Presenting a tour of the Netherlands

Starting with a visit to Haarlem, then to Leiden, doing a few day trips out from there. Then to Delft for three more nights and excursions to The Hague, political capital of the nation.
Then to Rotterdam the great modern city of the Netherlands, continuing to Utrecht, a university town with a large historic center and then to Maastricht in the southern part of the country. I'll also be going up to the Alkmaar cheese market which is a lot of fun.
This video is a summary of the trip through the Netherlands. We will be presenting short segments about each city here, but we have 22 movies providing a lot more details about these places so be sure to look for them in our collection.

Traveling between cities was so easy because the Netherlands has got perhaps the best train system in Europe. It's phenomenal. The trains are clean, fast, frequent and not expensive. This is a small country, so the cities are relatively close together, you can get from one to the next and 15 or 30 minutes usually. This superb rail service in itself makes a good reason to visit this country, shift for it really does eliminate some of those logistical problems of travel, just getting around. It is so easy with these trains.
Some call it Holland, but the country is The Netherlands. Holland is two provinces in the Netherlands.

In this travel vlog, we spend the day exploring the city of Haarlem. Haarlem is a lovely city located in The Netherlands, also known as little Amsterdam, it is the perfect destination for a daytrip.
During the day we do a tour of a windmill, a boat cruise, visit a former prison & the big famous church. We also stroll around the city and have some yummy food!

Haarlem has a rich history of culture and arts. It is the home to four museums including the Frans Hals Museum. Haarlem is an excellent place for those who want to visit Dutch culture.
Haarlem is home to an array of inspirational galleries and museums. The most popular one being the Teyler's Museum . This museum houses some exquisite pieces including ones done by Rembrandt, Caravaggio, and many more!
The second most popular museum within Haarlem is the Frans Hals Museum . This one includes paintings from famous artists such as Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh, and Piet Mondriaan.
Haarlem also has a couple of really nice churches. The first church seen below is the St Bavo's Cathedral which is also known as Grote Kerk Haarlem. The second church is St Mary's Church, or Oude Kerk. It was built in the 14th century and today it acts as a museum open to the public!
If you are interested in history, Haarlem has no shortage of historical places too. One example being the Haarlem City Hall . Another historical building is the Haarlem Public Library . It was built in 1642 and also functions as a museum.
Today Haarlem still has plenty of old buildings ranging from museums to churches and more! The city itself has been largely preserved to give people a taste of Dutch culture for centuries past.

Leiden is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland, Netherlands.
The municipality of Leiden has a population of 120,000 but the city forms one densely connected agglomeration with its suburbs Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten and Zoeterwoude with 206,000 inhabitants.
Leiden is located on the Oude Rijn, at a distance of some 20 km (12 mi) from The Hague to its south and some 40 km (25 mi) from Amsterdam to its north.

Alkmaar, Hoorn und Haarlem, drei wunderschöne niederländische Städte, zählen zu den Highlights der Region Nordholland.
Im Jahre 2019 machten wir eine Autorundreise in den Niederlanden. An einem Tag stand Nordholland auf dem Programm, wofür wir uns abwechslungsreiche Programmpunkte überlegten:
Zuerst besuchten wir Alkmaar u.a. mit seinem traditionellen und berühmten Käsemarkt (immer Freitags ab 10 Uhr!), anschließend die Hafenstadt Hoorn, nach der u.a. das Kap Hoorn, die Südspitze Südamerikas, benannt ist, und am Ende das idyllische Städtchen Haarlem unweit von Amsterdam gelegen.
Wir haben diese Tour von Amsterdam aus gemacht und es war wirklich gut an einem Tag zu schaffen. Die Stadtzentren sind bequem zu Fuß zu erkunden.
In diesem Video findet ihr die schönsten Impressionen der drei kleinen Städte, unterlegt mit meiner Klaviermusik. Ich hoffe ich kann euch die schönsten Seiten von Nordholland gut präsentieren und wünsche euch einen tollen und erlebnisreichen Aufenthalt in der schönen Region!

Alkmaar, Hoorn and Haarlem, three beautiful Dutch cities, are among the highlights of the North Holland region.
In 2019 we made a tour by car in the Netherlands. In one day, North Holland was on the program, for which we considered varied program points:
First we visited Alkmaar with its traditional and famous cheese market (always on Fridays from 10 am!), then the port city of Hoorn, after which the Cape Horn, the southern tip of South America, is named, and at the end the idyllic town of Haarlem, located not far from Amsterdam.
We did this tour from Amsterdam and it was really good to do in one day. The city centres are within walking distance.
In this video you will find the most beautiful impressions of the three small towns, backed up with my piano music. I hope I can present you the most beautiful sides of North Holland and wish you a great and eventful stay in the beautiful region!
