Drive along the coast road south of Kiakoura then inland towards Christchurch and beyond to Akaroa which is on the Banks peninsula,an extinct volcano.
Sit back and watch the scenery .Its almost like you are there.

This video is a small part of our 8 week trip around both North & South Islands of New Zealand.
Starting in Auckland we rode the Kiwi Rail Northern Explorer to Wellington then crossed the Cook Strait to Picton.
South Island :-
We picked up the hired campervan & drove to Kaikoura where we went whale watching and saw a sperm whale.We then drove further along the Pacific coast and out to the extinct volcanos that form the Banks peninsula to beautiful Akaroa .Then on over Arthers Pass (stopping at Castle hill) to Hokitika, where we had a gorgeous sunset.From Hokitika we went on to Franz Josef glacier and walked the trail to the glacier.From Franz Josef we went to lake Matheson taking in the circular walk around the lake,some great views.Then on along the coast via Bruce Bay(good stop for a coffee from the mobile cafe) and on to Haast turning inland up the Haast river & Gorge, some great views all along the river with lots of waterfalls to stop at.We took in the Thunder Creek Falls & Fantail Falls.
Then on to Lake Wanaka & Lake Hawea both beautiful views & great for photos.Then on to Wanaka town.From Wanaka we drove over the Crown Range to Arrowtown ,unfortunately the video of the descent from the top of the range somehow got corrupted(we will just have to go again).There are some good walks from Arrowtown.We did the Sawpit Gully Walk,the Anniversary Walk & Tobin's Track.
After Arrowtown we drove to Queenstown and along lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy then back to Queenstown and south along the other arm of Lake Wakatipu to Kingston.We had planned to go to Milford Sound from here but due to the road being washed away due to storms(and people stranded) our plans had to change so we switched our itinerary & drove south to the Catlins, stopping at Surat Bay then on to the Matai Falls & the McLean Falls , passing by Curio Bay and walking out to Slope Point the most southerly point of mainland South Island.Invercargill next and west along the coast to Riverton, stopping at Colac Bay & Gemstone Beach then on to Te Anau.The road to Milford Sound was now open for organised Coach convoys(we booked for the 2nd day it was open), a great day with good weather for Milford.Leaving te Anau we headed for Twizel where there are dark skies for star gazing.From twizel we continued on to Mount Cook where we walked to Kea Point(a short walk) and the longer 11km Hooker Valley Track to the glacier lake below Mount Cook.
Leaving Mount Cook passing lake Tekapo we again crossed Arthurs Pass to Greymouth this time.Then north up the coast,stopping at Pancake Rocks and then into the Buller Gorge stopping overnight in Murchison.The next day we drove on to Motueka staying for a couple of nights and walked along the coast by the sandspit.Following this we drove over Takaka Hill (up to 10 min wait in the traffic lights) where there is lots of road slippage, to Pohara on Golden Bay.We walked a track to Wainui falls and also visited Labrynth Rocks.Back over Takaka Hill to Marahau on the edge of Abel Tasman National Park to walk some of the Abel Tasman Coast Track and also a trip to Split Apple Rock.Leaving Marahou we had our first rainy day heading for Havelock,we stopped at Pelorus Bridge where we had on a previous trip canoed the river.The next day we drove the scenic route along the coast to Picton & on to the Ferry for North Island.
Pancake Rocks, Paparoa National Park, New Zealand South Island Road Trip (4K)
This video is about Pancake Rocks at South Island, NZ. It is on our way driving from Greymouth to Nelson via the west coast line. A must visit for at least 1 to 2 hours around this amazing place. There is also a coffee/restaurant near the entrance where you can have a nice lunch or some snacks.

Akaroa is one of the most peaceful and beautiful towns I visited in South Island New Zealand.
I consider here as one of the top attractions in New Zealand, also one of the most underrated places.
Just 75 kilometres from the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, Akaroa is a historic French and British settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano.
On my way from Christchurch to Akaroa, I drove to the Banks Peninsula hilltop, met and learned something from an innocent looking sheep.
The sheep reminds me what is important in life:
Be kind. Be simple. Be humble. Be curious.
Once I reached Akaroa, I walked around this amazing town. I also enjoyed the spectacular views from Akaroa Harbour.
On my way back to Christchurch, I drove along the beautiful Summit Road. You will see those pictures in this video also.

Driving Kaikoura South Island New Zealand | Town Centre | Coastal drive | New Zealand Tour 4K 2021

Kaikoura is located on the east coast of south island New Zealand between Christchurch and Picton. Christchurch is 2.5 hrs drive to the south of Kaikoura and Picton is 2 hrs drive where you can catch the ferry across to Wellington. There are few places like Kaikoura, a small coastal village with breath-taking views between mountains and seas. The scenic drive along the east coast is one of the most beautiful state highway. Lots of activities can be done here, you will encounter wales, dolphins, fur seal, sea birds etc. Don't forget to try the crayfish here, fantastic!

NZ Road Trip and Hiking With Kids! || AKAROA and TWIZEL
Theres always A FEAR to travel with kids, what more babies! Well, Has and I agree we would rather experience a tantrum with a great mountain view than being cooped up at home. :) (So far, thank God we haven’t had any.) We hope that our NZ videos will push or inspire others to take a risk, go out, and create memorable moments with the family! Watch this vid to experience the adventures we had with our 2 year old and 2 month infant!
Akaroa and Twizel were our first two stops in EPIC South Island.
When we landed in Christchurch, we immediately got our rented car from JUCY and drove 1.5 hours to Akaroa. We spent 2 nights in Akaroa.

Punakaiki Pancake Rocks + Denniston Mine, West Coast | South Island New Zealand Road Trip Vlog 2/4
The South Island of NZ is filled with incredible scenery. This vlog continues on from our previous vlog where we flew from Auckland to Christchurch, then drove along the stunning Great Alpine Highway to get to the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
We stopped in Greymouth for the night and stayed at a newly renovated 1 bedroom self-contained unit which was very clean, comfy and spacious. Wayne was a warm and friendly host that came over to greet us when we arrived and made us feel very welcomed at their place.

With luck on our side, we had great weather and were able to enjoy the spectacular Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes walk located in Paparoa National Park. Unfortunately despite being there at high tide, we didn't get to see any of the blowholes spraying water but it was still such an awesome place to visit and see the incredible natural rock formations that really do resemble pancakes.
Apparently they're at their best around high tide when there is a south-westerly swell so you can use this link to check out what time to go and try your luck:
For lunch we stopped in the small town of Westport at a roadside stall called Gado Gado which serves delicious, authentic, and traditional Indonesian food (as well as some other cuisines) but the lady who cooks the food is Indonesian so we had to try it especially since the place had rave reviews. It was super yum!

Our last stop was Denniston. Denniston was once a leading coal mining town where families lived in extreme and challenging conditions. Denniston Incline was a true engineering feat using gravity to transport the coal wagons. It's a steep drive up the mountain to get to it but the views from the top are magnificent and it was really interesting to see the coal mining relics. We were very lucky with clear weather too as it started raining heavily after we left.
