coron Island is this island because of its seclusion, white beach, coconut trees, and serene atmosphere.

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are a few nations that I just simply didn't enjoy.

The country of BRUNEI is one of them.

I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I felt like this video needed to be shared with the world.

Have you ever visited any countries that you didn't enjoy? Please share below, I'm curious to know.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure we're not dreaming. This is the life we always dreamed of, living off the grid on a sailboat. It's all starts with a perfect sail through the Vava'u Islands in the Kingdom of Tonga. Then we drop the anchor and get invited to swim with giant humpback whales.
From here Mother Nature decides to shine down on us for a snorkel with our friends Nate and Jordan. Super clear water, beautiful starfish, colorful Spanish Dancer Nudibranch, blue lobsters, puffers and one sneaky octopus. It's magnificent!
The cherry on top is our local friends Kjell and Adriana have arranged a Tapas dinner at the best restaurant in Tonga: La Paella. The food is great, the atmosphere is even better and it's BYOB! Plus, once the plates are cleared the real fun begins. It's an experience we won't forget.

Living #OffTheGrid on a Sailboat for us is all about creating a more sustainable way of life. The more of the world we see, the more we want to preserve it. But, living off the grid doesn’t have to mean sacrificing modern comforts. We believe self-sustainability and comfort can coexist.

From RV to sailboat we’ve lived off the grid for ten years and have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water and managing waste. You can learn more over on our website:

10 Best Places to Visit in Spain - Travel Video

Check out all the places seen in this video:

Splendid beaches, delicious cuisine, vibrant nightlife and lively fiestas all make Spain one of Europe’s best getaways. Because Spain encompasses several autonomous regions and islands, the country boasts one of the most widely diverse cultures and landscapes on the continent. Here’s a look at the top places to visit in Spain:

Mālō e lelei: THE KINGDOM OF TONGA (German Version)

A message from Thu: Damit meine Lieben in Deutschland nichts verpassen, habe ich Jeff darum gebeten eine deutsche Version von unserem Urlaubsvideo zu kreieren, da seine erste Songwahl leider einer der vielen GEMA blockierten Song war. Wir hoffen euch gefällt es :)

When Thu let me choose any vacation destination, the first place that came to mind was: The Kingdom of Tonga... one of the South Pacific islands, not located in Africa ;)
A few years back, I came across Darren Jew's underwater video ad for Canon where he was swimming with humpback whales and was able to capture these gentle giants in such a close proximity. I was in awe and immediately sold!
This month, I had the opportunity to check off a couple of items on my bucket list: swimming with humpback whales, taking amazing pictures of them, and sharing this moment with the love of my life. The biggest item was to drop down on one knee and have my best friend, travel buddy, and partner in crime agree to also be my future wife :)

Tonga Yachting Guide - What to do When Traveling to Tonga ????️

Tonga Yachting Guide

Recently, Tonga Kingdom has transformed into a center of attraction for tourists on a transpacific yacht cruise. The islands are a must-see on a sailing trip, with Vava'u maze of inlets, Ha'apai uncharted islands, and The Niuas and Eua isolated islands.

The coral atoll of Tongatapu serves as the principal island in this endearing archipelago. The Ha'apai island group offers a wide range of activities to accommodate every visitor, including horseback riding, snorkeling, and hiking. The Vava'u group, known as Tonga's adventure capital, is a top sailing location and the location of the stunning Port of Refuge Harbour.

The island of Niuas is one of the most sought-after islands for distant isolation because it is home to a scattering of rural settlements and beautiful beaches. The island of Eua is ideal for hikers and nature lovers, covered in lush hills and teeming with wildlife.

10 Things NOT To Do in Samoa

Get more Tips here!

The Samoan islands are surrounded by miles of pristine beaches, crystal blue ocean, and dazzling reef. But keep in mind that Samoa is a conservative country, and you should do your research ahead of time. Here’s our list of 10 things you should NOT in Samoa.

1. Don’t Stay Standing
When it’s time to get down to business, you’ll notice that Samoans all sit down on the floor to engage in discussion. It’s also considered rude to eat or drink while you’re standing.

2. Don’t Indulge in Kava
It’s customary to take part in the kava ceremony. This narcotic brew is made with the roots of a pepper plant, and the cup of liquid is passed around for everyone to sip and enjoy. Overindulging in the drink can decrease your reaction times and motor coordination.

3. Don’t forget to brush up on the Culture
Samoan Cultural Village and Knowledgeable guides will take you around through different exhibits where you’ll be given a fun history lesson. You’ll also be taught coconut weaving, watch an entertaining dance performance, and be treated to a traditional meal cooked over an earth oven.

4. Don’t Underestimate a Beach Fale
A fale is a hut on the beaches. You can actually rent one and wake up to the waves crashing right at your feet. These handmade structures range from simple to luxurious, but to get a true experience, you’ll definitely want to stay in the old school version made of wood and dried coconut fiber.

5. Don’t Leave the Water Without Your Lava Lava
After soaking up some sun on the beach, make sure to cover up with a lava lava afterward. It’s similar to a sarong, and it basically covers up your body so that you don’t offend the locals. And keep in mind, the lava lava is worn by both men and women.

6. Don’t Forget to Pay Taefu T Matafeo Store a Visit
Between Salelologa and the north coast, you’ll find a tiny establishment called Taefu T Matafeo Store. Inside, you can sip on some of the best espressos ever, while nibbling on homemade cakes. They also serve up light fare, including kimchi, and they have more than enough icy beer to go around.

7. Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls…Just Joking
Samoa’s backdrop is rich with gorgeous tropical forests that are home to some of the most stunning waterfalls. On Upolu Island, you will find Sopoaga Waterfall at the foot of Lotofaga Village. At the base of the falls, you can also take part in an umu demonstration and coconut husking.

8. Don’t Be Surprised by Beach Fees
In Samoa, the majority of the beaches are owned by families and villages, and they charge visitors a small fee (from 5 to 20 tala) to swim, take photos on the beach, or even wander around the sand. If you’re staying at a resort, you won’t have to worry about this fee at all.

9. Don’t Visit the National Museum on Weekends
This museum should definitely be at the top of your itinerary, but make sure you stop by during the week, because they’re closed on weekends. You can send a special request to ask that they open their doors for you on a Saturday or Sunday, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll honor it.

10. Don’t Enter During Prayer
Prayer sessions can happen frequently, and if you find that you’ve arrived at someone’s home during a prayer, wait outside until it is finished. If you’re inside their home at the time the prayer’s set to take place, you’ll be expected to take part in the service as well.
